Absolute banger of a game. Bit of a rough start perhaps when you don't know what you are doing. But as soon as that first promotion hits for a dwarf the game opens up so much.

Love all the gameplay synergies and the top tier teamplay with all the classes. Not to mention the brilliant boardgame that this franchise has spawned!

Why make a PSN account for "our safety" if you already have a very intrusive anti-cheat.

Misleading and weird. Game was fine without a PSN account, why suddenly make it required?

Sank a lot of hours into the demo. Playing the full game feels fantastic. Loads of visual and gameplay improvements.

This game got me into the survivor genre to begin with, after playing a load of DRG itself.

The mining of the arena is the biggest feature here, lots of fun to mold the level to your advantage.

Positive review already from me, even if the endgame or progression turns out to be lackluster I already got my money's worth.

Really don't enjoy the new update, having to grind for basic tools that used to be available is horrible.

Maybe it works for new players, but it completely ♥♥♥♥♥ over older players who were used to using smudge sticks, salt. tripods, crucifixes, motion sensors, etc.

Hate it honestly, and hope they revert that. If all tools were available and money is the only thing standing in the way it would maybe fix most of the problems for me personally.

Buy for now, would not recommend. A once fun game received death by feature creep

The game got boring after grinding for 60 hours:

I still have none of the highest tier equipment yet, almost level 40.

The boring part is how simple it becomes when you "honestly bud just learn the ghost" like the guy commenting on me says.

Ghosts do something specific, and you know it and lock it in. Or you have to wait for a really long time for a ghost to do a specific thing to complete an objective.

It sucked all the horror and fun of the game out of it, which is a real shame. The first time playing it really did spook me, but the grinding really took all the fun out of it. Hope they fix the progression system so it isn't so grindy. How can it hurt the game if you give good items to players after less than 60 hours of playing?

Just finished it when writing this review. Absolutely stunning game from start to finish. Great world to explore and really nice survival mechanics and progression!

Brought the entire friend group during release last year together. What an amazing experience, everyone doing their own thing to create a viking community and beating a boss together with like 10 people. That was honestly peak survival game content.

Exploration, building, sailing, satisfying combat (if it doesn't lag), really solid progression through areas and bosses. And to boot: really easy setup for a dedicated server + modding. (check out ich777 on dockerhub for a plug&play unix server docker image)

I would say the only thing that keeps it from being perfect is a lack of workshop support, but otherwise fantastic game

The sound design and sheer quality of this game is simply amazing. I wish the controls were a little more snappy like the original source version though. It can feel a little floaty when playing compared to source.

Would still recommend, the coop game modes are loads of fun with friends
