I bought this game. Not even a full three days ago. I'm at 22 hours. I've binged in roughly 7 hour increments. Those are roughly a match an hour for the good ones. I've never played a game, let alone a shooter I've decided to randomly pick up to see what my friends were trying to get me into, and invested so much time into it by myself. I haven't even played it with them. If I'm having this much of an instant sell with random blueberry players, I can promise this is a solid pseudo-MilSim for a group of friends trying to work things together. Go buy this ♥♥♥♥ if it's your cup of tea, but don't go hoping to be the next super soldier shooterman.

I'm going to write a review for this. Ignore my time on it.

The game, great. But Skyrim is only so much. So, you have the DLC. That adds hours, but unless you want to grind out every single quest, you're done with the main story and the side quests you get distracted with. So, that's where I was with my Ps3. I'm just doing Sidequests now, for an excuse to play. I don't own a PC strong enough to play this normally and at an enjoyable pace. You may wonder why I even bought it here in the first place. I planned on playing this game, and modding the living ♥♥♥♥ out of it. You see the problem with that last statement?

What used to be free, is now going to Valve. Bethesda moved on, but the community didn't. These fantastic people had a goal, the know how, and the will to make it better constantly. And now, you can help them! Awesome! Love being able to donate to the people who deserve a few extra bucks for their work we use every day... Wait, what do you mean it's not a donation? It's... Paid? So wait, do the makers of the mods set the price? Then they could just keep it free, right? So why the ♥♥♥♥ is there even money for it anyways? A large portion would be going to Vavle, right? It has to. They obviously aren't making enough for CS:GO and TF2 keys. Have to charge someone somewhere else. Only option left clearly.

♥♥♥♥, this sounds like a move from EA. Really Gaben? Go help everyone make this move stop here and now, don't let them paywall other games! Go sign the petition for this! https://www.change.org/p/valve-remove-the-paid-content-of-the-steam-workshop

Would I recommend this game? /♥♥♥♥. Yes./ That's all that needs to be said. Don't be fooled with the little time I have on this as of right now, 2.7 hours. I've been playing this for years. Since Build 24. YEARS of being part of this game. Hard at first. Once you spend some time with it though, I'd say a good solid 4 hours, you gain an understanding of controls. For soldiers. It may come faster to you, but the piloting of ships took me a long time. It's gentle but heavy. The AI makes it seem like they stop instantly, but they don't.

Enough about that. Review stuff, that's why you're still reading this wall of text.

Positives!
- Sandbox. So many ways to play this, I can't say I've had a game go the same way. Ever.
- Hardcore gameplay. It's not for the average person looking to waste some time, unless of course you want to watch your own units die to the random ship failures.
- CRABS! Have you ever dropped a green box crammed full of alien crabs? Doubt it! But you want to now, don't you? DO IT. Never before have you seen the world shift into a lagtastic slow-mo while everyone around the impact site turns into a puddle of red goo as crab shells rain down over the battlefield!
- It's still in development! You'll be seeing builds faster than I did, and that's exciting, because this game needs more love! Keep it up Data!
- Mods, Mods, Mods! Hit up the workshop and add some things! And if you go to the DataRealms forums, you can hit up the modding community where it started. The latter is a manual installation, but it's a simple folder into another one.

Negatives. (Are there any? Maybe.)
- Fullscreen is a total pain in the ass to get to work, and the normal size for the screen is a pain in the ass to look at.
- Learning curve. A lot of games have them, but the controls are a little weird with this. The Pie menu isn't as sensitive as I'd want it, but it does what it needs to once you remember where things are located on it.

I wanted to think of more negatives, but I just can't.

TL;DR: BUY THE GAME. CRAB BOMBS. SHIP DEBRIS FRIENDLY FIRE. BLOOD SHOWERS. BULLET CASING PILES.

10/10 would spend 20oz of gold to cram 500 crabs into a green box and drop it from orbit, killing all life in a 500 miles radius.

Early Access Review
I'm going to mark this as yes, but I still would say no if the Dev vanished again for such a long period. October. And just recently, March. That's a dead period. It's empty. At least show screenshots of the work you're doing in that time. Don't go "Hey, V 0.0.4!" Go away and come back going, "Hey, V 0.0.6!" The hell happened to 5? It's not important where the numbers went, but what is important is that you went silent. I'm being repetative here, because we have to be. I like the game, I like the idea. It's fun for a bit, and more so with other people, so long as they don't 'DayZ' you. Watch something on youtube first, and then decide if you want to buy.
