I've been putting off playing this game ever since I saw the GDC talk on WFC and now that I've finally played it I'm hopelessly addicted to its world and gameplay. You will lose your characters learning about the world, discovering new mechanics and enemies, and generally figuring out what does and doesn't work; I couldn't recommend this game enough, it's a lovingly crafted no compromises rogue-like (in every sense) with none of the toxic meta-progression that has infested the genre.

P.S. When you finally start trying to make a custom build instead of using the presets, I highly recommend making a mutant pilgrim with max toughness and willpower and flame ray + regeneration + psychic. It is a fairly forgiving and straightforward build that will let you learn the game before you move on to more difficult builds.

Has potential but very rough around the edges so its hard to recommend (bugs, some annoying balancing decisions, etc.)

I like this game a lot, especially more than it's competitor Predecessor. However it is IMPOSSIBLE to find matches. You commonly wait 8-14 minutes for a match. If the company behind this game actually put in the effort to advertise this game properly and make it popular it would pop off it's fun and fast paced and 30-40 minutes of play time feel like 10-15 and action packed as hell.

This is just stupid. I wasted all my free gems and points unlocking a fun gimmick deck that's legal in standard only to find out that it's illegal in Master Duel. Let me tell you why makes 0 sense.

This is insanely stupid because they don't ban/limit enough cards to make the game fun and interactive for new players, but they still ban enough that it's a different game and you might as well be playing IRL or on a community made app. At least Duel Links for all its flaws made the game approachable for newbies and made previously trash decks playable/meta. Compared to that what's the point in playing YGO Master Duel if its the same old crap but I cant even play the deck I want? I can just go to YGOPRO or stop playing instead if you are going to offer an overall inferior experience.

If you don't have a knack for puzzle games then this could be worth while, but at only 50 levels and about 30 minutes of game play it isn't worth the .99 cents. I've played much more challenging games on websites like Newgrounds or Kongregate, with much more content and even much more options. OPTIONS.

I can not stress this enough, if you develop for PC you MUST have at LEAST some basic windowed/fullscreen options in addition to sound options. My computer's monitor for instance has a HUGE scar that covers up the puzzles. If I could play this in a windowed mode I would have beaten this long before the 1/2 an hour mark, let alone the .7 hours at the time of this review.

Again, if you aren't so good at puzzle games you might find this worth the .99 cents, but if you are, you should just save your money and buy something better on the App Store or Goggle Play Store. No speed run mode, no "One Life" mode, no mention for solving the puzzles as efficiently as possible, no size or sound options, heck, you don't even have a level select! That's right! You have to flip through the levels using the arrows above like you're using some 1980's television set! Remember tuning in to channel 3 so you could play your Nintendo? Talk about a joke.

Calling this game lack luster is a complement.
