I preordered Odyssey way back in December. That was a mistake. I have gotten no value from the deluxe package purchase like I have gotten from other purchases. I never partook in the Alpha as there was no Alpha. Sure there was a version of the game that was playable just a few short weeks before the official release but that was not true Alpha as in no way would any bug reports made during the "Alpha" make a difference. The released products shows this as it is very VERY much an unfinished product. I tried to give the game a week of hot fixes in hopes things would improve.. but on foot combat is laggy as hell and the game weirdly looks worse now. The character and ambiance is gone. Sure I can login using Horizon's mode but this whole experience has ruined my joy for the game. I'm just so very disappointed and feel cheated of what was promised. I'm taking a break... call me when the game is worth playing again.

Never again will I preorder a game from Frontier. I just can't trust them anymore.

UPDATE: So I see nothing's been really fixed yet. Yes, bugs have been patched but it's not ready yet. Now that they have all but officially dropped VR support (Which is why I even got a VR rig to begin with was for THIS GAME) I'm so disgusted.. I went out of purchased No Man's Sky and Star Citizen to ease the pain.

In a world of COVID-19.... Social distancing sucks for those that need social interaction to maintain sanity. This is a great way of getting out there while staying at home.

UPDATE: EAC broke it. No longer can use mods that I use to protect me from the crashers that have nothing to do with modding.

The game showed a lot of promise at first but the development has come to a crawl. There are performance issues as well since with frame rates unable to push much past 30 fps even when at lowest settings. My CPU and GPU never goes over 80% utilization even when at max settings. Issues with optimization I believe.
I hope the developers fix these issues and breath life back into this game.
UPDATE: [2021/06/28] Game has new features but still REALLY broken. Tried to built up a base then a random NPC built on top of it and now I can;t get in my own base. so yeah.. this game is crap.

My PC is above specs for recommended system requirements except for the CPU which is median in relation to the specs, yet this game is barely able to run above 8 fps even on lowest quality settings. This game is thrashing my CPU and it really shouldn’t be when just on the main menu. Developer needs to do some SERIOUS optimization, as it stands it’s unplayable.

Edit: Dialog is SO CRINGE!

Runs smooth with a 1050ti at max settings.

I'm realy enjoying this game especially fun when playing with my kids in co-op.

Game Crashes immediatly after loading screen intro video. Tried several suggested fixes posted online without any luck.

*Review Based on Experimental Build as of 3/29/2017*

Frame Rate has improved dramatically since the last version making the game actually playable on my two main rigs.
I'm experienceing some odd issues with the "Q" and "E" buttons not reliably opening the backpack and brining out the terrain tool which is a bit frustrating. I hope they get this fixed in the next build.

So far, I'm enjoying the game and exploring despite it's quirks.

I'm looking forward to what the devs have in store for this game.

At first I was a little turned off by the 2D aspect. Longing for my trtied and true Minecraft. But, this game grew on me once I started playing with friends.
