Grab a couple of your friends for an evening, just sit down and have fun. This game has so many things within for a good time, while being very simple!
Controller is a must though!

Starting off okay, with battles being interesting, as they are new. In about 5-6 games you start to feel the slog and awkwardness of the game. And the cheaters don't help it. Getting headshot about 4-5 times by the same guy across the map, spawning from different spots within 2 minutes time... If that aint cheats, people are mad talented and should play some professional e-sports with this precision and speed.

Overall the game is not too bad, but it's dated, halway in the grave with a very small playerbase, sadly. Killing Red Army Men was mostly the case, as there's a 5v5 going on the huge map in most cases :{

1st order of business : All the reviews that have been posted with 2 hours of gameplay are not playing through the game and\or barely understood the first game and it's universe. Especially the collectible TV series "The Night Springs", which are heavily influencing THIS short title.

With that out of the way, let's tell you what to expect from this so you're not let down or hyped up too much.

One of the most important things with this game is the story. And it's a different world where the whole story takes place.
Do not expect the same Alan Wake experience. It is a short story about the world Alan got left in after the first game.
It expands a bit more about the world Alan is in and what is happening since the events of the first game.
Certainly, it's not script writing of the decade, or that year even, but it makes for a great feeling of unraveling as you progress through the game and collect the manuscript pages, which tell you some more of the story as well. A lot of the pages are re-explaning to you the same things you've just seen, but there are quire a few nice story arches you can follow along. And with all the arches from the TV's and Radios you get another perspective of the events, which expand the story line very well.

Now for the gameplay itself.
The combat mechanics got honed a little bit and the visuals got a decent facelift for it's time. It still looks pretty alright for a port , honestly.

The levels are kind of small and re-hashed 3 times through out the game, but they slightly change to get you a bit more exploration available and make it seem at least a bit different, which is fine, considering what the storyline tries to convey to the player.
Highly suggest that you play this on a controller, as it makes for a better experience, but Kb/m works fine here as well.

Calling this a full game, would be not right. However, it's much cheaper than any full game out there, which is a flag of it's own - it's a small adventure you can embark on if you've liked the first game for it's cooky details in the TV shows, loved collecting Manuscript pages and have a few hours to go for an adventure.

For me it took 5 hrs to complete, because I was running around trying to find all the pages... alas I missed 3 at the start of the game. The pages actually got a nice new look and feel to it, that I've enjoyed personally, some might not find it compelling enough, but it's a fun little addition to, what I feel, the main character in the Alan Wake games - The Manuscript pages of Alan's messages to himself.

In conclusion, I do recommend this game for anyone who wants a short adventure game with a bit of a 1-time story with it. Especially, if you've enjoyed the Original Alan Wake game. Do not expect a whole AAA experience out of this. It's an add-on for the Original Game that ties up ideas that the devs felt should be finalized.

Nightmare fuel. 10/10.

It is a Cluster♥♥♥♥ of greatness we all wanted from the First game.

Great mod support, a lot of content to get your hands on from the devs through Free and Payed DLC's that are actually worth their money ( picking up 1 dlc a month would last you a few years of content if you are not up to getting a bundle or smth ).

Been playing this since its release on and off and it's a lot of fun solo and a next level of heart-stopping and monitor screaming fun with friends :D

Great game to explore and learn the classes.
Haven't got to NG+ yet... Takes time.

It's like Diablo II meets Pixel Art Dungeon crawlers and make this amazing game.

Playing the vanilla game for now. As I understand the DLC's are worth it as well. But I haven't got through the main game yet!

Highly urge you to take a good hard sitdown with this and get your character leveled up. If you can start with a few friends you'd get a great session out of it!

Probably one of the most refreshing retro looking games I've played in a while. Great movement , simple as dirt controls, quite a lot of levels and great challenge !

Weapon choices were a big highlight for me, along with unlock trees . Didn't use much spells but had a great few nights playing this game .

One downside for me was the hell section . The aggravating visuals were a big no-no, comparing to the other sections of the game it looks rushed and the colors at times just made the eyes strain :(


If you love original Wolfenstein, Doom games and Blood this one is a definite must play !

Great Game. Actually is a breath of fresh air with all these sandbox-openworld-builder type games that are being cloned time and time again. I Love zombie / infected / horde type games and when I saw the screenshots I went nuts for it. So far - NO REGRETS.

The pro/con list is my personal experiance and preference , pls no butthurt :D

Pros:
-Trial and Error Defence Building
-Artwork is great! (cant wait for more content)
-Even as EA game handles itself pretty well ( Crashed once when I changed graphics on first launch, no crashes Since )
-WASD move mode ( Can't stress this enoug - As a casual RTS player - I LIKE WASD map movement , more devs should include that as an option for us casual players :D )
-Fairly challenging and I assume it has a pretty steep learning curve since the game is balanced towards the zomzoms unless you play accordingly )
-Levelup system ( Even though its basic 1 level up , its great that you can improve characters and BOOST your troops with roaming the map and getting some kills with a squad )
-Multiple Difficulty multipliers ( while 3 of those are pretty great , if we had a bit more indepth breakdown of difficulty like in Anno series for example , that would make this so much more variable and will boost the replayability tenfold!)


Cons:
-"Last Entity selected" bug ( If you play even a bit faster than most, it has a small bug where the mouse seems to be stuck on the last entity or the game thinks you have your screen positioned at the same place if you click via minimap ... I've sent some troops back when I was planning to attack a DoomVillage....lost 3 vets for no reason T_T , attack wave came right after and I couldnt defend wave 2...)
-Small amount of controllable units
-No upgrades even like ATK/DEF/ASPD/MSPD like in most RTS games in special buildings like "Blacksmith" or something like that. ( would be nice if we could boost the stats just by a bit while maintaining the colony - maybe make it a Togglable feature for score multiplier? )
-No Tutorial ( For me that was not an issued - as I was in a mood to explore , fail , replay , fail again and learn the game like that. On the other hand it was quite strainous to learn stuff while spazzing out while thinking if my Tent will be attacked and zombies will make zombie babies... It was great to start playing this! But a lot of people wouldnt like to sink like 4-5 hours to try and learn the basics by trial and error method - They just dont have time to do that! )
-Very confusing layout of the map Difficulty - If you go South - Its easy there and only 1 or 2 Harpies , if you go North , you should be in a pack of Vet Nordic VIkings and some grizzled Soldiers to survive the suddon jump of 4 spitters , 3 harpies and 5 Fatties ._. I miss my Carefully leveled Veteran squad of SMG soldiers.... *sniff*


Ok, I may have went a bit overboard with explanations here , but I hope this paints a picture for some interested people and they will get the game with the right mindset and will be prepared to fend Them off. Because They are Billions!

Great game. Tactics , Many classes to Unlock, Some customisation - with the cards being there. Overal very interesting game , VERY high skill cealing.

Major positive - Fast paced games, quick matches.

Its free - try it. YOu will get hooked!

Game is full of crappy launch bugs and really bad animation-wise a little unbalanced for now, but it's fun and the art is stunning. Have a go at it. It's free anyways :D
