Look. Is it the worst saints row, yeah it probably is. Saints Row The Third is one of my top games of all time. The story and the gameplay was just wonderful and the over the top wackyness really sold it for me.

The story for this game is pretty eh, ive barely touched it because its hella bland. You can tell that its going over the top in terms of pandering. The problem isnt that they are a multi cultural melting pot of people, I am part of the LGTV+ community, i dont mind when its done right. The problem is that theres a massive cognitive dissonance when you have murders and gangsters talking like they are permanently online on twitter. It feels like the devs just self inserted themselves into the saints story without changing anything to make it make sense.

But whatever its the story, It feels like exactly the type of story you got in the DLCs for saints row the third and 4, Barely servicable story just to create a spectacle of an action scene. I never hated the dlcs because i still liked the gameplay. And thats where this game gets a positive rating for me.

I picked up the gold edition for $20 on the steam sale, and for that its not a bad deal. The gameplay of this game is STILL saints row. Its fun, and while things are more grounded than they were in saints row 3, its not trying to be realistic at all. ramming cars can cause them to fly in the air and explode. Theres still stupid fun takedowns, like one were you can shove a grenade down someones pants, pick them up, and then be able to throw them into a crowd of enemies like a grenade is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ HILARIOUS.

Overall the gameplay is fun, but there are still regressions compared to previous games. I dont know what they did to helicopters in the game but they feel like straight up DOOKIE compared to older games. I liked the idea of a wingsuit, but the feel of using one just doesnt feel right. The voice acting feels a bit like people recorded their lines with whatever random mic they had lying around at the voice actors house and emailed in, compared to using a recording studio and using DSP to process that sound to fit in its enviroment in the game. UI problems where some tooltip will stay stuck on the screen and i have to close the game to the main menu and reload. But its just little things that you can ignore while playing, ive definitely played games with more polish, but where the gameplay just wasnt that engaging. So i dont mind a game thats a bit rough, if im still having fun with the game aspects of it.

I came into this expecting the absolute worst, but came away a bit pleasntly suprised. This game is 150% NOT worth it at full price, but at $20 its not a bad deal if you know that you love the gameplay of saints row. If you have never played one and are interested in this one because its a reboot. PLEASE SKIP THIS GAME AND PLAY SAINTS ROW THE THIRD REMASTERED. infinitely better than this game.

For anyone expecting this game to be radically different than previous forza motorsport games, you will be disapointed. But if your a longtime forza fan like me, I think you will love the new car progression system. It livens up the progression system and makes it feel fresh. In multiplayer most hoppers use homoligated cars so you dont have to worry about grinding to be competitive. There is currently only 2 hoppers where you have to build and upgrade cars within a certain class.

I will say though, that it is pretty lame that they are capping the framerate in multiplayer to 60fps. The game supports multi monitor and ultrawide screens, that is also technically a performance advantage too so the justification that they provided is lame. Id disable crossplay in an INSTANT if it unlocked my framerate in multiplayer.

It definitely is a modern AAA game 'live service' where the overall content in the game feels a bit empty so it gives them a update path for future content drops. But i think what is in the game is really fun. I love the featured car multiplayer lobbies where they feature a new car every week and you have to drive it to level it up and upgrade it through the week.

kinda buggy but the bugs arent really affecting gameplay, just weird stuff like cars in the pit menu screen will clip inside eachother sometimes randomly flipping.

Nixxes killing it on the port! make sure you run this game on a nvme ssd due to the way the levels were designed around them, but other than that if your computer can decently run spiderman remastered, another insomniac game on the same engine ported by nixxes, you should be fine.

Warning, This game will murder your gpu. Running at 1440p ultrawide with dlss set to performance on a 3090 was getting me 30-40fps depending on the scene. path tracing is a really cool concept, but with the amount of de noising you have to do with the rays you currently have, Its only going to be cool as a demonstration of enhancing older games like this for a long time. do not expect path traced AAA titles any time in the next decade.

But that said, wow for just being a mod that injects itself on top of an older game, this is a really cool concept and a fantastic tech demo. The enviroment in the chase scene is INSANE. when you go back and compare it to even the dx9 version of portal. 10x more when you look and see what rtx remix had to work with, using the dx8 version of portal to build off of.

I also enjoy the look that nvidia went for with the early levels, even if it doesnt stay true to the original artist intent. If i wanted that i wouldnt be using graphics mods imo.

This game will definitely be something that I will keep going back to when I get a new gpu for the forseeable future. This and minecraft rtx have turned into the ray tracing generation version of crysis.
