An absolutely fantastic game that takes everything we love from classic JRPGs and repackages it for a modern audience. The visuals are beautiful, the music is great, the story is interesting and gameplay is FUN. It took me about 45 hours to beat the main story, and there is still post-game content and other exploration pieces that I did not complete so you get great value for your money. If you like turn-based RPGs you owe it to yourself to check out this little indie gem!

A delightful puzzle game which makes you think and question the world around you. It took 18 hours to get through my first playthrough, and there is a ton of hidden things I am yet to find - great value!

This is really a great adventure game. In terms of an audio/visual experience alone it is stunning, with its beautiful hand-painted characters and environments as well as great voice acting and music. The story is exceptional and has a great plot twist that I personally did not see coming. Reccomended for all fans of the adventure game genre

Telltale games, a relatively unknown game studio for most of its life, has recently hit it big since releasing its Walking Dead titled adventure game released last year. A studio previously known for comedic-styled adventure games, the Walking Dead was a huge change of direction for the studio. It incorporated a gritty comic book style art style, with mature themes and the possibility for you the player to make the choices. Telltale continues along this path with their newest game: The Wolf Among Us.

Set in the same world as the comic book series “Fables”, The Wolf Among Us brings us the story of Bigby, AKA, the big bad wolf. Him, along with most of our other beloved story book characters, have been forced out of their homelands and have had to relocate to New York City and live their lives secretly under the guise of regular people. Don’t let the storybook references fool you however, as this is not a game for children. The Wolf Among Us tackles some mature subject matter, specifically a murder case, and includes some graphic scenes and crude language among other things.

The Wolf Among Us draws from its source material well, as it delivers an extremely intriguing story full of interesting characters and innovate locales. You are constantly on your toes as the action pulls you to various crime scenes and other locations. Bigby is a likeable main character, gruff and straight to the point, but vulnerable in ways that only you the character really understand.

As an adventure game, it follows the classic point and click formula; talking to people, collecting items, and exploring the environment as your main tasks. While some people will dislike the lack of action in the game, it really gives you a more emotional attachment to the story and characters, which makes the moments of action (through quick time events) that much more dramatic. Being able to make decisions and choose conversation responses as Bigby really drew me into the game, giving me a sense of purpose and feeling like my decisions really mattered. The game specifically presents two large choices that you will have to pick from, and whichever you pick can drastically alter your game experience.

Like most other Telltale games before it, The Wolf Among Us is being released in an episodic format akin to a television show. Meaning after finishing the roughly two hour long episode you will be aggravated to find you have to wait for the next. The cliffhanger ending definitely added suspense and I found myself eagerly awaiting the next episode.

The Wolf Among Us is a brilliant adventure game, and one of Telltales best. Its great story, interesting art style, and memorable characters leave me eagerly awaiting the release of the next episode.
