One of the worst games of its kind, especially if you decide to play PVE and not engage with the pvp aspect of the game.

Overall, I really enjoyed this game; even the stuff outside combat was fantastic. If you are a Marvel fan and would like to spend time with heroes like Blade, Spiderman, Iron Man, etc. and befriend them and start book clubs with them (Yes you heard me), you might like this too. The abbey, your base, has a ton of optional secrets and lore—lots of lore hidden all around the place.

The battles are great; you can make them harder or easier at the reward or cost of XP and Gloss, which means you need to buy more costumes, colors, and other things. The battles have an XCOM skin, but instead of % if you hit or not, you always hit because these are super heroes; they don't miss. The card system actually works well with their powers.

Voice acting is great and fits all the heroes (especially Tony Stark) very well.

But I do have some misgivings about the title: it has strange performance issues at times, the battles tend to get a bit same'ish as you enter the later stages of the game, and the friendship system is a bit lacking but overall fun to go through just to get to know the heroes. But the biggest problem I have is with the ending of the game, and it just feels like a sequel bait. This will be fine if we get a sequel, but thats still up in the air.

I honestly think this game would have been better as an RPG, but that's just me.

This was an impromptu review early in the morning, there will be issues and english is not my native language.

Final score

7/10 Gamma Coils

This is a game that has clearly been influenced by a mixture of X-com, Final Fantasy Tactics among other Jrpgs. Its suprisingly deep, lots of classes, skills, crafting and bunches of characters.

I was sceptical about the story at first, but it does work and the characters are very likable. I have yet to finish this game, nor am i even close to doing so. So for now, i wholeheartedly recommend this game and will update it once i finish it, def a hidden gem.

**Edit**
This review is no longer valid, Durante has worked with Nisa on a heafty patch that promises to fix the broken mess that was this game. I shall play this again and update my review accordingly should the game now work as intended

**Edit 2**
After playing for a few hours I can happily say that the issues I had earlier are fixed, durante and his team has done amazing work on this port. Not only did they fix the issues I had they also made the game prettier and added a bit more options to the graphics settings. I have changed my negative into a positive for now and will once again update this when I have played enough for a proper review
*********

I was looking forward to playing this game on PC, but unfortunately I cannot due to its porting issues, yes, I know that they have fixed the game quite a bit since launch but issues still persist for a lot of people.

Numerous graphical glitches, stutters, gsync issues and crashes were enough for me to refund this game. This is not to say that this game is bad, far from it, it's a fantastic game if you can play it.

And before people tell me to get a better computer because they can run it, my computer is quite good, 1080TI, I7 8700k 3.7 GHz, 32GB ram among other things. I should not have these problems.

The first Beat Hazard was absolutely amazing and the second game implements the age old saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it", this game is everything the first game was and so much more. Better graphics, better music handling, more sources to pull music from, ship creator, workshop, better enemies & bosses, more weapons, better perks system and more ships.

Each song has its own randomly generated ship, with its own looks and stats, this ship in turn also has one module that will boost your ship, for example, there are modules that boost damage, pickup force, speed etc. This module comes in a variety of rarities, Legendary being the best and common the worst.

The said ship also comes with four shadow ops missions and you need to beat at least three of these missions to unlock the module, once it's been unlocked you can use it in any ship you want. So there is a good reason to play lots of different songs and acquire as many modules as you can to build your perfect ship.

One important thing to note is that you do not have to delve into this whole ship customization part, you can simply just use the standard ship and really ignore that part of the game if you so choose. The standard ship has its own leader boards on songs so you do not have to worry about having to deal with other players and their modded ships.

You can also earn special versions of ships, their elite versions if you will. These are generally quite good but the only way to earn these ships is to participate in one of the two daily challenges.

The lightning challenge will refresh every 4 hours with a new song to beat, if you are one of the top ten players in that challenge when the timer runs out, you will be awarded with the special ship.

The same goes for the daily challenge, this particular challenge refreshes every 24 hours. Otherwise, it functions the same as the lightning challenge. If you manage to be one on the very top of either challenges when the timer runs out, you will be awarded with a special achievement.

I touched on this a little earlier with saying it has more sources to pull music from and one of this game's best new additions is the open mic function. You can play any song from YouTube, Spotify or anywhere really and compete with other players who played that same song. Open mic is not perfect, but all the positives far outnumber the complaints I have about it, it's a great addition.

Now I could probably blather on forever about this game but I think you get the point by now, I like the game and I would highly advise you to pick it up, especially if you were a fan of Beat Hazard.

A good way to ruin a playerbase is to add microtransactions, even worse, tying weapon stats into a PAID RNG drop is absolutely idiotic.

*Edit* This is no longer true, review changed to a positive.
