As someone who started with Elden Ring, I found this game to be insanely good. The combat is so freaking good, it actually blows Elden Ring out of the water. Obviously the game is hard, but the game trains you over time. I.e. you defeat a boss that does a certain attack and then your next area you fight enemies that do similar, but easier, moves or vice versa. I haven't even finished but I'm in the endgame now. It is so satisfying to fight these high tier enemies and I wouldn't even consider myself very good.

This isn't the most fun total war in a lot of ways, but the content and mechanics are all pretty good. This is coming from someone who actually enjoyed Troy a lot. The only "downgrade" in this game vs Troy is the units and battles aren't as cool/fun in my opinion (Troy was very fast paced, which was nice since there wasn't really cavalry). Battles in this game are a little more tactical and authentic, but without cavalry they can feel a bit on the boring side.

I don't think its worth comparing this game to other total wars honestly, because it is a SAGA game even if its not in the title. I would probably play nearly every other TW game first before this, but since I've done that already I'm enjoying this game alright.

Are you prepared to constantly die to vehicles with infinite health and super speed? That's all this game is. Even the counters don't work at all. You can try to shoot a single helicopter down ALL GAME and it will just heal instantly in the event that its flares don't work.

Its literally playing as characters in a movie and deciding which outcomes happen at each point. Gameplay is interesting and fun but not the highlight. Its the cinematics, storyline, and acting that is amazing

This game is incredibly good, all around. I didn't play through it until after the 2.0 update and it was well worth the wait. Tons of fun.

The devs refuse to fix fundamental problems with the game balance and instead insist on breaking it horribly every patch cycle with stupid arcadey stuff. And, with the incredibly toxic community you are now penalized for leaving matches that aren't fun anymore. The matchmaking will frequently put you up against 1500 ranked players when your team is only ranked 1000 and you have to just sit through it. And the VP tickers count down crazy fast, so if you struggle at the start there isn't even a chance to come back. Its honestly just better to let people leave matches.

This game is an all-time classic WW2 RTS. Tons of fun and tons of variety, but it is very difficult to learn initially. The multiplayer scene is really fun.

Man I'm 54 hours in and this game is just a drag, I'm sorry but this game is all about quantity and not quality. Pretty much everything from combat, inventory, leveling, quests, story, stealth, etc. is just mediocre in basically every way. The world is cool and the graphics are pretty good but those are the only redeeming qualities.

I really dislike the button mashing combat that takes forever, even on easy. Practically no stealth (and no 1 hits). Horrible inventory system (you never use the same weapons but just use whatever matches your level that you find). I just really dislike this game, which is a shame because I really wanted to like it. I'm one of the few that actually prefers Valhalla, I guess.

Completely new to the series but I loved MechWarrior/MechAssault games when I was a kid and I'm recently a fan of Fromsoft games.

I loved this game. It ended up having a really good story and the gameplay is just excellent. Took about 35 hours to complete and I was probably on the slower side.

Only downsides are some bosses are absolutely ridiculous, like 90% undodgeable and hard to even see, and the customization is somewhat overcomplicated.

Fun and original adventure game. Took me about 6 hours. The puzzles and stuff are all pretty easy. There is no actual dialogue, just robotic sounds and text, so that's really my only complaint, but I suppose that fits the style.

Probably best to pick it up on sale.
