I'm only ~4h in at the time of writing but this is exactly what the doctor ordered. Brings me right back to my childhood. 10/10 so far.

Masterpiece. I'm a huge Spider-Man fan, been waiting years for this to come to PC. This is exactly what I wanted out of a Spider-Man game. Just finished getting 100% of the achievements and I still am not burned out on it. Great characters, great story, lots of little side things to do, swinging feels pretty great. Can't wait for Miles Morales.

Only things I'd nitpick are the anti-magnetism is a little strong on the swinging and the hard-cap for the swinging speed could definitely be raised on PC and now-current-gen hardware, allowing more momentum to build up.

Oh, also, the alternate costumes are dope. I used the Amazing Spider-Man costume for most of my first playthrough, after that I was switching a whole lot. They're all very very well made.

Great game, runs pretty well. Worth every penny.

I'd like to amend my review now that Frogwares has updated the game; It now works well for me and ACTUALLY launches. Good job! The atmosphere is thicc, the monsters and scares are neat. It's a little rough around the edges but I'd say it's worth it for any Lovecraft fan.

Original Review: Can't get it working at all. Game either doesn't open at all or crashes right after the main menu. I've tried multiple tweaks, restarts, reinstalls, verifications, windows settings, running as admin, launch options. Simply doesn't seem to want to work. Apparently there's some bug with the engine related to newer processors, and I now have a 12600k (thank you Grand!). Buy with caution, I guess.

I have been playing this with my girlfriend through Remote Play and I can say confidently that it's one of the best LEGO games to date. We're only ~7 hours into it at time of writing but already we've been spending a lot of time just collecting as much as we can and slowly working our way through the story. It's got great humour, tons of characters, far better-feeling gameplay than most other LEGO games (even with the latency from Remote Play) and just a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to offer.

I do need to nitpick about one thing though; Clone Wars was the absolute best. This game *needs* a DLC for it, I need Ahsoka and Captain Rex and Fives and Ventress and Savage and everyone else who is Clone Wars exclusive.

If Mama the Hutt is in here, there's no reason Rex and Ahsoka shouldn't be.

I've run into some stability issues with crashing and black-screens on load, but this game is still a 10/10. The world is so densely packed with things to discover and fight that it kind of makes me realize how empty Breath of the Wild truly was. Absolutely love it, I'm 86 hours in and likely still have another 86 hours to go in my first playthrough to reach all the stuff I want to experience.

Anyone who likes Souls games, buy it.

So, i'll preface this by saying that while I think the core of the game is fantastic and I think a lot of the mechanics from Dying Light 1 have been improved upon, as it stands a week or so out from release; I wouldn't recommend anyone else buy the game for a few months until more patches have been put out.

Unfortunately my ~50 hours has been rife with glitches ranging from minor things like enemies appearing out of nowhere to game-breaking bugs.

It started slow, we'd have enemies appear or disappear, quest interactions not work properly. Eventually, we ran into issues where we, in co-op, had to commit suicide multiple times to get the NPC character to move beyond a point where they just.. stopped moving and responding entirely.

Then when I went to play singleplayer again, I hit the dreaded death loop. I spawn into the game dead, and then when I respawn I die in 5 seconds. "Outside of mission area" it says. So my main save file that has ~40+ hours in it is now entirely unplayable outside of co-op.

Speaking of co-op, my girlfriend and I ran into issues where we simply could not interact with any characters, objectives or loot. It took multiple restarts, suicides, fast travels and other shenanigans to get it working again. Nearly another game-breaking bug.

We constantly have issues where the 'rep' points for the factions double or halve, more often than not the number of perk points with our chosen faction is entirely wrong.

Girlfriend has run into audio issues where the zipper sound of her paraglider was playing for over 30 minutes.

We've run into so many softlocks that have required us to reset to the last checkpoint via suicide that I've lost count, likely near two dozen at this point.

All of this is to say, there is a good game under all of this mess. A *very* good game, but the issues at hand are just adding up and adding up. So, if you were a fan of the first game, or zombie games in general, pick it up. Buuuut maybe wait and grab it 2-6 months from now.

Early Access Review
Extraordinarily satisfying gameplay and unlock system, fun to pick up and do a few runs here and there. Can't beat the price.

Great game, but nothing you should purchase right now.

Currently there is a hack going around that makes it so on the individual servers, nobodies HP can go below 1. This makes these servers entirely unplayable. Unfortunately, as I understand it, they require someone to manually restart the servers - which obviously EA hasn't been doing. This will likely make it so sometime soon, there are no playable servers left.

Skip it until they do something about it.
