This will be a long (And often revised) review.

If you haven't watched through this game completely yet, I HIGHLY suggest playing it yourself since major elements don't hit the same if they're spoiled. I wasn't expecting much from this game, a cool card-game with a neat theme was enough to hook me, and now I find out all this other stuff in the game!? It was incredible, I think this might be my "Best" game.

Not favourite, not greatest, but Best. It's not perfect as many other reviews will mention, the early part of the game certainly draws players the most, mid-game tiring or irritating players since it introduces new mechanics all at once, and the endgame is also very enjoyable and different enough from the start to feel unique, though players at this point are likely exhausted from the mid-game. I highly recommend taking this game in short sprints rather than trying to complete it ASAP: This game saves really well, so take a break at any time!

The art style is really pleasing throughout, with the start certainly having a VHS-style horror to it, the lighting and VHS overlay making everything seem so real simply put through a bad footage filter, helping to trick you into immersion. The audio early on is great, not to mention the cold open can really get you on edge.

This game is worth it, I've had friends say they didn't realise just what this game had to offer and are glad they revisited it. Many players have voiced their opinions and they seem to line up, such that the developer is creating a beta to support their choices.

I don't enjoy the cut-away elements that happen later on, but they are at the least quite interesting. The game is fun to replay, however parts like this can really ruin your fun because you keep going "Ah, again?" especially since these parts are accessible on the menu once you've completed the game.

So! Did you know the card you craft against Giddy is indeed sent to another player? That's right, the one you received and the one you sent were from and to real people! Mine helped win a game, a nice 3 1 flying I believe. On a later attempt I of course copied Markipliers "Dr Fire Esq" however no one was able to receive it. I was actually able to beat a boss "Too soon" since I had a mothman who destroyed the poor bears and defeated the boss. His eyes remain red if you do this it's so cool! Immortal Squirrels are beautiful. The mod is worth checking out even if its in beta, I still can't beat more than 3 bosses despite beating the base game over many times!
