4/5
I 100%'d Wizard of Legend, and enjoyed it quite a bit, but there are some quirks / set backs worth mentioning.

Pros:
- Game play is _very_ tough until you get into the rhythm of things.
- Character movement is pretty snappy, the "weight" of the controls feels great.
- The art style is very pleasing
- There are a large variety of spells and items to find and earn, some feel a little useless,
but there are so many combinations that you can legitimately expirement with "builds" if you're into that.
- Surviving harder rooms ends up being extremely satisfying.

Cons:
- The tile sets for the randomized levels are not plentiful enough, after just a few playthroughs,
every room your encounter will be one you're familliar with.
- There are no secret rooms or hidden challenges during playthrough, which would have added a lot of flavor to the title.
- If you're playing on a controller, you can sometimes get cheesed by enemies due to poor line of sight / clipping.
- I did get stuck in a wall twice, and had the portal to the next level not open once, resulting in lost progress / hard reset.
- There is very VERY little clarity on what some of the items do, even using the wiki to see what an item does, you can often find yourself wondering how a mechanic works, because it references unlabeled mechanics in the game, which in turn makes a lot of the items feel pointless and you'll ultimately pass them over as a waste of time.

Overall, the game was still very enjoyable, getting a nice lineup of spells and tearing through a level with barrages of magic being thrown from your hands is extremely satisfying, despite the lack of variety in maps / monsters / etc, I never ended up feeling like it was a grind to 100% it in the ~30hr of gameplay it provided me before 100%-ing. This game is definitely worth your time as it stands, even though I hope they polish it up a little in the future.

This game is extremely fun and has kept me hooked.
Watching the Vlambeer team stream the dev progression of this game on a regular basis has made me feel much more connected with the game as whole. The game itself can be very difficult and sometimes you'll get backed into a corner by RNG which can be frustrating, but jumping right back in is always a blast. This game always has you on the edge of your seat, PLAY THIS GAME.

Had some good laughs. This game is really short, though. Unless you can find interest in replay value by going back through the game looking for secrets, easter eggs, or playing co-op, just keep in mind I managed to roll the credits after roughly an hour and a half. To me, that's not a big deal, but some get upset at short-lengthed games.

One of my favorite games of 2011. EVERYTHING came together perfectly in Bastion. The animation, narration, gameplay/pace and item/world progression was all done so well. This is what games should strive to be like.
