Just played this game.
Don't know what to say.
Is it good?
Is it bad?
Is it even possible to take this point of view to it?

Well. I don't know. Maybe you play it and tell me?

I was looking for something regular... no special game. I wanted to play something that is easy and that I've known for years - like Super Mario or sth like that.
What I got was a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ new %(!/§(%/ experience of how a Jump'n'Run can be.
If you are younger than 15: DO NOT PLAY
If you get scared very fast: DO NOT PLAY
If you download this game at night to play something happy and colourful: DO! NOT! PLAY!

I had to finish this in 2 days. 10/10

This "game" must not be called a "game".
This is art.

(This review will be a little longer, as you do no have the time to read it, look for another game. Then this game does not suit you at all... You can try to give a long or short review on Everlasting Summer - but no matter how many words are used for this... it is not possible to describe this the way it deserves)

First of all, I did not know that there even exist so-called Visual Novels (VN, as I heard).
Or to be more precisely, that this is the name for it.

As I read the description of ES, I thought this will be the typical japano-dating-game-style. As a kid I once liked them a lot, but now I would have immediately lost all interest of this game... but thanks to the other reviews.
They were in a way that positive, I was so curious about this game - I had to download it. And this was one of the best decisions in my life!

You are Semyon - a grown-up-man who managed to get into a pioneers camp. In the 80's. You are much younger now - 17 years old - and have no idea how you came there and what you shall do to return to your proper life.

This question is constantly in the narrators mind... but you have not much time to search for answers. In the camp there are other pioneers, always trying to have a talk to you and there is a camp leader which personal slave 24/7 you seem to be. Quite annoying, huh?

My first opinion while playing this game was like "what the ?! I do not have many options to decide on... at which point can I influence the story???"
After some hours I started to realize: I do have some options, maybe quite a lot [and you have a lot!] but the passages between my decisions are so well and lovely written that it seems as an eternity first... but as continuing ES you get caught by the story and you CANNOT stop reading this. (30 hours playtime in 4 days do speak its own language)

As it behaves when you finish a good book, the same it does when finishing ES. You are happy of the time you spent with it, but you feel sad as if you have lost a very good friend.

After my first playthrough, I went back to the reviews again... and what did I read? 13 different endings?!?
13??
So you really have a lot of influence to the story...

So I started to play this again... and again... and it just got more interesting!
You learn so much new about each character and its behaviour, you learn a lot more of how and why this happens. And you really, really have to complete each ending to understand what is going on.

I just finished with this piece of glamorous art and I am happy... satisfied.

You do understand the behaviour of the protagonist more, the older you are yourself. Often you catch yourself compairing to him, because many aspects just fit to you - big compliment to the creators of the game.

Well as I do not want to tell too much about the details, I think I'm done with my first real review of a game.
If you managed to come this far: thank you for reading
and:
download this game. It is for free, and it seems to interest you that much that you read through my review!!!

When something is that catchy, that you feel uncomfortable when you have to stop with it, then it has to mean a lot...

10/10

Edit: it's been about 9 months since playing this game and i'm still catching myself sitting in the car listening to this soundtrack
