I was a king and I lived on a hill
Where the winds would blow with a violent chill
And I ruled my lands with a golden heart
and that's when the grimdark troubles would start

They came to me, three paupers, men
They came to me and they said then
"We bade you sire, please set us free
For we have been trapped because of thee"

I looked at the men with nothing to say
How could they come before me this way?
I sent them out, and said "Be Free"
And hoped they would never trouble me

I spoke to the seer, and heard what she said
And the three cards she drew were all blood red
She said the men came from a land called Keth
And there they were called the Brothers Death

They had powers o'er the realm of life
Full of Birth and Love and Pain and Strife
And they plucked my string, made my fate snap close
And left my to write this accursed Prose

So I sit now, dying, and write my tale
Though my mind may be a horrid wail
Through my rule now I wish no gain
There were once Sixteen, only I remain
