This game is... mixed bag at best.

You may, or may not find it enjoyable. From my standpoint... this game feels like a step down, it feels like it wants to be a live-service, the game felt incomplete, the game felt lacking, the game feels unfinished.

I may just unknowingly signed up for a beta tester while paying them. But for me... I wanted to see how they're going to add more content. At the moment there's only roguelike game mode.

Barricade Limit
This pretty much clashes with a lot of the players. Some may find it enjoyable, some doesn't. And I'm one of those who finds it mixed. This feature forces me to rack up my brain and how can I utilize it, this can be very interesting once you scout the entire map and find out the best combination utilizing the limited barricade and getting a better path to create.

While that is interesting, it has it's own underlying issue...
Uncooperative mother######s

Look I've played a roblox game called Tower Defense Simulator and I know how not a single soul would ever try to cooperate with you.

The most cooperative thing in that game is whether they trust you if you can defend it while they're farming.

Here? Well let's trust them with their god #### barricade. What's that? You spammed "Barricade Here" millionth time and they still won't ####### do it? Well #### you #####! Congrats your run is dead! Because this deadbeat lame #### won't cooperate.

While I do admire the team trying to make a co-op experience, I am in fact... having fun, I am doing... what the developer intended to... But I cannot ####### tolerate that do not adhere to the developers intention...

So yeah, in conclusion, THIS WAS A BAD IDEA. LET THE HOST CONTROL WHERE THE BARRICADE GOES.
Even better, NO BARRICADE LIMIT LET US PLAY.

Side Tidbits
I do have a gripe with the animation not aligning with my clicking, this can actually throw me off and a lot of other people too. If you keep spamming clicks and then stop, for whatever reason your character will still fight off-clicks.

What's worse that you can't even cancel your attack by swapping, rendering you locked in your weapon until you figure it out if you have swapped it yet. I hope this can be fixed though.

I do really like the melee, locking onto the orcs is really a great feature, but with the off-clicking animation still present... I hope they can fix it.

My only fear right now is the linear progression, once you completely unlock everything I don't think there's remotely anything to progress even further which emphasize in my second sentences.

Orc Must Die 3 is... I would say the easiest entry out of previous series. A lot of traps are dumbed down, weapons are insanely stronger. There are not many orcs that are resistant to specific types. It is very easy to cheese through the whole level with the traps, especially on Lord Rift difficulty as it pushes you to the limit.

Overall, it's not really that bad of a game. I genuinely enjoyed it, it is also not that incredibly co-op centric like OMD2 but it sure is an enjoyable experience for newer player that wants to get into the game.

Should you buy this game? Well let's just say that you're gonna be a tester.

But from my own experience, I suppose it is fun... with friends.

A lot of the problem stems from the awful performance and it's safe to say that... it still not performing well. But that doesn't entirely stop me from playing the game. It had potential and that potential is one day the game will be playable for medium range cards and I hope it comes to that.

The game is so much fun when the performance doesn't go against you.

As for the AI, expect the level of Ubisoft tier AI, except that they're deadlier. the AI will try to 180 degree and shoot you and oftentimes will attempt to headshot you, as of the recent update their reaction is a bit more off now, so when they spot you they have few seconds to fire back at you.

Their reaction are much more worse during the night since they get a peripheral view, so you can get a chance to fire back at them in the open during the night, but do keep in mind that night also makes it difficult to find them, so there is a drawback for both AI and players.

EDIT: WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL IS GOING ON TO THIS COMPANY??????

YO??????? SBZ???? OVK???? PULLING INVESTMENT AWAY????

=====================

Truth to be told this game is fun, BUT it lacks of content... and for the ultimate edition that you pay for during the first road map is definitely... not gonna be worth down the line.

The gameplay is definitely a far cry from their own previous popular entry, if you use to zerking a lot well, forget about it.

You're going to deal with spongy enemies on higher difficulty instead and is it bad? Well let's just say that they're not satisfying.

Instead of the usual hipfiring gaemplay you're pretty much forced to right click or you can equip a skill that allows you to hipfire much better BUT you will have to crouch to fully utilize it.

Your Final Challenge. You have to right click to aim and shoot.

Hell na yo ass tweakin Jigsaw

---------------------------------------

The other problem is the armor system, I'd say it is negatively frown upon, but also at the same time, it's a good feature.

Because the Armor Bag in PAYDAY 2 were relatively a cosmetic, something to show off if you're missing a frontal lobe.

Now with you having an Armor Bag in your inventory, you will be seen as a saint but that doesn't mean Medic Bag or everything else will become redundant, it forces all players to have a different sets of bag.

As long as they're not a console player or just straight up never reads the chat.

In addition to this, if everyone else is bringing the same bag, well don't worry, you can still trade hostage (if you have manipulator) for resource which is ABSOLUTELY A MUST on Death Wish.

What I mean by that, you will ran out of resource soon enough and you won't be able to sustain yourself due to the armor system act as another health system. But that's not even the worst part.

The worst part is when you're about at the end and you have yet secure the bag.

Just like in PAYDAY 2, there's going to be a final assault in which the cops will never stop spawning until you escape.

At this point, it's just a battle of attrition to see if you can last long enough or completing the objective without getting stalled or... everyone is in custody.

It can be a hectic match, but unfortunately I just never dig this idea that there's an infinite amount of cops just trying to stop you, it feels lazy and just a cheap tactic to increase the intensity for the gameplay, because the odds is pretty much against you at this point.

It feels similar to HELLDIVERS 2, but in this game you don't have 380mm stratagem to scorch all the cops in the game. Even with OVERKILL weapons, the odds are still against you.

But it doesn't change the fact that...

==============================

One man developer on Roblox that inspires from Payday's mechanic made a fun game than a Multi-million dollar company.

How the hell did you fumble that.

If you do not know what I mean, check out Entry Point, it's a really good indie game.

==============================

Well what about the stealth section of the gameplay? Well let's just say that some of the objective in loud and stealth isn't any different.

I believe Fear & Greed is a perfect example of this, loud and stealth having the same objective and believe me, stealth is much harder than loud because the level was designed for loud to begin with.

There's this part where you have to look for code and all you have to do is go to the crowded area full of civilians, good luck trying to hide from their sights because it is super janky.

Well did I say loud and stealth isn't any different? I lied, some levels do have different objective but I believe a lot of recent ones (DLC) doesn't even have a lot of different objective and still goes through the same objective as loud anyway but in stealth.

There's definitely a lot of improvement from the previous iteration, you can hack the cameras, walking up on their back no longer spot you... Oh yeah now the guards can hear your footstep if you run, that'll oughta slow you down.

Overall... it's just Payday. The game just suffers with the lack of content.

Oh yeah the Skill Tree Researching sucks overhaul that garbage OVK.

This game is just an absolute miss, atmospherically nothing holds the candle that makes you feel like you're in the zombie apocalypse unlike Dying Light 1 where you can actually feel what has happened.

While Dying Light 2, you don't feel these type of creepiness anymore, it's done as it is, the world is dying because... it is.
It really reminds me of Fable 3 where the creator felt like they shouldn't have advanced their settings and themes and it really hits home with this one.

The parkour is definitely not perfect by any mean, it has been tailored to move point A to B much faster than it was before and I appreciate that, but at the same time it still isn't good.

Your main of transportation is no longer just using your feet, you will mostly slide your butts off the ground 70% of the playthrough because that method is just incredibly faster than a full dart, at that point you're just sliding around in the playground just to meet your ends meet.

Not to mention that climbing in this game just felt suffocating, the moment when Aiden starts to climb a building and grabbed something that you didn't look for, it came to halt for few seconds until Aiden starts to grab something again. Which forces you avoid trying to climb the building as it is punishes you for doing it.

The map itself is not very memorable, I know DL1 maps well more than DL2 maps and I'd probably Ace it if there's a game for it.
I want to give details about DL2 maps, but unfortunately I forgot because that's how unmemorable it is.

The story is just... isn't interesting, I honestly wished for streamlined experiences without me interacting with these dialogue choices. The reason why people wanted dialogue choices in the game because in Dying Light 1 where Crane dumped GRE Boxes into fire and think if we have an option instead of what's happening right now.

And honestly, they shouldn't have done that and now I get to do a choices for something mid and something mid.

As for combat, it's definitely step improvement instead of instantly stabbing these mobs. That's the only praises that I can give.

TL;DR
I don't like the apocalypse greeny scenery settings, I think it's dull, parkour is still is janky while allowing you to be fast, I don't care about stories give us streamlined experiences, combat alright.

Well, new adventures really did await for me, buddy.

Edit:

If possible can you give my money to the developers, not Bo Andersson? If you can't please spit his ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ food for me? thanks.
