Runs great. Decent story, interesting mechanics, fun gameplay. Just simple fun.

Some of you are eyeing this game thinking it's an alternative to Star Citizen. It is, and it isn't. And that's just it - This game is the embodiment of a contradiction. It's difficult, but simple. It's simple, yet robust. It's robust, yet realistic. And it's realistic despite being a completely unreal experience. Nothing about this game makes sense, yet everything about this game just feels right. You're not going to like it at first - It took me YEARS to revisit this game and learn to love it - But it's a great game if you're the patient type of person. See, Star Citizen is all about the destination, but Elite is all about the journey. Star Citizen is a game where you can tell your friends what you saw, Elite is a game where you can tell your friends what you did. Despite being practically the same game, you'll love them both for totally different reasons.

What you need to know about Elite is that this is a game that won't hold your hand. This is a game that will dump you right into the middle of another world with no context for as to what is going on at all. This is a game that accurately conveys just how freaking hard it would be to fly a space ship in real life. This is a game where you are permanently lost, and always will be. This is a frustrating game that has no right being this difficult.

And that's what makes this game so great.

The game doesn't hold your hand because it would remove the sense of accomplishment you feel when you finally master flying your ships. The game dumps you into the middle of another world with no context because that's exactly what it is - A world that's existed virtually for a long time, has developed in real time, and you're just now finding out about it. The game accurately conveys just how difficult it would be to fly a spaceship in real life, but also how analogous it is to driving a car or riding a bike once you get familiar. This is a game where you'll be permanently lost, because there is always something new to discover. This game will be frustrating at first, but you'll feel a sense of genuine accomplishment when you realize how simple it becomes to you later.

I cannot recommend this game enough. If you love space simulators or Star Citizen as much as I do, you will no doubt enjoy this game. And with the Odyssey expansion coming out soon, you only have more to look forward to.

I'm not really a fan of these top-down 2D survival/crafting games, but this one is different. Rimworld is the kind of game that lets the player decide how to play it. And if you run out of ways to play it, there's always mods available. This game truly has no boundaries. You can make your own little society and take care of your characters, or commit unspeakable atrocities. The choice is yours. No matter what you decide, you'll be rewarded for it. If you're on the fence about buying this game, I recommend looking up a video review of it on YouTube that was uploaded by a content creator named "SsethTzeentach." His review is what sold me on the game, and I think it does a better job of explaining things in more depth than I ever could.

Early Access Review
Broken, buggy mess. Everyone else seems to 1-shot you in the EXACT same spot every time. Not even sure if it's a bug or people cheating at this point. On top of this, The Farm 51 has moved onto a new project without having completed this one. This game is the pinnacle of early access games on Steam, being nothing more than highly polished turds and minimal support from the developers.

EDIT: Since going F2P I decided I'd take a look again. Game took almost a day to download despite having gigabit internet. Now that the download is done the servers are down. Really not a good look for you, TF51, especially since I apparently get nothing for having paid for this game now that it's free.

This game is free, doesn't nickel and dime you the whole way, and has more active players than BF4 and BF2042 combined. It's the best FPS of 202X and that's because the devs actually try. Even if they miss the mark 9 times out of 10, the base mechanics of the game are still good enough to justify playing.

EDIT: 600 hours later and I still feel the same way. Check this game out. It'll kick your ass at first but it's worth putting the time in.

It might not be a traditional Rainbow game, but it's fun in its own way. I spent many hours, made many friends, and have worked my way up the ranked ladder. No other game seems to scratch my FPS itch the way Siege seems to. Ubisoft have really outdone themselves with this title, and I look forward to each and every update (even if I don't actively play it anymore)!
