This game has the same viscerally satisfying, fun melee combat of chivalry while also improving on the biggest problems that chiv has: super exploitable attack and movement systems that has people staring into the sky and contorting their bodies in weird ways to create unblockable attacks for super exploity tryhard types. The combat in this game feels much more organic and natural and less exploitable.

The magic is well integrated - the game is still primarily about melee combat and not magic, so the magic tends to augment and support the players rather than steal the show entirely. None of it is too powerful, and you can block (and often reflect) all the types of magic. And given the fantastic nature of the magic, it creates a lot of hilarious and awesome ragdolls when you kill people with some of the spells.

The classes seem well designed and definitely different from each other. There's less weapon variety in Chivalry but with each class having choices from 6 possible magic abiliities it ends up feeling more varied.

Overall, it feels fun and satisfying. Sometimes games get some weird circle jerk around them where a few initial reactions are negative and everyone else jumps on the bandwagon to hate a game in a way that's not deserved and I feel like the discussion around the game shows some of that here. Which is too bad, because this is a solid, fun game.

Simplistic gameplay from a mobile port. If you like the concept, get doorkickers where it's done better.

Solid shooty mechanics, fun aesthetic, dual katanas. Worth a few bucks.
