In reality, Zoochosis is one of the biggest gaming letdowns in a long time. For what you get, the game is way overpriced. It is not worth 25$ USD due to being riddled with bugs and multiple areas where you can easily soft lock yourself. The tutorial is fun, though doesn't go through everything and after I was left to my own devices I had been so confused on the "sound" and "blood" mechanic because the tutorial didn't go through it. The story itself is also confusing and leaves much to be desired. There are many different plot holes. Like, you'd just grab a slab of mystery meat, of animal food, and give it to your wife to eat? I was so confused when seeing that part. I had noticed that this game had also been inspired by Resident Evil 7 and 8, though it doesn't hold the same charm a RE inspired game would have.

Onto gameplay. The gameplay itself is confusing at first and it's a learning curve. After the learning curve is over, the gameplay itself is very linear. It's practically the same thing over and over again, and to be honest it does get boring. You go in and find symptoms, go back to get the medicine from the mobile vet station, and then an animal mutates. I started a new game+ and went to the hippo enclosure and did my normal thing. However, I didn't have the medicine to cure the infected animal so I was forced to put it down, which truthfully I don't understand as I should've had the medicine to cure the animal. After a few hours of gameplay, it gets boring. It's repetitive and the story doesn't unlock itself like it would in a RE game, which again this game is inspired by. You have to go out of your way to find the story, and maybe for some people like that but I'm not one of them.

As much as I truly enjoy this game, there are unfortunately a few things that keep me from adding a positive review. The main concern I have is that I had done everything correctly as in locating which body was possessed, putting the mark on the body, embalming every body, looking out for every sign (including major physical wounds), and yet I still end up getting it wrong after triple checking everything. I seem to not be the only one with this issue, either. This has happened to me at least four times when playing the game. There are other issues where I seem to have to shift+tab to get out of a menu which I can't click. I also sometimes get the gourney stuck, and it won't go into the cremation chute. Which, in turn makes me unable to press the red button.

The scares are pretty good, and it overall has an incredibly dark theme which I enjoy. For 25$, this game is absolutely not worth it due to the influx of bugs and lack of content within. It's fun, but watching a youtuber play it gives you the same experience.

Honestly, the game is fun and all and it's well made. However, the people playing it are jerks to new players. On my first multiplayer match, I was told to end my life because I didn't have an upgraded flashlight? Instant refund, do not recommend.
