Friendship ended with other games, now Baldur's Gate 3 is my best friend

Like it or not, Apex Legends is almost certainly the best first person shooter released in the last 5 years, and it's hardly even close.

Consistent Content, a Bug Free Release, full game playable for free, excellent gun play, a revolutionary ping system that other games have attempted to copy but can't replicate as well, strong character diversity, (mostly) strong weapon balance with consistent balance tuning and meta shake ups, and a high skill ceiling in both technical skill and game sense.

The largest strike against Apex is it's pricing model for the paid cosmetic shop, which, frankly, is absurdly high for many high end items. This is something I can easily look past due to the game being FTP, and the model of the season pass, which rewards you more premium currency than you spent to get it should you complete it. Yes, while slightly grind-y, I feel no issue with a live service model game incentivising playtime from dedicated players, it's a smart move for a business, I can't blame them, and the core game play is so strong I don't really notice.

Comparatively to it's major competitors, Call of Duty and Fortnite, Apex should appeal to every major shooter fan in basically every aspect. The largest improvement the game could offer would be keeping limited time modes around indefinitely, such as Control and Gun Run more casual TDM style modes.

Titanfall should have been a titan of our industry, but poor release timing hindered it's success. Apex is a worthy successor, though I pray that Titanfall can continue to live on despite the success of Apex

Cool Mass-Effect-Lite kind of feel with dialogue and story choices and morality system.

Wow. This game is completely derivative of Emily is Away, basically steals the plot, and is more poorly executed in basically every way, from the writing quality, realism, not even having a strong ending. It's like if a teenager who liked emily is away made their own version to try and feel better because they couldn't deal with heartbreak existing.
I feel like the people who enjoyed this game hadn't experienced Emily Is Away, and or are sappy teens who read fake texting stories on snapchat.
Animation was cool at least.
Just play Emily Is Away.

This game's ideas were ahead of its time. Although some of the game play is clearly dated, the actual FEEL of playing this game and playing as someone playing an MMO just feels great. When you let yourself get absorbed in that part of the game, its excellent, if you can look past some of the -iffy story telling.
