Salutations!

So... this game has just recieved its, shall I call it, big revival update.
Virtually every aspect and feature of the game has been enlightened by a novelty
that I felt immidiately upon playing again. All thanks to numerous improvements
the developers have taken their time with.

One of the surprising changes is the option to set the skill of your AI teammates.
This option is independent from the game difficulty you set and allows to either
give yourself further challenge or relief on higher difficulties if you play alone or
with incomplete coop party.

The new monsters and boss really spiced up the difficulty curve too and I really
enjoy that. Somehow even the graphics are way better than before, I think
its because of changes to the overall lightning.

However, I dislike how audio is still handled by the game. The aliens do barely any noise/grunts
when hauling at player's position and the gunfire sounds of your teammates are almost nonexistent.
It feels like the audio is dampening to favor the performance and framerate as it does
these weird things especially when a lot is happening on the screen and in combat.
Even the weapon reloading animations sounds cut off completly sometimes.

Speaking of performance and framerate, I am more than happy to say the stress this
game puts on GPU and CPU has been considerably reduced. It is not respectable yet
but as long as I hit constant 60 FPS at 1080p, I can't complain and luckily that is the case for me.
For info my GPU is Nvidia GF 1070, CPU is i5 3570k. 16 GB RAM, OS Win10.
High graphics preset puts up to 70% load on my GPU and up to 85% on CPU.
In average they both tend to sit at 60% of usage.
I also manually locked my framerate to 60 FPS via Nvidia Profile Inspector as I don't
require more than that at the moment.

I strive to see more of the second campaign and I certainly hope the developers
are gonna provide the rest of it soon. I was a bit dissapointed that only 1 chapter
made it to this update, but thankfully I got calmed down by the many core
game improvements which are just praiseworthy. But that isn't going to last forever
as replayability either depends on a lot of content or some sort of persistance system
such as leveling up or leaderboards, events and further gamemode customization.
I don't know in which direction Earthfall will take the mentioned replayability, but
any of these choices I'd welcome with open arms.

I can't go into more details about this update as I feel an urge to explore it further.
So right now I put out these positive impressions wildly as I feel this game deserves them.
I hope to expand this review soon and I'd love to see the playerbase expand as well.

This game is a joy to play! The main goal I set
for myself these days is to explore the Eden city
as much as possible. It's stylishly designed and
feels big enough, considering only about half
of it is currently available to access.

Numerous ways to upgrade your character, full
body awarness, base building, managing well
balanced survival aspects such as hunger/thirst
and city's power grid to better light your
surroundings and many other features are
there to fulfill this game's ambitious potentional,
which is glorified by the active developers, who
update the game very often, so far.

If you put current technical issues aside, including
bugs, which the devs fix with frequent updates,
then you got yourself a solid EA title to enjoy.
See Bug and Crash Reports sub forum in this game's
Steam hub discussions and judge for yourself if you
can bare those issues for now, or wait
for more stable version.

Some of my personal wishes for the future
of this game are for example, harder
enemies, because I feel with so many cool
special powers and upgrades to obtain and
use, the threat they posses would become
obsolete at some point. Another wish is to put
more emphasis to melee combat and flow of
the player movement. Maybe add sliding,
takedowns, vaulting over objects, special counter
attack animations, just that sort of thing. I'd think
of few more wishes, but at this stage the developers
are the main source of realizing especially
their fantastic ideas.

Every step you make in this game is an obscure emotinal
mix towards a mastercrafted journey. Uncovering troublesome
mysteries of many thoughts, hinting, you are not welcome on
this hauntingly exotic planet called Gliese-6143-C, which also
happens to be the uncertain final destination of mankind.

Are you strong enough to prevail harsh n' hostile conditions
serving unforgiving survival circumstances
on your way to become our savior?

In any case, You will experience the refined power of
Unreal Engine 4, breathtaking art style, dynamic brutal weather
and natural disasters even with changing ocean tide that reviels
new paths for you to explore. Coated in adaptive n' adjustable
difficulty, you are the one who decides to either play the game
in peace or with severly realistic penalties to your in-game
character's well-being. Semi-linear robust caves and big islands
changing their presentation accordingly to your actions and
progress in the engaging story are just a fine joy to
travel by, anytime. Incredible audio design makes sure you
don't forget you are just a pawn in this cruel, yet beautiful world.

10/10 Masterpiece.

By the way...
THIS GAME IS THE REAL SHINING EXAMPLE OF EARLY ACCESS DONE RIGHT!

This game is a compact fun, which i like and keep coming back to every now and then.
There's something for everyone to enjoy about this game, especially as an pleasant
alternative to other games one usually plays.

POSITIVES:

+ graphics which capture spaceship interiors to a satisfacting degree

+ memorable soundtrack pieces

+ pretty base of operations to interact with, in-between missions

+ smooth ARPG elements which add a lot to the replayability

+ varied enemies, mini to big bosses fights, it's not just zombies

+ multiple gamemodes + standalone PVP!

+ combat has a weird feel to it which somehow grows on you the more
you play in a good way, including impressive amount of
weaponry, gear and special abilities

+ dynamic COOP

+ engaging loot system and it's distribution of items is fair, there's no need to
grind your way about it

+ 3 player characters to choose from and you can switch between
them easily from the main menu, each has their own cheesy voice acting
which is acceptable because it's part of the game's lore...

+ speaking of the lore, cheesiness, B-movie styled presentation with according
stereotypes are fitting this game well enough

+ friendly and humble developers who take exceptional care of the game's
development so far!!

+ bounty/side tasks system which has been added just recently boosts the
replayability further

NEGATIVES:

- small player base/community

- productions values are low, definitely not up to standards of many players
in already overcrowded market of "zombie styled" games

- game has a great amount of replayability, as i mentioned in the positives section,
but that comes with inevitable repetitivness, a bad feeling which will get to everyone at
early and certain point after X hours played

- optimization is lacking, don't expect solid framerate,
especially in COOP, though it's not as bad as it might sound, there is a good
amount of graphical options to adjust and developers improved the performance over
the time game's been in early access, I blame Unity engine capabilities more than
anything else...

To conclude this review I'm amazed by the huge difference from the mobile version of this game.
The PC version plays like "Dead Effect 3" compared to the mobile version. :D

Great job on this game and I'm surely looking forward to it's hopefully
successfull foreseeable future!
