I resisted this game for several months after reading reviews of people losing bases they'd built. I then found from a friend that's actually because those are missions, not an open world.

SO FOR ANYONE WHO READS THIS, IN THE OPEN WORLD YOU DO NOT LOSE YOUR BASE, ONLY FROM MISSIONS.

The missions give you the entire experience of the open world in a smaller package. The joy of survival games is in the initial few hours, when you are making your first base, defending it, preparing to take on your mission/etc.

They breathed new life into this game when I started co-op doing the missions with a friend. Looking at a mission, getting a base built up, going to fight things. I would put this easily in the top 5 games survival that I've played. The environment interactions, the fact the developers keep doing things to improve the game have really done so much to make it more enjoyable.

Game has a few bugs here and there, but has a fun story and enjoyable. Controls are a bit janky at times, but workable. With a friend the story is real fun

A game once reviled for failed promises has become one of the greatest space exploration games ever.

Hello Games has done what no other company attempted and turned a massively derided game into one of the best ever

The coop updates have made it so much fun lately

Tons of bugs where you have to save and come back, the game has a ton of potential, and is enjoyable, but the frustration caused by the bugs stops me from going further more refinement happens

Overall this game is a great concept, but the building is so buggy that you lose resources constantly. Melee combat is horrible. With some more refinement would be great, but as is needs a lot more polish to be a great game

VIKINGS + MEAD + CRAFTING

Really interesting survival mechanics. I personally think there is something slightly missing, an additional element of danger maybe, but worth your time. Really fun story involved.

Bugs aside, the game has a great story, is fun to play. I feel I've gotten my moneys worth out of it
