A cult classic franchise, practically the Chinese equivalent of Final Fantasy, shrouded in a technical disaster.

Pros
Cons
✔️ With political intrigue and several plot twists, the religious story is incredibly deep. It is known for being the Chinese counterpart to Final Fantasy, and rightly so.
❌ About every 30-60 minutes the game crashes for a variety of reasons on Win10, most often after a battle. I've found a partial solution to this problem, which I describe in this guide.
✔️ I had a great deal of empathy for practically all of the team members and their interactions, which are many and surprisingly profound.
❌ There are no graphics settings, and the only things you can modify are the text speed and two effect/music audio sliders.
✔️ Both the game's soundtrack and graphic style are fantastic. I often caught myself simply taking in while listening to the OST.
❌ An incredible amount of text is spelled and formatted incorrectly, making you wonder what it was trying to say. You can see examples here and here. In addition, the text outside of the text bubbles also disappears much too quickly, so you will most likely not be able to read it in time.
✔️ A fresh concept involves gathering creatures, fusing them with other monsters to produce more powerful ones, and even merging armor and consumables.
❌ Certain sounds may abruptly stop playing after a lengthy period of time, and the only fix I've found is to restart the game.

At the moment, no, because the technical problems are so severe that my advice to anyone is to hold off on the purchase until the problems are resolved. I'll be happy to change my review to a positive one and recommend it once the technical issues are resolved.

In-Depth
Story, Gameplay, Combat & Technical Problems

In Mists Beyond the Mountains, Knight Septem of the Frankish Kingdom takes us along on his spiritual and religious quest as he battles Satan, the ruler of the underworld. In the middle of a rebellion, the church's defenders intend to execute any heretics or atheists by being crucified or burned alive. Lords and nobles with immense authority don't dare to provoke them since they are able to commit crimes at will. It is up to us to put up a fight against this oppression, avert war, and uphold the honor of King Pepin III, Lord of the Palace and King of the Franks. We therefore travel to the Lombards in the South, the Saxons in the North, and even to the Muslim countries in the West in order to obtain the great secret of the Eastern Empire, who have the knowledge of winning any war. The addition of the Chinese continent in the east, which was previously only accessible on mobile devices, is also included here.

In terms of gameplay, the whole thing is kept very simple. While running around in the open world, battles randomly appear within seconds. Once we are in a fight, we have the choice of attacking the desired opponent, using a special ability in exchange for "spiritual power", or select items. The abilities are different in nature, some of them allow us to cast spells to inflict magical damage on our target, and some of them increase our own stats. The ultimate bar fills up when we get hit or do damage, allowing us to use an ultimate attack that is unique to each character. As you play, more companions are automatically introduced, and they come in a wide variety. For example, Nicole is an underworld archer with magical abilities, while Li Jing is a spearman who deals a lot of physical damage. These characters all have a sense of importance and don't feel like afterthoughts.

One of the most interesting features is that I can capture almost any type of enemy. The captured enemies can be equipped to increase the character's stats, or we can merge the captured monsters. What happens when you merge them depends on what you are merging them with. Whether we fuse a weapon and an enemy, two enemies, or maybe just two normal items is up to us. This adds a tremendous amount of variation and allows us to create new opponents, items, or equipment that you may not have seen before. In exchange for agility, the enemies in your collection can also be of assistance for the duration of the battle.

It would be an incredibly beautiful and unique game if it weren't for the many technical problems and non-existent settings. I can somehow overlook the many spelling and translation errors (quite obviously machine translated), as well as the inability to change any of the graphical settings, but once the game started to crash, it was just too much. I was afraid the game would crash after every battle, and it was not uncommon to lose minutes of gameplay time that I had to catch up on. I'm glad to see that autosave is quite often, so progress loss is usually minimal, but still annoying. It makes it hard to focus on the game itself because you're always worried that it will be over soon. In addition, the spacing and tenses are inconsistent all the time, resulting in mixed messages. What I also noticed is that some of the abilities (Septem's ultimate attack, or even the shouts of battle victory) are so incredibly loud in comparison to the other effects.

At least the games presentation doesn't have to disguise itself. The surroundings do a wonderful job of capturing the feel of the aforementioned nations. It's splendidly illustrated, the soundtrack fits each location, and it sometimes made me think of Chrono Cross. The transition between gameplay and cutscenes is also incredibly smooth. I'm not too angry about the fact that the cutscenes appears to be so "low-res" because they look like they were rendered as a 240p YouTube video and could definitely be of higher quality. I'm all the more saddened by the overall technical state of the game, because there are so many unique elements to it.

My Specs

CPU: i9 9900k GPU: RTX 2080 Ti RAM: DDR4 32 GB RAM OS: Win10 Resolution: 1440p @144hz

Conclusion

I was actually looking forward to Xuan-Yuan Sword: Mists Beyond the Mountains. The historical and political adventure had a lot of potential because of its blend of turn-based combat, gorgeous background images, and dialog-heavy characters, and I was eager to start playing a game with such a rich history. But a terrible technological issue hides underneath the moving narrative. Xuan-Yuan III is easy to recommend once the issues have been resolved, especially for people who are simply interested in the main plot. Unfortunately, unnecessary issues like uneven fonts, unreadable dialogue, typos, and even a lack of sound in conjunction with a poor sound mix are the last nail in the coffin.

Final Verdict: 5/10 – Sadly, the game's technological issues prevented it from reaching its full potential. 💔

A game meant to bring back memories that is similar to Super Mario World on the SNES and it does this with relatively few gameplay and gimmick elements.

Pros
Cons
✔️A story very similar to that of Super Mario, except that instead of being a plumber, we are Santa Claus.
❌ The whole thing could have benefited from some more paths, more hidden exits or more plot in general, as it ends after about 20-40 minutes.
✔️ Some vividly colored environments are populated by sharp sprites, and to make it even better, the whole game runs like a dream; fast, precise, and without any stuttering that could ruin a moment of your game.
❌ The individual "power-ups" are rather shallow, as we have the Fire Flower counterpart from Super Mario (SNES) to throw rocks, but other than that we have no gimmicks to play with.
✔️The 20-minute game can also be played in a cooperative mode with 1 to 3 other people is a small, but welcome bonus.
❌ There is no save or quick save option available.
✔️ The fact that the game is relatively simple to play makes it ideal for kids and families without any prior gaming knowledge.

In-Depth
Story, Gameplay & Basics

In The Legend of Santa (TLoS) we are going to take a little sleigh ride with Santa Claus and his reindeer. After all, it has to be ready for take-off in order for children everywhere to receive their presents on schedule. But a wicked troll blasts us out of the sky just as the test drive is about to end. He went over the line and wants to ruin Christmas for everyone on Earth. It is up to us to bring the troll to his senses and save Christmas for everyone.

TLoS brings players to two worlds and twelve levels of great platforming that are reminiscent of Super Mario World (SNES) but simplified. There are only six levels total, one of which is a castle, before the final battle with the troll. The only difference is that we will be collecting chocolate cookies rather than the traditional yellow coins. We also lose part of our cloak when we are injured, so it's not uncommon for you to find yourself jumping through the levels wearing nothing but red boxer shorts. For instance, red blocks can give you a new coat, which means extra life, or Santa socks and hats, which give a power-up or simply chocolate cookies. The power-up allows you to throw stones as if you had collected the Fire Flower from Super Mario, and that's about it. TLoS also offers a 2-4 co-op player mode, in which players will be able to work together to complete this short and family-friendly adventure.

https://gtm.you1.cn/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3009359595

Similar to Super Mario World, you walk to a level to choose them in the Overworld. Once we reach a certain level, we are allowed to walk, leap, and even sprint. Additionally, there are other indications on the screen that show you how many cookies you have already gathered and how much time is remaining to finish the level. We get an extra life when 100 cookies are collected. We can activate a checkpoint about halfway through the level to pick up exactly where the checkpoint was reached, instead of having to do the entire level all over again. The game also features side-scrolling and underwater levels. The only problem is that if you quit at level three, close the game and start again, you have to start from level one, so you have to play the game in one go. This means that there are no save points or "save states". Considering the length of the game, this is not a big deal, but it's still "annoying".

My Specs

Conclusion

We are all hoping that Nintendo will release their IPs on Steam so that we can play with them one more time. We may all agree, based on experience, that this is probably never going to happen, but Indie developers are there to make it happen. To avoid the tedious teachings at school, you used to be able to play these types of games in class on the usual Flash Player websites, and now you can play them on Steam. Though it's not a masterpiece, it's extremely minimalistic, and it's unquestionably too short, the 20 minutes I spent playing it were nevertheless a lot of fun, especially because the platforming is accurate and not wonky at all. Just remember, it's very minimalistic and may be too minimalistic for some, but if that doesn't bother you, feel free to go ahead and try it out.

It would be my personal highlight if there were additional levels, more secret exits, more power-up alternatives, and more hours of overall playtime.

Final Verdict: 8/10 A typical gas station snack that turns out to be a surprisingly good one.🎅

All of Ripknot Systems Games are all achievement spam games with 5,000 achievements, or 1 if the game has profile features limited. The achievements somehow unlock all at once from your library without opening the game, which can crash Steam for the games with 5,000 of them - so simply start and close the game after a second and there you go - all achievements unlocked for a "perfect game".

As another reviewer pointed out that... another reviewer pointed out that the developer also jacked up the price of all their games so the -90% discounts would look better. You can see this on the SteamDB page for any of the games.

The dev literally went to google and searched for "Space Voyage" took the first few words and created this word search so players have to "puzzle" them together. They also include spelling mistakes, so avoid at all cost.

To fully understand C's route in Trails into Reverie and to get more background information on the new story arc (Kuro No Kiseki), it is absolutely necessary to get this, so yes: Buy it or read it online!

Considering that it provides the backstory for half of the cast of C's journey from Trails to Reverie and another character who appears, it also sets up some plot hooks for the games, so yes, it's easily one of the most important series of novels to appear in the games. It's also used to introduce Kuro no Kiseki (New Arc currently being translated into English), which is also very important. There's a reason why both Falcom and NISA made the full text available on their website as a teaser for the game before its release.

Short Introduction

Three (S) & Nine (N) is definitely my most preferred Trails book/novel series at the moment. It was also super long in comparison to others, probably about 150-200 pages in total (?). It had a great opening with the introduction of the characters while they are in disguise, which is an interesting premise. Also very interesting how the rules of the organization for assassins are applied, which makes for some cool drama. I also liked the foreshadowing in some parts, and things that you normally don't think about a lot turned out to have a lot more meaning, such as the sleepy demeanor of Nine . I can't believe how much story fit into 10 chapters, flashbacks and explanations and all. Absolutely splendid!

Length: ~2-3 hours, depending on how fast you can read.

Alterium Shift is worth checking out for fans of Grandia and Chrono Trigger, even though there are a couple of reasons that might bring the whole thing down a little bit.

Pros
Cons
✔️ A unique interlocking save system that allows you to jump back and forth between save states and make changes to the world that affect all of your characters.
❌ The story is far from complete, and every character playthrough will have a cliffhanger ending for now.
✔️ You can delve deeper into the game's storyline by looking through optional books from the library in the town of Summiton. These books will provide you with more background information, lore, and history on various things in the world.
❌ Performance issues in some areas and missing QoL (Quality of Life) features, such as the display of enemy HP bars, logbook/bestiary to see what your current mission is, or to get more information about enemies. Most of these will probably be patched in the future.
✔️ Your character selection at the beginning of the game will slightly affect the dialog and areas available.
❌ Combat is shallow and you'll quickly find yourself spamming the same spells, abilities, or attacks over and over because they're the most effective.
✔️ The game has a unique sense of humor that brings the world to life, whether you are reading the names and descriptions of tombstones, completing quests, or talking to NPCs.
❌ There are bugs in the game, as well as typos, as I tried to point out in one of my threads in order to help improve the user experience.

In-Depth
Story, Gameplay, Combat & Performance

It begins in the town of Summiton, where the three protagonists are in training as they undergo a final test before embarking on a mission to save the world of Alteria from the Dark Elves. Atlas, Pyra and Sage, are the focus of the story. Atlas will be sent on a hunting expedition in the nearby woods, while Pyra will be assigned tedious chores among the townspeople in order to learn obedience. However, when your chosen character receives a magical medallion from their tutor, a device that can open portals to other worlds, the seemingly simple mission becomes more dangerous and important.

The world offers a unique interlocking save state system that allows you to jump back and forth between save states and make changes to the world that affect all of your characters. However, you are not limited to this method and can play as one character for the duration of your adventure without switching. Each character has their own unique personality and ability that is expressed through their interactions with the environment and NPCs. The areas of the game will also slightly change depending on your character choice. The game overall has its own unique sense of humor that is expressed through dialog.

https://gtm.you1.cn/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3000949605

The look and feel of the game are reminiscent of games like Chrono Trigger. It is a nostalgic look back at an era that was all about the transition from 16-bit to 32-bit, and I've really enjoyed what I've played here so far. One big problem, however, is that what we have at the moment is a bit lacking. When I reached the cliffhanger ending and the credits rolled, I was about 4-5 hours into my Pyra run. Sure, I can now choose a different character to explore the world at different points thanks to the unique character-specific ability, but even though the story and path are slightly different, you still get more or less the same experience.

Combat also doesn't make you feel like a genius; you just do what will get you through it the fastest, and so far, that's often the same thing. What is nice, though, is that you can either see the enemies standing in the landscape before the fight (which is also the location of the fight, rather than having to switch to a separate battle screen), or they will jump out from behind bushes and cliffs. I prefer this to endless random fights, even though I rarely have a chance to avoid them. One of the other weak points is that the UI isn't always on point. Literally, sometimes I'm not sure which character/enemy I'm aiming at, and it would be nice to have a bestiary showing enemy strengths, weaknesses, and health.

Once we are in combat, we can choose to use either attack or tech skills. Through the simple process of leveling up, new tech skills will be available to us. Besides Atlas' attack and tech skills, he can use Evasion to increase his dodge chance. While Pyra uses more fire abilities and direct attacks, Atlas is more of a ranged fighter who can also buff. Sage, on the other hand, is the typical mage who has control of all the major elements (fire, earth, water, and wind) and can do damage to any opponent. So it all comes down to how you want to play the game, and the game itself will change accordingly.

https://gtm.you1.cn/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3001698493

The navigation from one place to another is also a bit difficult at times. The image detail is quite small, and the individual areas are not very easy to navigate. It is often the case that the screen will fade to the next area after a short distance and that the area looks confusingly different during the transition. This is something that Drattzy still has to work on, as well as an adventure log to help you remember what the current mission is.

As far as performance goes, it's pretty good, although you can see that a few areas need to be improved. I am playing the whole thing in 1440p at 144 fps, and there were times when I had areas that were running at 144 frames per second, and as soon as I moved on to the next area, the frame rate would drop back down to 80. This is absolutely nothing to be concerned about in a game like this, but it is an indication that there are issues that will likely be fixed in the future. Other than that, the game ran absolutely smoothly, didn't crash, and I didn't notice or know of any serious game-breaking bugs.

My Specs

CPU: i9 9900k GPU: RTX 2080 Ti RAM: DDR4 32 GB RAM OS: Win10 Resolution: 1440p @144hz

Conclusion

The familiar old-school controls, wrapped up with a beautifully crafted soundtrack, result in one of the most interesting and entertaining games out there. As you can see, it's still a work in progress, so my recommendation would be to have a look at the demo on Steam before you add Alterium Shift to your Steam wishlist. If you like what you see, feel free to give the developers your support, but then leave it alone until its full release. There are hiccups, some QoL features are missing, and every path has a cliffhanger at the end, but what's there is more than promising. I'm looking forward to seeing more content being added to it.

Final Verdict: 7.5/10 A nice, but lacking adventure with a lot of potential. 💖

The curtain has risen on the show of a lifetime, and nothing can bring it down now. This final part of Crossbell's and Erebonia's story aims to tie it all together. To get the full picture, you must have played Cold Steel I-IV, Trails from Zero, Trails to Azure, and the Sky Trilogy.

Pros
Cons
✔️ Improved cutscenes and story pacing, making this the highest quality version of The Legend of Heroes that has been translated into English to date.
❌ The story, especially if you haven't played all of the The Legend of Heroes games on Steam, can be confusing with three different paths to follow.
✔️ Playing as three different characters makes it possible to tell the same story from a variety of different points of view.
❌ Unfortunately, compared to previous games, there are fewer moments of bonding and relationship events.
✔️ To keep the game fresh and engaging, the varied and satisfying combat system builds on the foundation of the entire arc, and even then you'll unlock new mechanics and spells along the way.
❌ Occasional framedrops that you will notice if you are navigating through the menu at high speed or shortly after a loading sequence.
✔️ With constant changes in corridors and loot, the ridiculously addictive Reverie Corridor allows for an almost limitless amount of side content.
✔️ You can read the entire novel 3&9 via the main menu, as well as a story summary for the Crossbell and Erebonia Arc. The novel is excellent and gives a lot of insight into the two new characters, Nadia and Swin, from Route C.

In-Depth
Story, Gameplay & Combat

Trails into Reverie is the epilogue fans deserve after Cold Steel IV and the Great Twilight event. Each protagonist is given another chance to shine in a brilliant story that wraps up many loose ends from Cold Steel IV. The story begins with the liberation of Crossbell, home of protagonist Lloyd Bannings and his Special Support Section (SSS) squadmates. Just as the people of Crossbell are about to celebrate their independence, the villain marches in with an army at his back and declares himself Supreme Leader. His goal is to unite the entire world under his and Crossbell's rule.

Playing from the perspective of three different protagonists, and switching between them more or less at will, is what sets Trails into Reverie apart from its predecessors. On occasion, you'll be forced to switch between Rean Schwarzer, Lloyd Bannings, and a masked figure known only as "C". A different perspective on the same story adds a welcome spice, and in spite of the uneven pace, the ending is a satisfying journey that fans of the series will surely enjoy. This new system eliminates much of the side quests and exploration, making Trails into Reverie much more linear than previous games. The trade-off is that the pacing of the narrative has been greatly improved. The big events move along much more quickly, which is a much-needed change from the rather slow pacing of Cold Steel IV. Fortunately, there is a decent amount of extra content to play around with in the new addition called Reverie Corridor.

The Reverie Corridor is a massively randomized dungeon crawl experience that is new every time you play it. You can create your wildest dream combos of your favorite characters and strongest teammates with all 50 characters from the three main routes in a party. This endless sandbox of character combinations is fun enough, but it was the reward loop that kept me coming back.

You'll be able to find different colored Seal Stones as you explore the Reverie Corridor. Gold stones will unlock new characters, including some that are not normally playable in the main story. Red Stones, on the other hand, unlock ridiculous mini-games like the beach episode simulator Beachside Vay-Cay or the magical girl shooting game Magical☆Alisa LS. Blue Stones, meanwhile, unlock a wide variety of side-story episodes called Daydreams, which let you play short episodes featuring scenes and characters that don't get as much attention as they deserve in the main game. Finally, to prepare you for deeper dives into the Reverie Corridor or to continue the main story, Silver Stones unlock new equipment, consumables, clothing, and even quartz in order to get stronger.

Combat and presentation from the four Trails of Cold Steel titles are also carried over to Trails in Reverie, and there's plenty of welcome English voice acting after the last two Crossbell games that were only available with Japanese VA. Given the large cast, including 50 playable characters, it was wonderful to hear English voices in the massive script once again. Some of the newer gameplay components, such as Brave Orders and Combat Links, have also been reinstated in Trails into Reverie. A minor addition to the combat is the United Fronts mechanic, which allows you to bring in both your current party and your backup members for one big attack/party heal that will damage your enemies and provide a variety of heals/buffs for your teammates. Other than that, this top-notch combat system is essentially (and thankfully) unchanged.

Visuals & Performance

What surprised me the most is that Trails into Reverie includes animation improvements, and the game's opening movie has been recorded with in-engine footage, in addition to several quality-of-life improvements. Compared to Cold Steel III and IV, the character models are more expressive. Furthermore, the game's cutscenes have a more cinematic feel to them due to the aforementioned character model and animation improvements, which I really enjoyed. The game is all about content and quality, something that fans will be able to enjoy as they play.

While Trails into Reverie is not the most visually stunning game on the market, it is, in my opinion, a game that can really push the specs. I played the game at a high/144 fps for the most part, and I did experience a few frame drops here and there, but nothing too devastating. It will run smoothly 99.9% of the time, but you will notice a few hiccups here and there, which I am sure will be fixed. Because of some minor performance issues, I can't really fault the game too much.

My Specs

CPU: i9 9900k GPU: RTX 2080 Ti RAM: DDR4 32 GB RAM OS: Win10 Resolution: 1440p @144hz

Conclusion

Long-standing fans of the franchise will find a staggering amount of callbacks, plot twists, and fan service in western Zemuria. In between, the endless Reverie Corridor offers a compelling way to delve as deeply into the combat mechanics as the story does into Liberl, Crossbell and Erebonia Arc. Trails into Reverie is still an essential experience for fans, if not yet another good reason for newcomers to finally dive into the series. Hopefully, Kuro no Kiseki will freshen things up and push the overarching story in new directions.

Final Verdict: 9/10 A noteworthy epilogue that serves as a satisfying conclusion to various arcs. 💖

Marsupilami: Hoobadventure - Good, kid-friendly platformer with annoying flaws

The fantasy animal Marsupilami, the invention of the late cartoonist and author André Franquin, has a certain cult status among many comic fans. For this reason, many fans will have been pleased to hear that developer Microids has secured the license to use the Marsupilami in a platform game. Not so good, though, is the fact that Microids and Ocellus Studio did almost nothing with it. If you are expecting a lot of fan service, you will be disappointed: Hoobadventure offers only a hint of a story, practically no cutscenes, and apart from unlockable image galleries with concept art and 3D artwork, nothing that should make fans of the comic series happy in any way. Enemies, levels, characters, moves - everything looks good. But it seems to be interchangeable and therefore almost a bit loveless. Microids didn't necessarily have to get the Marsupilami license to make this game. Fortunately, this is also the biggest point of criticism for Marsupilami: Hoobadventure, because otherwise the platformer is quite respectable.

Good scope, weak story

The story is told quickly: The three Marsupilamis Twister, Hope and Punch have to stop an evil ghost from destroying their beloved home Palombia. The hunt for the ghost takes place in three worlds (city, jungle and temple). The game consists of 28 levels. Before each stage, you choose which of the three Marsupilamis you want to control. In terms of gameplay, your choice makes no difference since the abilities and moves of all three Marsupilamis are the same. The range of movement of the fantasy animals is also not very extensive, which makes Hoobadventure a good choice for younger players who have little experience with platform games. There are also a few action combinations, such as jumping a bit farther if you roll before, or using a spin attack from above to smash objects.

Easy mode for younger players

As the controls suggest, Marsupilami: Hoobadventure is not a highly complex platform game, especially in the first two worlds. You'll be using your Marsupilami to overcome obstacles, dodge enemies, and pull them out of the way as you happily collect fruit. You'll get an extra life for every 100 of these vitamin-packed treats. However, you'll only lose these virtual lives if you jump into a pit or (on normal difficulty) if you take damage from enemies or certain obstacles three times and lose any hearts. During the course of a level, you can also replenish these hearts.

In addition, there are several, usually fairly well-placed, reset points in each section, where you can jump back into the action. If you really run out of virtual screen lives during the course of a level, you'll get ten new ones. You'll just have to start the corresponding section all over again. This also applies to the easy mode. In this mode, falling into the abyss is usually fatal, but enemies and traps can't harm you. In Easy mode, you also have the option of activating a jump fruit after a few unsuccessful attempts, which will also save you from a fatal fall. However, as soon as this helper - which always regenerates itself - is activated, you will no longer be able to collect the feathers scattered around the level.

Nevertheless, even younger players from the age of 6 years should be able to get through the first half of the levels without any problems at all. After that, the difficulty level increases slightly towards the end of the second world. Towards the end of the third world, the difficulty level becomes quite absurd. Especially the "final battle" against the ghost is challenging, because you have to play long passages without a savepoint and make no mistakes. And that's even if you've already mastered other games of this type. Until then, the biggest challenge is to find all the feathers and secrets hidden in a level. This is not easy in some places, but with a little practice it can be done.

In almost every level there is a hidden skill course (called a dojo). You have to collect a certain number of rings within a given time limit. These dojos get harder and harder, although it is only the very last ones that pose a real obstacle. You'll get tickets for each level you manage to complete. You can use these tickets to play bonus levels. In these levels you can collect huge amounts of fruit. In addition, you will be able to complete all the levels in a time trial mode. I needed about 9 hours in order to play through Marsupilami: Hoobadventure. However, you can easily double that time if you want to complete all the levels, including the time trials, and unlock all the bonus material if you're not as experienced in videogames as I am.

Conclusion

Marsupilami: Hoobadventure may not be the most innovative or the most varied platform game of all time, but it is a lot of fun and the simple game mechanics work very well. So well, in fact, that even the younger target audience will have a good time with it. At least in the first half of the game, then the challenges get a bit more difficult, which can lead to one or two moments of frustration, even in easy mode. Apart from a few difficult sections, those who have more experience and have already played one or two Jump&Run games will not have any major problems with Hoobadventure. As long as you're up for the time challenges, the scope of the game is ok. From a fan's point of view, this Marsupilami game is a bit of a disappointment. There's practically no story and there's not much connection to the comics. It would have been nice if the developers had put a little more effort into it.

Final Verdict: 8/10 - Very good platformer and a nice time killer

Shooting screen is so small and enemies not shooting untill they are nearly in my face.
There are better games out there, even it it's only 0,27€ on sale.

Everything else about the game is great, but the camera is ruining it for me. This is coming from a hardcore gamer who loves to play bullet hell and all kinds of old school shmup games. It doesn't want to be too close (as in this case) or too far. A lot of old shmup games have found that sweet spot unlike... here.
