It's a really entertaining game that you can download for free on your phone. I'm downvoting this simply because of the scammer "RewindApp," who only makes fake apps with pre-made packs that are already finished:

He bought the pack, brought it to Steam and now makes money off of other peoples work.

Not a single sound working whatsoever. It's a simple asset flip, that should be avoided. You can at least press two buttons at the same time like jump and move because. I finished all 12 levels within 5 minutes and that's it. Avoid this scam.

For something that isn't even functional, 194,99€? Clipping problems: Ninety percent of the walls, objects and roofs are non-existent and don't even have collisions. Moreover, there is no roof on any building that works because you can fall through. Same for walls you can just jump over and fall into nothingness. The story is also non-existent and the game doesn't even explain anything to you. The reason I knew what to do was thanks to the store page.

As of right now, you should stay away from anything related to HEDE because it is clearly a scam, especially at these prices. It's simple money laundry at this point.

Before I start with the review: keep in mind that the story is near to non-existent and the meaning could be completely different. The game doesn't explain anything, is cryptic in multiple places and probably wants you to make up your own story. With that being said:

You take on the role of "Young" in Anodyne, a man who, equipped with nothing but his dependable broom, has found himself inside the domain of his own subconscious (?). Young is informed by a hooded figure that he has been called upon to defend "The Briar" against The Darkness and that he is being sent on a journey across "The Land" to find ways to strengthen himself. The player will realize more and more during the journey that something is extremely wrong with the world, and they will need to keep going in order to gather the cards and keys that will take them to the solution if they want to figure out what it is. The ending is also a bit more revealing, but you have to reach that point in order to kind of see some questions getting answered.

https://gtm.you1.cn/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3252859238

As Young travels the world, he’ll meet and interact with various characters such as Mitra and her bike Wares or a Link (The Legend of Zelda)-like kind of impersonator, and it’s in these interactions where the initial cracks in the game’s design really start to show. The player is initially informed that the only way to read every line of dialogue from a character is to speak to them multiple times. However, the game doesn't tell you when you've seen every line of dialogue from a particular character until they repeat a line you've already seen. Some of these exchanges can be lengthy and pressing random buttons does nothing to really speed them up, leading to situations such as when I went to talk to a character calling himself the Thorax one too many times and had to spend far too long re-experiencing his poem. To make matters worse, no character ever seems to have anything meaningful to say—instead of offering indications or clues as to where the player should go next, they just seem to be babbling pop culture references or jokes about other games... like where is the story content?

With a simple map, exploring The Land is a tedious and perplexing experience in and of itself. Although areas are rather easy to explore and have excellent aesthetic appeal, navigating through them isn't particularly enjoyable. Any path you choose will almost certainly lead to a gate or wall, however in Anodyne, gates are designed to be passed rather than overcome, unlike in Zelda, where gates are intended to be overcome with new items or abilities. One gate will almost always just lead to another. Even signs you would think were meant to help players find their way are purposely unhelpful, with a majority of them simply reading something along the lines of “the text is faded” or kind of funny stuff like: "Reading a rock because you don't have any friends" and nothing else. I mean yeah it's kind of funny, but there are far too many of unhelpful stones to read.

But is everything really this bad? Definitely not. The game's atmosphere is somewhat eerie or strange, which is fantastic because it gives this Zelda-lite a distinct taste. You work as a janitor in an eerie, fantasy setting. Actually, I believe that the game's sound effects, like clicking and chimes, and music are meant to gently captivate you. The audio/soundtrack was really great, especially the cliff/mountain section. It's erratic and peculiar, providing an excellent illustration of how to create a spooky and unpleasant game without relying on cliched themes and jumpscares. This is a thought-provoking game, but it also leaves a lot up to interpretation, which is something I kind of like about it. It's nice for a brief one-time encounter, but nothing more for me personally.

My Specs

CPU: i9 9900k GPU: RTX 2080 Ti RAM: DDR4 32 GB RAM OS: Win10 Resolution: 1440p @144hz (worked flawlessly)

Conclusion

Ultimately, Anodyne seems designed with a subversive concept that serves as a late-game surprise for the player. However, most players probably won't be motivated to reach this surprise if the path to this isn't engaging enough. Although the game proudly showcases its action-adventure origins, it doesn't seem to be learning any lessons from those earlier games. Enemies that are either easier to defeat standing still or intentionally designed to be irksome, weird obstacles, and a map consisting solely of hallways and dead ends are just a few things that I personally dislike. However, the lovely aspects are also audible and visible in the same breath. The soundtrack is quite lovely and distinctive. It is hoped that some of the knowledge gained from creating it will be utilized in the next installment, allowing the few promising aspects to come to the forefront.

Final Verdict: 6.5/10 - Even though the strange choices and design of the game leave a terrible aftertaste, it's still worthwhile to play this indie game at least once, especially since Analgesic's other games are all truly fantastic 💚

Crashes upon completing a level. You literally have to restart the game every single time after completing a level.

This game hardly holds your attention and is mediocre at best. The gameplay lacks a real sense of excitement and inspiration. The opponents are placed all over the area and have the ability to pass through objects and walls to surprise you with a hit. The China level in particular was very awful since you were hit by bullets fired from beneath the bridge and sustained damage from behind objects.
It's technically playable (somewhat), but ultimately, not a very satisfying experience.

A broken game that is impossible to complete. I only achieved 100% of all achievements because of a bug abuse.
Avoid this garbage as much as the plague.

The biggest pile of garbage I have ever seen—and I've seen a lot of crap—that someone assembled in five minutes.
As you steer your spacecraft, it will automatically shoot other spacecraft.
Because hitbox appears to be twice as large as your ship, it is way out of bounce and you will frequently die for no apparent reason. You can 100% this "game" in less than 10 minutes.

Avoid at all cost.

The idea of this game—an Old West setting with demonic creatures—was intriguing, but the "story," if you can even call it that, is utterly absurd. Am I attempting to reclaim my life from the devil because I'm dead? Is there a siege on this town? Who knows? It also doesn't help, that the whole game got like 10 text boxes and even there you have grammar and spelling mistakes:

The mechanics are really simple, yet they do the job. You are given a variety of weapons to use, including a shotgun, machete, rifle, and revolver. Except for "bosses," who simply require a few more hits, everything perishes in a single blow. Although there is just one wave every stage, followed by a boss, this is a wave shooter format. Nonetheless, the campaign ends quickly because there are only 5 stages. You can finish the game in 10-15minutes. At the end of the day it's the same asset flip game from ANPA.US just like before, just covered in a different skin.

After just ten minutes of gameplay, you can genuinely unlock every achievement. The difference between this game and "Dinosaur Forest" is because in this one, you will be killing machines rather than dinosaurs or zombies. The map is essentially repeated over and over again with the exception of one-colored maps in between (looks like a beta model of a map or pre-alpha'ish). This game has three different kinds of machines. After defeating the first wave of machines, you will face a machine boss—who isn't actually a boss—after that wave. Though not often as a threat, machines do attack. These developers don't actually build games; instead, it seems like they focus on creating titles for fans of achievement seekers and steam trading card collectors.
