In 10 Secong Ninja X, you must eliminate all of the robots in the level in as few seconds as possible. This involves not just quick reflexes but also good planning abilities, as you must most of the time select the best path and enemy killing sequence to earn a good score. This reminded me of puzzle games at points, because as the levels progressed, you really had to integrate the environment/pull switches/kill foes in a precise way/etc. to succeed. And then there's the challenge (and eventual delight) of doing the EXACT right thing at the EXACT correct time and 3-star perfecting a level while Shurriken and your sword accompany you. The main problem though....

7 years and the following problem is still not fixed:

Data structure with index does not exist.
at gml_Object_Leaderboard_Other_69

To avoid this issue, you must start Steam fully offline or disconnect from the internet.
If the developer can't even resolve such a trivial problem, it deserves a negative review. This has been discussed extensively in the game's discussion posts, yet it is still not resolved after 7 full years and counting.

The game is enjoyable if you can prevent the frequent crashes by using offline mode or disconnecting from the internet.

The game ends when you stroll through asset-flip valley past a few asset-flip animals. The entire game lasts approximately 10 minutes. There are no interactions, no story, only a few options, no gameplay, and no reason for this game to be $5. Avoid.

Only worth for cards.

It desperately tries to be as good as classic doom but falls short in every aspect. As others already stated this game uses not only stolen art but also sounds. The zombie sound is just straight up copied from Half-Life 2. The game feels incredibly unbalanced with one medkit for the first 4 levels.
You don't even find a gun until level 3 or 4... Every single enemy is a sponge taking multiple shots, while you can only carry a limited amount of ammo.
Avoid this trash.

It was clear, yet this is garbage.
You start the game and can only choose one free car, which is difficult to do because the controls, settings, and graphics options are all missing. It also doesn't even support gamepads.
Once you know how to access the game, you can only do one racing and one drift... that's it.
Enemy AI is stupid and unjust. The game is also riddled with microtransactions around every corner, causing you to waste your money on this garbage. Online gamemode is non-existent hence why you can't even play with other people.

When you tune your car, it becomes far too difficult to control and leaves everyone behind, while your new closest buddy is the wall you're about to kiss.
Only worth for cards.

This feels more like Developer's First Shmup, which takes Asteroids and hardly improves on it. The controls feel odd, and the opponent AI is dreadful; there's no intelligence/tactics involved at all, and things just fly at you and hover on you once they get there. You then have to shoot them with left click until the wave is finished, just so more can spawn.
This is only worth for cards.

The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails has taken me back to the glory days of the PSP, and I am grateful for this fantastic gem from that era.

Pros
Cons
✔️ Excellent combination of action, platforming, RPG features, quests, and exploration.
❌ You can choose 144hz for your resolution via settings, but it will always be 60fps.
✔️ Even in cutscenes, your equipment alters your and your companions appearance, creating a unique scene.
❌ Platforming can be quite annoying, with enemies hitting you out of the screen, making it difficult at times.
✔️ The soundtrack is breathtaking in every manner, adding tension to action-based platforming and making towns a joy to explore.
❌ A rather repetitive gameplay loop, a cliched plot, and a few spelling errors are there.
✔️ Adorable character models and a clean environment.
✔️ Multi-phase boss battles create a thrilling and spectacular finish at the end of each world.

In-Depth
Story, Gameplay & Bosses

The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails follows the title character, Nayuta, a curious young man fascinated by the stars and the world's possibilities that he and others cannot perceive. Contrary to popular opinion, Nayuta believes their planet is not flat and is obsessed with learning more. In addition, his parents life ambition was to reach "Lost Heaven" beyond the horizon, but they failed and died, which piqued Nayuta's curiosity even more. Ruins and crystals are also falling from the sky from time to time, and some believe they are from other worlds. Thus begins a journey in Lost Heaven about the seemingly infinite possibilities and the quest that lies beyond the horizon.

Nayuta's gameplay is more akin to the Ys than the Trails series. As you travel Lost Heaven, you'll encounter action fighting and platforming. Each location features stages where you fight monsters, collect items, finish optional quests and advance to temples where boss encounters occur. Combat blends Nayuta's sword powers with Noi's magical moves. As you progress, you have access to more of each. Clearing stages while clearing specific conditions, for example, earns you stars, and as you earn more stars, you can acquire new sword moves for Nayuta. He can also alter the seasons, unlocking seasonal variants of previous levels, providing even more replayability and star collecting. The seasonal stages change up the landscapes, platforms, and enemy variety enough that it never gets boring. The platforming portion of the stages, on the other hand, felt a little hazy at times. These stages are presented in 2.5D, and there were numerous occasions when I had to jump onto moving platforms only to misjudge my distance and receive fall damage. It also doesn't help that the camera is fixed. While I prefer turn-based combat like the mainstream Trails games, the action combat system in Legend of Nayuta is solid and simple to learn.

https://gtm.you1.cn/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3038373254

Fighting, jumping, and dashing your way through the relatively short parts is incredibly exciting, and it's worth looking for secret treasure chests and goodies thanks to the accurate controls and solid gameplay. In battle, though, Nayuta is merely a slasher. You can do a rapid sword combination, a dodge roll, and a double jump. You slash at an opponent, and if your combo isn't enough to kill him, you avoid his vengeance. This is simple at first, but the game quickly introduces foes that demand tactical thinking. It could be due to ranged attacks or resistances to all but a few tactics. When you come into groups of enemies that combine several of these features, things become tough, but in a good way.

What keeps me playing is the characters, art style and quests. The companions are wholesome, and the environment is lovely thanks to Remnant Isle's warm feelings and the mysterious Lost Heaven. The story is significantly more clear than in previous Trails games, yet it has enough mystery to keep me playing. Especially since there are some probable connections to gnaw on if you've played prior Trails games. There are additional side missions in each of the chapters, but for the most part they are only incidental, but they are still a nice way to pass the time. Nayuta is an engaging, lively main character, and Remnant Island is an appealing backdrop, but the broader plot is somewhat tedious, relying on tired and generally expected genre clichés. Despite plenty of well-written dialogue and a few story twists to keep things interesting, it all falls a little bit flat. Overly serious antagonists, a squeaky mascot companion, and the appearance of a mystery female with amnesia are a recipe for disaster in any RPG.

https://gtm.you1.cn/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3038458757

The multi-phase boss fights are also another highlight. These critical fights have their own quirks, phases and while it may take a few tries to find a good approach, there is a lot of uniqueness on display, especially since this was initially a PSP title. One could even say that Nayuta is one of Falcom's more experimental works in terms of gameplay, which often works to the game's benefit. Still, the title feels a little unjust at times. Off-screen invisible enemy attacks can be annoying, especially when they knock you off a platform and reset your progress. Overall, these are minor difficulties, but the aggravation can mount when attempting to conquer a level for certain rewards. However, if there is one area where Nayuta excels, it is in the presentation. This is a fantastic remaster of an already fantastic PSP edition. The graphical style, with its wide spectrum of vivid colors and stunningly pretty lighting effects, really comes into its own with the higher resolution, while running at a faultless 60 frames per second. The only two issues I've discovered is that I can select 144fps/hz with my resolution, but it never goes above 60 fps. The second issue is that numerous dubbed lines are missing, and I believe they could have done a better job voicing more lines.

My Specs

CPU: i9 9900k GPU: RTX 2080 Ti RAM: DDR4 32 GB RAM OS: Win10 Resolution: 1440p @144hz

Conclusion

The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails is an entertaining action role-playing game that takes elements of the larger series on which it is based and creates something unique. The gameplay from minute to minute is engaging, albeit with some minor platforming frustrations here and there. Even if the story is simple and politically not as captivating as the main Trails games, the heartfelt characters, secrets and side quests help enrich the world.

Final Verdict: 9/10 - Remastered and enhanced close to perfection 😍

This is a really basic, bare-bones game that doesn't ask for much.
You race in an 80s-inspired cosmos indefinitely, avoiding collisions, barriers, and refueling your tank.
Although the mechanics are simple, the game can be hard.
Expect to be irritated when attempting to gather all of the cars/achievements because the gameplay is a little unpleasant, as is typical of this genre.

If you want to reach level 10, therefore collecting all cars/achievements, you have to focus a bit since the game can be a bit random when it comes to obstacles.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery... unless it's executed poorly.

Pros
Cons
✔️ Fantastic cartoon-style graphics reminiscent of games like Zelda Wind Waker; this is visually amazing.

✔️ Puzzles and gimmicks are mostly solid, while they frequently left me scratching my head.

✔️ The voice acting is excellent, and the way everything is voiced is fantastic.
❌ There are no graphical settings at all. Nothing can be changed in terms of resolution, frames, or even V-Sync, among other things.

❌ The solution to most puzzles is frequently rather frustrating to discover. When you're stuck, there are no hints or assistance available.

❌ The gravity-bending feature is weak at best and often fails to function. The number of times I died or took damage as a result of gravity not operating properly is staggering.

❌ In the settings, there is a "no damage" option that you should definitely use. The amount of damage you receive from enemies or the environment is unreasonably high, resulting in many deaths.

❌ The game doesn't explain anything gimmick-wise, and the story is almost non-existent. What little tale there is to appreciate is made up in haste, leaving you with more questions than answers.

❌ Bugs and even more glitches. An example can be found here.

❌ The metal music quickly becomes annoying. The amount of soundtrack is rather small, and since you have to play a dungeon for about an hour plus, you're going to hear the same rock music over and over again.

In-Depth
Story, Gameplay & Gravity-Bending Gimmick

The game's introduction is actually quite promising. You play Molinike, also known as Molly, an apprentice to a grumpy old sculptor who dreams of becoming the best sculptor ever and surpassing her master. Her master requests that she brings him a new set of tools because he wishes to be able to "turn stone into flesh". Molly encounters Circe, a trickster deity in Greek mythology, while rushing to catch up to a merchant in order to purchase these tools during what should have been a simple task. She grants Molly any wish she wants, and she requests the ability to "turn flesh into stone." As a result of changing two words in her master's wish, Molly changes into a medusa, turning everyone in her path to stone. She is now on a quest to overcome the curse and show Circe that she is more than just a plaything.

The narrative is told in the most rushed way possible. Molly says nothing about emotions or feelings after receiving the curse. When I got to another place, she started talking to a rock (an actual rock she discovered on the way, reminding me of Wilson from the movie "Cast Away"), dumping all exposition from nowhere. She's then able to grab a sand boat from a neighboring sand sailor and embark on her mission.

Molly has to cross the dunes just outside her small settlement in order to break Circe's curse. This section, along with the game's art style, is intended to give gamers the greatest Wind Waker feeling possible. The Legend of Zelda's impact does not end there. Molly must journey through a number of dungeons, each having its own map, boss, and important items to obtain. Molly Medusa: Queen of Spit is built on an unusual premise. It is visually based on Wind Waker, although the emphasis focuses solely on puzzle solving rather than combat. The majority of the puzzles are rather simple, focused on either using the most recently gained object or Molly's unusual ability to walk on walls and ceilings to advance. Although the focus on puzzles seemed enticing, the game is filled with issues.

Don't get me wrong: I like the Greek take on Zelda. Except for the repetitive music, the graphic design is charming, and the sound department does an outstanding job. The game contains a lot of voice acting, and while the recording quality is only average at best, the performances themselves are great. With some guitar-driven tunes intermingled with antique instruments, the music rapidly devolves into mediocrity. Molly Medusa obtains a more than passable score for artistic design. Unfortunately, this is where the praise ends.

https://gtm.you1.cn/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3032311357

The primary issue is with the gameplay and general execution. Simply said, it's a disaster. The collision detection is shaky, reminding me of early 3D games when the concepts of mobility and collision were still in the early stages. This is also obvious in the final battle because the foundation for defeating her is the gravity-bending gimmick, which is brutal to deal with and does not work logically. Oh, and while we're on the subject of logic, a grandmother in the first village carrying four swords informs you about a weapon you can obtain if you have 30 coins. I was surprised to discover that I was unable to collect coins for the duration of the game, nor did I receive a weapon, leaving me to ponder, "Why does this dialogue exist?".

Gravity bending makes things a lot worse inside dungeons. Molly has the ability to walk over walls and ceilings in order to solve puzzles. Unfortunately, whenever you do this (and you do it a lot), the camera goes berserk, causing nausea, which I never thought I'd feel in this day and age. Free camera controls are not enabled by default and must be enabled via settings. Due to the gravity-bending feature, the camera often gets stuck on walls and objects, stutters, and does not know where it should be, especially when falling into an abyss. This frequently results in the inability to see anything and, more often than not, to move as you should. The game also includes cheap damage-inflicting techniques, such as an explosive mine on the ground. As a result, it not only punishes you with half-hearted features, but it also allows you to view the "game over" screen on a regular basis, which is why the option to take no damage exists in the first place. The dungeon design is also contentious because it gives you a dungeon map to show which chambers and keys are still missing, yet it always gives me the map near the end of the dungeon when I don't need it anymore.

Conclusion

This is one of those titles where you can see and even appreciate the general design's ambition, but the small details of the implementation wind up being the cause of its failure. You begin as a dissatisfied apprentice, sent out on a meaningless mission with no story snippets in between dungeons. From then, it's a bit of a puzzle-solving adventure, with Molly being able to walk on the walls or ceilings (although occasionally having to turn things into stone as well) to work her way through various temples. The difficulty is that the controls feel janky and inconsistent and the lack of a better way to manipulate the camera worsens the issue. The well-executed aesthetic, visually appealing graphic style, and voice acting are unfortunately not enough to pull you out of the gameplay mess.

Final Verdict: 4/10 💔

A raccoon on a mission to bring light to the world's darkest corners. Despite some rough edges, this is a surprisingly well-done adventure.

Pros
Cons
✔️ Family-friendly; Perfectly suitable for younger children.
❌ There is no V-Sync setting, which causes noticeable screen tearing.
✔️ In terms of travel, this is heavily inspired by Super Mario Galaxy, but it also incorporates gameplay features from Super Mario Sunshine, giving it a wonderful indie-platformer mixture.
❌ Pilfer's movement is heavy, slow, and unexpected at first, but you'll get used to it. Instead of relying on mobility mechanics like b-hop, a quicker sprint button, for example, would have been beneficial.
✔️ Every song fits the theme of the distinct worlds while also diversifying the soundtrack so that it does not feel too similar to other titles in its category.
❌ The level gimmicks differs in a variety of ways, but the overall concept design is consistent with what you'll discover in previous levels. This means that, while game elements, colors, and so on may change depending on the level, the overall design remains the same. As a result, it usually looks the same but in a different color.
✔️ While playing the game, you can change Pilfer's clothing by gathering and spending in-game currency.
❌ Some of the text contains typing errors. You can see an example here.
✔️ If you want to complete the game to 100%, it becomes really challenging, which is fantastic for me as a hardcore player but may be a problem for others.

In-Depth
Story, Gameplay & Gimmicks

Pilfer: Story of Light's idea is quite decent material. Pilfer and his friend stumble onto a lair of a mysterious owl called Caligo and his lackeys. He arrives, only to stroll right into turmoil as Pilfer and his companion arrive in a scene that's supposed to plunge the world into darkness. Pilfer pursues but is unable to save the light wrapped in a shining lantern essential to free the planet from darkness because his friend smashes it. As a result, the ground beneath Pilfer's feet breaks, leading him to fall into a trap. Thus starts a neat adventure about friendship and collecting lamps in order to save the planet from darkness.

This all seems quite standard, but it's where Pilfer finishes up that gives the game its unique flavor. He soon meets Lumi, a creature from a race that looks like a water droplet, similar to the Luma creatures from Super Mario Galaxy. Pilfer discovers that Caligo has stolen a massive amount of darkness. Therefore he must go to all of the universe's "galaxies" in order to collect as many lanterns as possible in order to rescue Caligo from the Darkness, save the planet, and restore peace. The storybook theme is a nice touch that complements the game's cell-shaded, low-poly models.

https://gtm.you1.cn/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3030241936

Aside from the poor basic movement speed and heavy feeling weight of Pilfer, there aren't many complaints about his controls. At its essence, it controls similarly to Mario 64, or so it looked like to me. It's a little clumsy around the edges, feels heavy at first, and has little in common with other 3D platformers movement-wise like A Hat in Time for example. Pilfer's primary attack is also a basic slash upfront, thanks to Lumi. But don't get too cocky, since you have to wait a second before you can attack again, so make sure you can get away from whatever evil guy is around if you miss. The attacks also allow you to pull yourself to certain objects. Especially when trying to climb up a wall, pulling on various objects only works partially. You will often fall into the abyss and take damage if you try to grab the object and get the visual signal for it, but are too close to the wall. This could have been handled a little bit better.

Each dome-like – a room on the island which forms the game's main hub – contains a handful of music boxes that offers a world/level for you to explore. Some of these will be important levels in which you'll search for a lantern or a hidden star page to reveal more challenges/outfits. Some will be one-shot levels, races, or standalone challenges to learn more about Pilfer's moveset. Finally, a boss level will return in full devilish fury, a la Super Mario Galaxy. Some are simple three-hit bosses, while others prefer to race against the clock. Race a cosmic Super Mario Galaxy-like double, Shadow Mario style, fight a boss with multiple abilities and re-do a stage to earn the best time. Also: the narrative design reminds me of how Rosalina's story is told to the player in Super Mario Galaxy. The game appears to incorporate that look into all of the cutscenes and narrative background. Even in the game's introduction, the beginning of the music track sounds like the same notes utilized in Rosalina's story or once you collect a lantern it includes notes from the Super Mario Galaxy one collecting a star.

https://gtm.you1.cn/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3028222742

Each of those levels can range from a cluster of little places to a grandiose spiderweb-like environment, ice and even volanco levels, but there are a number of lanterns to collect in any case. Star pages are typically hidden, rewarding individuals who are adventurous enough to investigate where that optional area leads. The game is as linear as Super Mario 3D World, ensuring that you always have a diverse set of levels open at all times. With your health reduced to four, experimenting with new foes and techniques can be dangerous - do the wrong thing twice in a row and you'll die. You may die a lot at first, but once you get the hang of the controls and how heavy Pilfer feels, you'll have a fun platformer. Just keep in mind that this was primarily created by a "one-man-show."

My Specs

CPU: i9 9900k GPU: RTX 2080 Ti RAM: DDR4 32 GB RAM OS: Win10 Resolution: 1440p @144hz

Conclusion

Pilfer: Story of Light is a straightforward game that does exactly what you think it does. It is nothing innovative and is certainly be considered a fairly barebones platformer compared to other entires like A Hat in Time, but for a solo made game and for fans of 3D platformers, there are a few hours to enjoy here. If you don't have high expectations and want to support the little ones among all the big ones, you can't go wrong with Pilfer. The story is enjoyable, albeit slightly too predictable and the levels and gimmicks in the world are varied and just the right degree of challenging. It also doesn't hurt that the game is visually really cute. Even if there are some hiccups along the way, this is an adventure worth embarking on and especially supporting.

Final Verdict: 7.5/10 💖

This game pretends to be something it isn't. Sarcophag aims to be an achievement spam game buried inside a bejeweled-style match 3 type of game, but it fails at both. The gameplay is repetitive and slow to adapt, with little variety. Everything you do in the first few seconds is all you'll do for two hours or more in order to get all achievements. Nothing is added, nothing will change, just you clicking on two tiles in order to move these icons for a match 3 experience. Also: the achievement spam of the game contains predefined gameplay triggers that appear inconsistent for most players and can be difficult to achieve. And if that wouldn't be bad enough: once these achievement starts to spam, the game lags out.
