Waiter is a game where you have to gather cocktails and other drinks and serve them to customers. It sounds quite fine at first, but you know you'll be done with it in five minutes if you're in the game and you keep seeing the same maximum number of people (5) in the same locations with nothing changing. The concept is actually very good: you left click the cocktail then walk to the client, serve them, and gain points and time. Once the timer goes to zero its game over and you can try again. The price (1,49€ on sale) is too high for what it offers, but it may have been a good straightforward time waster if done properly. Within five minutes, you have seen all of the clients and the entire facility (only one map).

More maps, dialogue (none exist), customers, beverages, and rotating things (customers, drinks) would have made the game a more enjoyable experience.

I'm genuinely not sure if I should recommend this or not; it's just a $1, which is a very good value, and there is some fun to be had, but it's the worst Toree game by far, and there are a number of really annoying moments. Although Toree Genesis is wonderful, it was reportedly free once, so is it really worth the purchase for that alone? In my opinion: No.

I think that Toree Jumbled Jam 2 is fun, until you strive to collect every item. In that case, be ready for the incredible level design that requires you to "repeat a segment like three times to make sure you got everything because it has several paths and ways for you to explore. This alone is definitely worth it, but the camera can be really janky, especially in the racing level.

With the exception of the rare severe difficulty spike, toree missions are generally excellent. Additionally, because you have to move the toree into precisely the perfect locations to avoid simply passing through and missing the boost hoops, the expert difficulty seems difficult to complete without a ton of experience. If you could look up and aim yourself, this wouldn't be so horrible, but you can't. The fact that the giant skull kills you if you miss even one boost hoop and that there is a low gravity effect make it difficult to decide whether or not this is a good game.

To be fair: it's only a dollar, which is a pretty good deal, and there are some fun things to do, but it's the weakest Toree game by far, and there are a few parts that are much more annoying than they should be.

There is no tutorial whatsoever. Although there is a brief description on the Steam Store page, who visits the store to look for gameplay guides? The game lacks a tutorial or directions.

As you get better at the game, you realize that player ability is not as important as luck and randomness. One black block and its instantly game over and its random if you get them instantly or after minutes of playing. You waste a few minutes, farm the cards, close it and never touch again.

Carter's Quest is a mostly stunning piece of art, but it's not a perfect video game just yet.

Pros
Cons
✔️ Combat is easy to learn, fast and fluid. It feels satisfying to perform numerous abilities, especially once you have unlocked new skills.
❌ There are issues and bugs in almost every part of the game. From overlapping text, to strange camera behavior and many more. Most of the time, the camera is your worst enemy, as you can see here for example.
✔️ Every song matches the theme of the individual areas, but also manages to diversify the soundtrack so as to not feel too similar to other titles of its genre.
❌ You'll eventually notice how quickly Carter rolls/dodges, at which point you'll only be using dodge rolls to go across the unnecessarily large world.
✔️ The cast of characters is mostly entertaining despite the sometimes cliched writing.
❌ Cutscenes happen too frequently and sometimes go on for too long. It doesn't seem appropriate to walk into a large room, watch a lengthier cutscene, then go to the next room to watch another cutscene, and so on.
✔️ Rewarding customization options.
❌ The areas are unnecessarily big, an example can be found here. There are long hallways that never seem to end, as well as a ton of empty houses that are completely devoid of anything.

In-Depth

Story

In REAL WEB LEGENDS: Carter's Quest, players take control of Carter and his Homunculus named Yooba as they journey through a variety of biomes to prevent the mysterious organization "The Helix" from obtaining an artifact. To do this, Carter needs to build “The Perfect Homunculus”, the ultimate weapon. Thus, Carter embarks on a quest and forges Yooba to serve as his loyal companion in the fight for justice and survival. In Act 1, Carter delves into the rebuilt human capital located in the province of Kaliere. These plains were previously the scene of intense fighting, and if Carter doesn't take immediate action, it could happen again soon. Now it’s up to us to bring peace to everyone and help out the townsfolk by doing quests, delivering important objects, and clearing dungeons.

The narrative is more driven by characters than plot. Arguably the most interesting characters are Carter and Yooba, a human and newly created Homunculi, as they grow to trust one another and evolve. I really enjoyed the story, though there wasn't as much plot between the antagonists as I would have wanted. Many new characters will appear, but none of them will stick around for long. This means that we won't be able to relate to any of them on a deep level, nor to their ideas or goals. Overall, the writing is best described as enjoyable because it isn't overly serious, yet focuses on being lighthearted with many humorous scenes.

Gameplay & Feel

Unlike with most games in the genre, the developers of Carter's Quest have found a way to make 3D character movement very satisfying. Carter has good movement, Yooba's abilities evolve throughout the story and 99% of the time, manipulating their different motions is simple. Battles occur in real time and we have a lock-on system, reminiscent of games like The Legend of Zelda. To choose our equipment, we simply open the menu, select our equipment, and then place objects like bombs into D-PAD spots. Items like colored slime or frog legs are used to assist citizens in side missions, as well as bombs to help destroy objects in our way. If we finish sidequests, NPCs will reward us with useful stuff like a broom for example, in order to navigate faster through the open world. Carter also comes across a number of anvils where he can upgrade his equipment to get stronger movesets or abilities. Aside from that, the gameplay loop consists of entering a dungeon, finding keys to unlock doors, and making our way to the last boss, defeating it and advancing.

In a way, Carter’s Quest is a remarkable example of N64/PS1-like done right, especially visually. It manages to combine small aspects from all the old-school Zelda games, giving us kind of the same Zelda feel, but in a new and low-polygon indie way. Even in its unnecessarily huge, fiercely 3D world, the game retains a classic feel and look. The music, and really the entire soundtrack, is quite excellent; boasting outstanding tracks for each large segment of the game. Now, that seems solid at first glance, right? However, a few things did catch my eye.

Primarily, the game is buggy in a number of places. The only true benefit of locking onto an enemy is that it enables the player to use attacks where we move the stick in direction to our opponent; otherwise, it's more of a hindrance. The repetition of boss fight movesets, especially when paired with camera movement, is not good as well. Carter frequently appears beyond the scope of the camera (for instance, the massive boss in the tower) or loot appearing behind invisible walls, making loot/heals inaccessible (for instance, the first boss).

In addition, there are moments when the OST loops incorrectly, healing is rare (particularly after the first tower), and I'm not sure why resting in a bed or inn doesn't restore my health. Why are there empty houses around with nothing in them? Every single home on the farm and also in Kaliere is empty. Then there's the tower bug boss, whose design is just horrible. It only launched two attacks during the entire fight, and the sound of each one is really loud. If everything in the game were half the size, it would make for a more memorable experience.

https://gtm.you1.cn/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3303348126

Conclusion

Carter's Quest is immensely enjoyable, but a maybe too ambitious take on the classic Action Adventure from the 1990s/early 2000s. The controls are fairly tight and familiar, the low-polygon art style is memorable, and the movesets are varied. The soundtrack is pleasant, and if it weren't for all the bugs and glitches, this would be one of the most enjoyable games out there. Despite feeling a lot like a certain Nintendo series when you first pick it up, the game has enough of a unique identity to separate itself from the pack, offering a pleasant, but flawed surprise.

Since the developer Goba appears to be quite active in the Discord channel and users share their findings on a daily basis—all of which have so far been fixed or taken into consideration—I'm confident that the remaining issues will be resolved as well. Once it launches outside of Early Access, issues like bugs and glitches will probably be fixed, but other issues, like the unnecessarily large environment, should undoubtedly be addressed in the upcoming content patches.

Some of my favorite RPG adventures in the category are associated with the Mario brand in general or to be more specific: Paper Mario. For me, the most enjoyable aspects have always been the lively battle mechanics, friendly artwork, and humorous tone. I had played the previous and later Mario RPGs, but I had not played the Indie approaches from other developers besides Bug Fables or Video Game Fables, so I was looking forward to this. Let me spoil it right here: It's exactly what I was hoping to get and even more.

TL;DR:

Pros
Cons
✔️ Good and lighthearted combat along with fulfilling RPG elements that are both straightforward and deep at the same time.
❌ Localization/Translation outside of English can very rarely be a bit rough, but remember that they're working to fix it in their Discord channel.
✔️ Many secrets, collectables and badges for you to find and equip.
✔️ Every song matches the theme of the individual worlds, but also manages to diversify the soundtrack as to not feel too similar to other titles of its genre.
✔️ Family-friendly; Perfectly suitable for younger children.

Controller Recommended?
Yes, but not necessary because KB/M can also be used.
Is it worth buying once it releases if the quality stays the same?
Yes, yes and yes… without a single doubt!

But what does it do exactly? It is just a simple Paper Mario clone?

If you have ever played a Paper Mario game, you will quickly become familiar with the overall game. It combines the exploration, conversation, and combat-heavy gameplay typical of traditional Mario RPGs with action sequences and platforming elements that simply blends in perfectly. Taking control of Flynt, the player sets out on a new quest to hunt a dragon within a castle with the ultimate goal of defeating it. You soon discover that your most cherished adversary has vanished from sight and is nowhere to be seen. Did the dragon end up in captivity, just like our dear Peach? Flynt sets out on a lengthy quest to locate the Evildoers and dive deep into fairy tale books.

Flynt is joined by a host of companions, but I'll not reveal who and why simply because you can do that yourself. Each character has several special skills that can be used to uncover new mysteries and explore previously undiscovered regions, in true Nintendo-like fashion. Some characters have the ability to make the surrounds burst into flames, while others can make flowers sprout immediately to create new passageways. Flynt, though, is not entirely defenseless either because he can also throw his frisbee and therefore destroy objects.

The clever battle scenes in the game also make use of a lot of these special abilities. Character leveling is so important to the gameplay of RPGs that a dull turn-based battle system can quickly ruin a title. We all know it already, but: Paper Mario 2's battles are entertaining and I'm glad to confirm, that they're absolutely superb in Escape from Ever After as well. You still select attacks and moves from an icon-based ring menu, choose your target, and then perform a simple mini-game-like challenge to determine over success or failure of the maneuver – but the developer added several all-new elements to the mix such as: shields. Now that opponents can spawn into battle with shields, you are unable to damage them with Flynt's frisbee or any other weapon. However, wooden shields for example can be burned easily, don't they? A number of creative mechanics prevent you from simply pressing any button to win; instead, you must plan out your next action to avoid wasting a turn.

https://gtm.you1.cn/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3292622411

While attacking, Flynt and companions can execute special time specific events in order to maximize damage output. For example, you may achieve a stunning triple frisbee hit and earn a lot of synergy points (the equivalent of Star Points in Paper Mario 2). If you time it just right, you can also press the A button three times at the right time in order to fully execute said ability, but if you fail, your turn is over and the missed damage wasted. After completing these time-limited button hits, you'll be rewarded with synergy points, which you can use to do unique actions like healing the groups HP/MP or performing a special attack to deal massive damage or other brilliant things. Revealing more details would mean potentially ruining the surprise, so just take it from me: It's such a good game... I'm absolutely in love with this and so proud to be a Kickstarter backer.

Likewise, the presentation of the environments starts off with the standard stuff. You talk, you equip badges and whatnot, but soon turns things up a notch. The developers have wisely created a humorous adventure (or Onboarding / Demo in this case) that walks the fine line between the familiar of Paper Mario and the new, littering the world with classic characters from well known story books. The outcome is an almost perfect mix. Characters from The Three Little Pigs will be recognizable to you, along with exquisitely composed music and the ability to equip new gear / badges to increase damage or HP or possibly even restore MP after being attacked.

Final Verdict

It’s easy to understand why so many people adore Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. It’s a near perfect family friendly RPG loaded with different lands to adventure to, larger than life bosses, levelling, a badge system that allows you slightly tailor the game to your style, fun quests, plenty of side quests, cheeky writing, and most importantly a iconic art style that still looks amazing today. And you wanna know the best part of this? It's all in here as well... Every. Single. Thing. ♥

This is the first chapter and prologue of something huge, and it was created by just two people. It deserves all the success it can get, and I'm hoping we can make this happen by giving the game the necessary push it deserves.

What a fantastic game... the developers should've never abandoned it. The gameplay and gunplay are incredibly well-balanced and fulfilling. The use of enchanted weaponry to advance through the game is a lot of fun and increases replayability. Although there is a slight learning curve, the race to each site is incredibly enjoyable.

What is your goal/objective?

The game begins with you, your horse, and another random player spawning at one spot, while other groups also spawn in different locations. Everyone races against another team with a drifting horse to the next destination: a city. Reaching the city during the day will help you avoid getting damaged at night. You must remain in the town itself until daylight returns because that is the only area that is secure. Gathering weapons like spell books or rifles, engaging in combat, looting, and attempting to maximize your efforts are all part of the game. If you make it to the very end, you'll face off against the other surviving groups for a rose in a great battle; if you die, you'll just have to start over at the menu and queue. The battle royale race is won by the first team who picks up the rose at the end. You can use bombs, flags to wave on your horse's back, weapons, and healing packs to replenish your health in order to accomplish the aforementioned goal. It's quick, easy, and precisely the correct amount of fun without taking too long.

https://gtm.you1.cn/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3273180042

That's all there is to it: A straightforward Indie approach on the battle royale genre that can be completed in ten minutes, or even less if you die quickly. There are also optional ways to change the appearance of your knight.

A driving simulation with no goals. There's just you, the radio station, and the world to explore at your leisure.

PolyZen Drive is a driving game that is almost retro in style, with plenty of customization choices to let you build the kind of driving experience you want, be it a leisurely nighttime cruise, navigating through traffic in a city, or drifting in the mountains. Numerous factors are configurable, including the time of day, the weather, as well as the car you're using. While some of the tracks are really simple, others are really good.

https://gtm.you1.cn/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3287826563

In addition, there are two options that makes it even more fun, a multitude of camera and photo modes, and options for traffic density. The first is point-gaining drift mode, while the second has police pursuing you. Since there are no unlockables, none of it matters.

Downsides: It needs bigger maps with more open highways or roads. There are so many exits and roads blocked for no reason. Adding a variety of areas with different visual scenery will also help add to the experience
VitaminsizDev (dev) have already created. Another downside is the radio's repetitious music since it's mostly arabic/turkish-like (?) music. It's probably not everyone's cup of tea.

Speed through dense traffic, serene landscapes, or just take pictures of you and your car and get lost in a variety of settings

Why does this expansion start so slowly? Why are we here, merely chatting, and why are we spending the first ten hours doing fetch quests? I didn't like the expansion at first, but after giving it some thought... It makes sense in some way... let me explain:

The beginning of a fresh expansion... There are queue times, a new continent, and new trials and dungeons to explore. Aside from the post-game activities and vicious raids, this is what appeals to me about the new expansion. I adore world-building, lore, and character development, but let's be honest:

We have previously saved the world of Eorzea and the Thirteenth about a dozen times by fighting actual gods, and after Hermes, Meteion, and Hydaelyn engaged in combat with actual gods to preserve the world. After a valiant battle, the Warrior of Light and his allies deserve to relax. The primary purpose of this expansion is to provide precisely that—a break and a holiday. Is it a slow start? Indeed. Will you chat a lot, complete tasks, and act as an errand boy? Yes, and even if the story's pacing could have been improved in practically every way, I don't mind.

https://gtm.you1.cn/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3278715289

Dawntrail's primary objective is to set the stage for you to discover a whole new continent and globe, delve deeply into historical and cultural events, and aid others. While Wuk Lamat aspires to become the next Dawn Servant, Krile is searching for her grandfather and more info on her earring. You are no longer the focus of this expansion; instead, everything else is. establishing the foundation for future post-game Main Story Quests and gradually preparing us for the impending arrival of another disaster.

Positive experiences will eventually become second nature to you. The expansions Shadowbringer and Endwalker were amazing and featured many highlights, particularly the battle between Meteion and Hermes at the finale of Endwalker—a real-life gods-versus-gods battle.
This is more slower, giving you more opportunities to delve deeply into the cultural distinctions between different countries, their populations, and their rulers. If Pizza is your favorite food in real life and you eat it every single day, it would eventually grow boring and uninteresting, even though Pizza is the best right? The FFXIV expansions aim to address this by slowing down and offering you new foods to eat in order to rekindle your excitement for pizza, so please take a break.

https://gtm.you1.cn/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3279508604

The next catastrophe is already at the door, so the Warrior of Light needs some rest. I'm interested to see how the story develops after Dawntrail, how it will grow, and what lies ahead for us in the years to come. This is Dawntrail, a freshly constructed continent that advances slowly yet steadily for your enjoyment. It clearly lacks the grandeur of Endwalker or Shadowbringer, yet it is vitally necessary to provide the groundwork for what is coming in the upcoming years.

Take a step back, enjoy your vacation and the historical culture of your beloved friends and comrades because sooner or later you won't have the time for it

It's a really entertaining game that you can download for free on your phone. I'm downvoting this simply because of the scammer "RewindApp," who only makes fake apps with pre-made packs that are already finished:
https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/templates/packs/ballx-infinite-brick-breaker-complete-game-template-87125

He bought the pack, brought it to Steam and now makes money off of other peoples work.

Not a single sound working whatsoever. It's a simple asset flip, that should be avoided. You can at least press two buttons at the same time like jump and move because. I finished all 12 levels within 5 minutes and that's it. Avoid this scam.
