More of a dark sorcery style map, a bit smaller, seems more pvp focused. I like it better than vanilla so far, theres biomes on vanilla that I hated and it was always jarring how abruptly biomes change; this seems more consistent and believable so far.

Just posting this to say, game is good but, Star Wars Galaxies is also back and free to play. Look up Sentinels Republic or Legends; pre-CU and NGE respectively.

Didn't play when loot boxes was a thing; starting late this seems like the old 2005 Battlefront 2 with better graphics and space battles.


The only negative for me so far is the weird gender lock for certain classes for some factions; that's nothing to do with gameplay, only immersion, so the games pretty fun.

It's fun, but endgame isn't quite there yet. Hold off if you want to play through a campaign all the way.
There's a MMO type game that plays sorta like Bannerlord called Gloria Victis, I just switch between the two when I get bored of one.

About this game, I haven't figured out the controls just yet so my guys keep dying from dumb stuff but it seems like you can put in more complex orders once you do figure it out. So far basic room clearing tactics have been working, can't wait to learn the controls a bit better and unlock more classes/gear.

If you like old Rainbox Six, when you had to use strategy and make actual plans, then you'll like this. It's top down view but it needs to be for how the game plays out. There's randomly generated missions that you set basic parameters for and downloadable missions from the community; it's infinitely replayable and fun.

Witcher 3 of RPG/Base building games.

The graphics and controls are good, you just need to get passed the starting area and outside the first town.

There's no leveling like a traditional rpg, it's gear based and skills that you unlock using gold. There's also multiple classes to specialize in, with each playthrough letting you pick three classes to combine into a unique build. I was turned off by coop not "saving progress" for the 2nd player but it's because the storylines are unique and it simply wouldnt work; but your friend does "level up" with you by playing since they can loot and you can easily trade with them.

It seems like the game is meant to be played multiple times for different storylines/outcomes and to try vastly different character builds. It's the best coop game I've played, with the build variety you and a friend can get lost exploring and trying new builds out together.

The game also requires you to eat, drink, and sleep but not in an annoying way; it's actually fun to set up a small camp and cook food then decide how much time to devote to sleep/security/repairs.
