I got it for free

It has bugs

It's silly

It's meant to be played with friends

When it works, it works

That's really all you need

First, foremost, and worst of all
This game is built on a 'free to play' model that aggressively strong arms you into buying premium currency to make any sort of progress
Leveling up is slow, the 'card pool' is littered with pointless cards to pad out the grind, upgrade costs require you to play hours and hours for a simple improvement, the list goes on
When you first start you get an 'alert bonus' for three days, which makes the grind appear not-too-bad; but as soon as it runs out, you won't be making any real progress unless you play all day

As far as the average player is concerned, there is no customization. It's all paywalled and expensive. If you want to personalize your units, then grind for a month to afford one skin for one vehicle (until they stop dropping free 'emeralds') or pull our your wallet

There is no communication or teamwork either. The game rewards people individually for completed tasks. So whoever is the most aggressive and arrives first, they get credit. If someone clicks a patient and gets their stretcher there first, they get it. You have to compete with your teammates instead of working together, making the game not fun

The game feels nothing like previous Emergency games. There is no freedom, calling out vehicles is limited to five per person, and they can only be 'summoned' to pre-existing spots on the map
So no more blocking off roads, no cutting off a fire, and no parking anywhere dynamic; only next to streets

Loads of content is also just flat-out missing
There are no tow trucks
There are no helicopters
There are no boats
There is no heavy water bowser
There is no fire plane
There is no hazmat truck
There are no bulldozers
There are no riot water cannons
There is no mass casualty unit
There is no diver
There are no snipers

All commands are simple single-click commands. There are no orders for units, each unit does one thing and one thing only, and you do it by clicking on them and right clicking the objective
The game is so unbelievably mind-numbing that even when you finally get a little bit of progression there's no pride in it

There are three zones, and they are all tiny. The emergencies are also limited, and after playing two or three games in each region you'll already have seen every last thing the game has to offer

The pros are just, decent graphics and the game is free... it works alright, when the servers aren't offline or under maintenance... otherwise they're down a lot; and you can't even play solo when the servers are down. It's always online

Emergency 4 with a few mods continues to blow these newer games out of the water, with more customization, more content, and more replayability
If you want to try this game out, again, it's free. Play it for two or three days and then move on, that's all the content it has unless you're willing to spend more money than it would have cost if this game was normal price

Redout 2 is fun.
I loved the original, and jumping into the sequel feels new and exciting while still being familiar.

Only first impression gripes I have are the annoying tutorials, and having the game's assists locked to 'on' before completing the trials and having the reigns handed to you.
Plus, many will complain about the boost tutorial.
It's doable, but poorly explained ingame.
Your health bar is basically an extended boost bar; boosting past full overheat drains your health, but it's encouraged; balancing risk and reward. You can also boost during a hyper boost; which is what the tutorial wants to teach you to do.

If you want the old feel of the original Redout, you'll need to turn off the assists (which come automatically enabled) and do some control remapping. The ships will feel grippy and sluggish with the assists pushing and pulling you toward the racing line; but without them, it's the same chaotic energy as the first game.
The starting (un-upgraded) ships don't feel slow, but they do handle like crap. You won't be winning many races starting out, since you have no upgrades and your opponents will be better.

This is not a bad thing

Too many people have been goaded into this false sense of 'every event must be winnable right off the bat.'
Wrong.
Racing drivers don't win every single one of their races, it just doesn't work like that.
In Redout 2, you have to progress, advance, upgrade, and return to older races to beat them. This makes winning more satisfying, since it isn't just handed to you on a silver platter.
Even on difficult settings in Redout 1, beating the AI always felt stupidly simple (at least to a half-decent player).

If anyone is unhappy with the difficulty curve of this new game, just turn the difficulty down to 'chill' and enable all of the assists. I don't understand why adding difficulty to a game is a bad thing, when there are lower options available right off the bat...

Personally, and so far, I love the game. It gives you speed, new toys to play with, an interesting boost mechanic that rewards taking risks, and beautiful track designs and environments.
Any fans of the original can use the settings to tweak this game to their liking; otherwise, if it's 'too hard' go find something easier to play...

Easily a 10/10 game.

Everything you want in a pet sim; whether you want to idle and let the dogs do their thing, or be hyper involved with every little detail.
Every dog manages to have their own distinct personality, interacting with their environment or each other.

Explore new mutations and crossbreed your pups until you create an anomalous monstrosity that still manages to steal your heart!

Extremely relaxing to just sit down and play a few games.
Simple yet complex, always has you striving to do better while also trying to make the best looking board.

I bought this when it came out; I love content for ETS, and enjoy supporting SCS Software because of how good they are at maintaining their game and staying in touch with the community!

Even so, they came back and added more content for owners of this DLC; without extra charge!
That's just a great deal; thanks SCS!
