Normally don't do reviews, but seeing as the PSN debacle seems to have turned, I am obligated to support my fellow Helldivers in reversing the Negative review trend we implemented.

Game good, game fun. Play game.

Q2 is great. Q2 re-release, like the Q1 re-release, is even better. It's now super accessible and now comes with the expansion packs and Quake 2 64. But most importantly THE SOUNDTRACK IS BACK.

In all seriousness, having completed all parts of the game on Nightmare, and more or less 100%'d it, this is a great remaster. I really enjoyed the Quake 1 remaster, but Quake 2 was one of the first FPS games I played when I was a kid (thanks grandpa, you were the best) and it left a lasting impact on me. I loved this game as a kid, and I still love it now.

Thanks to Nightdive and Machine Games for remastering these classic FPS games, it's awesome as hell.

Wholeheartedly recommend buying this game if you enjoy oldschool FPS and/or just want a gore-soaked romp through bunches of cyborg nightmares.

Early Access Review
The Overwhelmingly Positive rating this game has is well deserved. Other reviews can put into words why better than I can, but it's excellent.

This game is dangerous if you value your own productivity. I mean that as a compliment, it gobbles up hours faster than a game of Civilization (just one more town, I can get another done real quick!).

Game is a blast to play. The level design (from what I've played so far) benefits far more from open arenas where you can use your mobility compared to the more cramped levels. This is compounded by the fact that enemies in cramped zones (ie, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ frogs) make them a nightmare, but that's mostly a personal gripe. The only "major" issue I have is the plasma gun sound is actually painful as hell. The other sounds (from guns, to enemies, music, etc) are all really nice but whenever I have to use the PG (and you will want to use it for certain enemies) it becomes a race of "how fast can I kill the enemy that needs this so I can put it away."

Heavy Bolter makes up for it though. Number scores are for heretics but it's like a 9/10. For the price it's super fun and if you like retro-shooters you'll probably love it.

If you like any of the older Halo games, this is a great purchase, especially if you get it on sale. Just the campaigns alone are worth the price, and while I can't speak for the MP as a whole, I find firefight games really quickly, so I imagine the MP must be alive in some regard.

This game is real good. Really really good. Fantastic music, excellent controls (I used a 360 controller), good level of challenge throughout, and some highly cheeky characters/humor to boot.

I don't think this game is for everyone, but I do think it's worth a try if you like older-style platformer games. There has been an influx of these game types as of late, but in my opinion this one really shines and is worth the price.

Honestly used to really love this game, but it seems like it's gone down the toilet. I don't think it was ever very great, but it was at least playable. Having come back after a few months, I'm getting insta-fragged on spawn every game.

Takes forever to even find a game, then instant killed. Not so entertaining. Maybe I'm bad, but it seems like the game is imbalanced as hell. So we have a low population, potentially imbalanced game and I really don't know if it's being worked on anymore? Not quite a recipe for success.

Maybe something will change. Wouldn't get my hopes up though. Shame.
