First time Helldiver player here. Co-op PVE games shouldn't have Nerfs. Full stop. If anything you should Buff less used weapons. If you think adding new enemies constantly (I personally welcome the challenge) and THEN nerf the weapons at the same time is in some way fair, then you are misguided. There will always be a META in all games, because naturally we eventually narrow down the most EFFECTIVE way to deal with the current enemies.

Now, if you add more complicated enemies and steal a few mags from us at the same time, that's akin to someone arranging a fight for you, then revealing "Hey, they have a knife now but also I gotta tie one of your arms behind your back." It comes off as a totally Dev serving game, only for your enjoyment, but WE are the players, not you.

In a game like say, Destiny had PVE and PVP weapons, even in their spotty history of blessing/cursing certain guns, they still very clearly left the PVE weapons untouched. It was fair, never did I feel that they encroached too much on my Freeroam and Competitive play sessions.

I am still gonna keep playing the game because I believe you guys will turn this around. But damn it sucks right now.

Personally I can't even recco this game to new players because I am having trouble keeping up with the changes as well.

Get this and you will never feel like you wasted money on it.
