This game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fun.
I bought their damn pass just because I wanted to support the dev team keeping up the excellent work.
I like that the micro-transactions aren't in-your-face obnoxious and are mostly glamours.
I like that whales have to skill up in the game like the rest of us schlubs.

Why are you still reading reviews. It's free to play, so go and give it a try.
Yes, it's worth downloading and giving it a go!

There are bugs and it is definitely still not optimized for all PC builds, but I don't care. The vibe and story line strongly reminds me of original The Secret World. If you liked that, you'll enjoy this.

Early Access Review
So, if you play the starter runs (keeping gear score under 24) the game is absolutely amazing. The balance of enemies to other players is great and you're fairly evenly matched up.

Any game where you play with a score over 24 is disappointing and leaves me feeling very frustrated, ready to uninstall the game. Why? Even if you have some semi-uncommon loot, the game matches you up to people with the highest tier gear that can just ignore all damage from monsters and tear across the level to murder your ass.

For example, I will be in full green gear (slightly better than common trash) as a level 38 player and will constantly get thrown into fights of 120+ level people with full orange and blue sets that would move faster than me (because of stat enhancements on the gear) and two-shot kill me. It was not worth playing.

Also, you'll pretty frequently run across players who are teaming up in the "solo" fights. No way to report them, just accept it and hope you can kill one and escape.

Even League of legends knows to match people with similar skills and rankings against each other. In this game if you're not paying for epic stuff, you are just a lamb to the slaughter.

Super awesome game that actually allows me to relax and not be stressed out. Interesting progression features around curse and bonuses. 6 hours in and still learning new things with every playthrough.

This is NOT an RPGmaker trash game (don't think they even used that to build this game, though art and gameplay styles are kinda similar).

The translations can be a bit weird sometimes, but overall stellar experience and worth picking up if you want something with high replayability and deep systems you can sink your teeth into (especially for theory-crafting best builds).

Few spots where you'll probably want to jump on the steam community to check out a guide (especially around the riddles mini-games). I'm almost 20 hours in and I feel like I haven't even scratched more than a small surface area of the combat, relationship, and crafting mechanics. Nothing has felt like a grind so far.

Really love the soundtrack and flow of combat. Occasionally I find myself muttering "okay jerk, I'll be back next life to repay you in full" and I'm already planning a demon-king murder spree run in my head. Lots to find and explore.
100% gamers are going to lose their minds.

Fun game. Player progression and replayability is very high. The gameplay is engaging and I have spent tens of hours exploring card, combinations and classes. This felt like I was playing slay the spire again for the first time it’s an enjoyable card game that I would recommend to anyone who is looking to spend around 80 hours in a fun single player deckbuilder roguelike

DLC plus Quality of Death has made this game one of my favorites in 2023. It's fun to play alone but really shines when you have at least one friend to play with (assuming they're not a literal or figurative loot goblin).

Worth picking up at retail price and a must have if you can grab it during a steam sale. I haven't had this much fun in a co-op game since the gears of war series.

This game is amazing. Love it. Level design, music, art style, story, character progression and mechanic pacing for unlocks. There is nothing that comes to mind that I find lacking.

I can feel the love and care with which the team crafted the game and there is nothing but awe that I have for this release. Indisputably my game of the year pick for 2023.

Stupid puzzle / dungeon crawler game has eaten my life. I have RPGs to play! I need to replay cyberpunk, but here I am going through the dozens of game modes trying to beat each of them.

Damnit! Have some heart and make your game a little less enjoyable so I can finally go to bed at a reasonable time instead of suddenly looking up from my screen and realizing I've got work in 4 hours.

Yes, recommended. Yes, it's fun. Stop reading and just try the damn demo.

Beware that you might accidentally forget to go to sleep because you're so focused on beating that last boss with some of the harder combat classes.

This is one of my favorite card turn-based combat games released in the last few years. The graphics are great and game mechanics polish is right up there with Slay the Spire, Banners of Ruin, Guild of Dungeoneering, and Hand of Fate. Extremely high replay-ability with new unlocks and classes with every play through.

This is a must have for card battler lovers (pve).

It's a fun card game. Better if you have a friend to play it with.
