I'm only 26 hours in, but damn Ive had a blast. If youre into complex logistic then theres a ton for you to do, if youre not into that and you just want to storm trenches with a machinegun you can also do that!

Fun community, interesting system for commending players for contributing to the war effort, I will likely continue to enjoy this game for years to come.

The gameplay is fun but shallow in my nearly 100 hours Ive had a pretty good time.

but heres the issue.

The community team from Arrow head studio has been openly antagonistic towards the community pretty much from day one.

they also frequently lie to us and attempt to gas light us about future updates and game changes, then most players who are no longer happy with the changes.

They also have a habit of nerfing the previous battle pass weapons right as the new ones are about to go on sale.

Now to play helldivers 2 on the PC through Steam you have to make a PlayStation account and sign on to that to play the game. Their response to community back lash?
"if you dont like it leave a bad review on steam"

Update 6/12/204

It looked for a while that Arrowhead was going to change for the better, but more or less all promises were broken. While spitz stepped down,the staff have doubled down on their BS. So now if you have any reaction to the furry posting on the discord you are now banned. The gun fixed we were promised are still months out because now suddenly when applying buffs AH wants to ensure they are fully tested.

More MTX has been shoved down our throats.


TLDR: Arrowhead was thought to be the dev company to stay above the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and show the industry how to make a live service game, instead they have shown that it was all a show to get us to buy their game and their skins.

Its a shame, they should have been the game of the decade.

its low poly count battlefield 3.

no content or playerbase splitting DLC, only MTX is a supporter pack with a couple skins.

Flawlessly running game that is just loads of fun, possibly the best way to spend $15 I can think of.

Constantly pushing anti player updates, funcom owned, abusive MTX schemes, and devs who outright admit that they dont care what the playerbase thinks or wants/

after almost 600 hours I think I'm finally done with conan sadly. it was a fun run.

Leave the children alone.

It was a tarkov without the BS and in space originally but now the devs have pivoted to a more PVE focused game with several interviews stating that they want to scale back the pvp.

a toxic community who bought a pvp game and are fighting for the game to become pve

and the worst and byfar most serious.

the devs made aprox 6 million in the first 30 days of early access release. in that span they have not hired more devs to work on bug fixes, little to none of which have been fixed, they have not invested in marketing, they have not even given a united idea of what the game is going to be.

when asked if they were going to focus on bug fixes after the December update they said no, they wanted to focus on adding more content into the game.

All in all this feels like a cash grab and is further reinforced when you look at their last game that also never left EA and was suddenly abandoned

its like DAYZ but better in literally every way

DAYZ was the game that burnt me on survival games and early access games

SCUM is the game that restored my enjoyment in both.

Constant crashes
Buggy and at times non responsive AI
and "improved UI"

Man the devs really made some fumbles, however, at 15 bucks Ive had a mostly fun time, however, in campaign I can non longer fight battles otherwise my game crashes, which somewhat ruins the game for me. hopefully the next update can fix this.

for 15 bucks it has reached my dollar to fun ratio with a buck thereabout to an hour of game time is what you should enjoy with your money.

If this is the game you grew up playing its a must buy just for the sound track and nostalgic vibes.

2023 update

Tencent bought part of OWI last year, content updates have slowed down significantly, they are stealing a mod to create their own game from it, and they are adding MTX into the game.

This is an unsurprising change after Chinese investment and then them putting a mobile game dev as CEO

Ive uninstalled the game and have zero plans on playing again

RIP squad, you were a fun but buggy game.

Squad took all of the fun parts of arma and left the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and frustrating parts with BI. Great tactical game play you can jump into, reasonable graphics for a $40 game with a incredible mod scene.

This is not a AAA game,however, It IMO keeps up with many of them for ease of use and just working.

The mod community is amazing, so if you want to shout "Do you want to live forever" as you blast bugs, be a zombie/survivor or live your best clone life blasting the roger roger types this is certainly the game for you.
