Shows the horrors civilians have to endure. Worth a play but it's hard going.

I wouldn't play this game even if it was free.

First you play with friends and 650 hours later you wonder where your life went and you no longer have any friends. 10/10.

Early Access Review
After an additional chunk of hours after 2 years I'll revise my review, but it's still not a recommendation sadly.

I've played 1500 hours of They Are Billions (TAB), which Age of Darkness (AOD) is inspired by, so I was excited to play a new style of TAB. Unfortunately after 2 years AOD is still in development so I can't recommend anyone looking for more than a few hours of gameplay for the price the game is at now. There are a lot of bugs and whilst there are some nice gameplay ideas it's just such a long and micro-management based game I still honestly can't say it's an overly enjoyable experience right now.

Survival is where the most play time is, but the balancing of the 3 factions you can play isn't great. Generally most games play out the same way, and whether you're successful largely depends on RNG.

The campaign is decent, with an above average storyline and voice acting, but it’s not without its frustrations. There are bugs which should be resolved, but some of it just doesn’t feel well thought out. Here’s hoping another 2 years in the slow cooker will see the game reach its potential…

Press space, left click and right click. Rinse and repeat in different orders. GG.

This game has a lot of potential but there is a long way to go. Too many bugs and issues and not a lot of depth. I appreciate the free weekend to try and increase the player base, but after 3hrs me and my 3 friends feel we have seen all there is to do. Not great value really, but I'll check back in a year and hopefully the game has evolved more by then.

Trackmania Turbo is essentially a disappointing console port version of the Trackmania I used to love. I've played the Trackmania series since the demo of the very original Trackmania all the way through to Canyon before returning now to Turbo. And what a disappointment it is. Gone are nice features such as the leaderboards for solo and online. Instead there is a basic system that tells you where are, but it's largely pointless as you can't see who is around you. The graphics, interface, features and handling all feel more basic than its predecessors. Granted it is an arcade game, but previous Trackmania games have felt like a fine tuned polished PC game, whereas this feels dumbed down for the consoles and then ported to the PC.

Overall I've put a lot of hours into a game I really don't enjoy. I've been chasing developer Trackmaster times simply because my OCD demands it, but in reality I enjoy about 1% of my time in this game. I'm now at the point where my dislike of the game is overtaking my OCD which really is saying something. I appreciate I'm playing and reviewing this game years after its first release, but they are still charging £33.99 which is more than a lot of new games. The multiplayer servers are now completely empty making online multiplayer pointless. I'm glad I got the game on offer for about 66% off, but I still feel this is poor value for money. Sorry Nadeo, I love the Trackmania series but I feel like this game was a massive step backwards.

I bought this game 4 years ago. Now it is free to play and I can't even login anymore without giving all my personal data to Epic. No thanks.

Same GTA formula that has been around for over a decade...getting bored now. Really need to find a way to make this game more interesting and unique. Online has potential but too much hassle to play online with friends.
