So far game is great and works really well on a mid-tier pc (high settings).
I have not experienced any crashes or bugs yet.

The game looks incredible and I'm looking forward to playing more. :)
PS. Having an actual prolog/intro is great and also gave me Charnobylite vibes tbh

That's a pretty early review so take it with a grain of salt.
First, if you plan to buy Forever Winter, consider whether the game is in its current technical state interests you at all. (If you don't want to risk it/play around with refunds later, you can wait until October for the demo.)

For me, the gameplay so far is exactly what I wanted, a brutal PVE game.
Graphics.. hmm I dunno how, but the game looks awesome even in these low/medium settings.
Bugs? Hmm mostly AI ones that have not been game-breaking so far, just funny to watch xD (for example enemies standing right next to each other and waiting around 10 seconds to shoot each other)
Difficulty? Damn, that's a tough one, however, I think it's as hardcore as the devs envisioned.

That game is not for everyone, especially in actual state of it which for sure needs a lot of work. But am I happy that I purchased and supported the vision I enjoy so much? Yeah.
A game for everyone is a game for no one.

F2P is just trial, but even tho u can still have lots of fun.
Personally Im considering buying it thanks to that "trial/f2p".
Give it a try, free is a fair price isn't it?

On AMD Ryzen 5 7600 6-Core and AMD Radeon RX 6700XT u can play pretty smothly. For now fps limiter was not working well, but still hold fps around 100 on low/medium settings with FSR on quality setting.

And PvE without 250$ price tag :)

I think I get the point of other reviews, but despite that, I personally enjoy the game. It is not even close to perfect, sometimes feeling a bit outdated, but as a DFO fan, I really enjoyed it either way. If you're just a Gatcha games fan, then it might not be your cup of tea, but if u like an "Beat 'em up" style of gameplay mixed with in my opinion solid gameplay and an interesting story (Which might need some clarity in future, but still I like it) then feel free to give it a try. I mean the game is free so you're not wasting much more than a bit of your time.
Also, I would recommend watching at least first intro/cutscene even if u're not into the story.

Edit: Worth mentioning is the fact that opposite to other Gatcha games the first characters u get for free are actually really good and u can play without even pulling, so there is not that much difference between some 5 and 4 stars. (Personally, I even enjoyed these characters more than anything I pulled later on)

For Democracy!

If u enjoyed games like Diablo, Vampire Survivors, or Hades then u will probably have a great time with this one. It's kind of a mix of three genres and I do really like it personally. After around 14 hours into the game, I still have some stuff to do, especially try out many builds and gather some artifacts/equipment.
For now, the game has only one map, but according to the roadmap, we will see a new one in Q1 of 2024 so there will be much more content.
Also atm there are 5 classes, but 6th will be added with a new map. For now, 4 of them are melee but their playstyles are different thanks to attack patterns and starter buffs/perks that are separate for each class. ( 6th class is ranger so it might be one of the most interesting classes )

To sum up, the game is really cheap and worth the price.
