I love this game.
I bought this game at launch for the PS3 and every time I played through, I never finished the game. Something always happens when I make it to chapter 13 and either my save gets wiped or the game disappears.
Now I have a digital copy so I can FINALLY get to play all the way through the game from beginning to end.

This review can be taken either way as far as recommendations.

I love this game as it is one of very few FPS games set in the Vietnam War.

Two major flaws in this game that is not bringing players back IMO would have to be either Level Progression and/or lack of vehicles. The ONLY vehicles that are used in the game are helicopters and they can ONLY be used by one team. Level progression is completely redundant as the only thing that you unlock is cosmetics which is not really widely used, which does not feel like you should even try to level up if you do not really earn anything.

If they added more maps with ground vehicles such as transport vehicles or tanks that were used during the war, or even more equipment such as mortars and more traps like pitfalls and more slots for special units such as snipers and more period weapons, then there would be an increase of players.

Honestly though, this has been out for a long time now and the game still feels like its just bare bones with the most basic features.

Fun game while it lasted, Devs ended up pulling the plug on this game after they acquired it in 2023.

Lots of memories, made some new friends, but after all the new updates that were added just years before, the devs decided to end it all.

F U to the devs and may the memories last a lifetime!

Its a fun idle game.

Reason for negative review is due to Steam locking this game away from Windows 7, 8, 8.1 users.

Base Price: $3.99
Dark Mode DLC: $9.99

You are paying more for a more appealing color theme than the actual program itself on top of already having a "Donation DLC" that is already $9.99 which would mean if you want the Dark Mode option, you HAVE to donate $9.99 for it.

You can always get the program for free on Github (github com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming) without the Dark Mode.

Paying $3.99 is already a "Donation" to support them however adding DLC for a color theme & Donations really is a greedy move on their part if the program is already free to begin with if not through Steam.

[UPDATE]

Base Price increased to: $6.99
Dark Mode DLC decreased to: $4.99

So to mitigate the drop in price for an additional option for a dark mode, they instead cut the price in half for the DLC and raised the base price by $3 when the program itself is open source and free with previous versions and has always been $3.99 ever since it was released on Steam on July 23, 2015.

Full of hackers/cheaters.
No way to report players.
No way to check other players accounts.
No Anit-Cheat.
Game randomly wont let you respawn after death in Team Deathmatch.
Very short sprint duration.
Battle Pass only has 10 free items, making it Pay-to-Play.

For as long as the game has been out, there has been no Anit-Cheat set in place which pretty much tells me the Developers do not plan to have any set up in the future. It also confirms they are endorsing the use of cheats in the game.

Until they actually do something about cheating in this game, I will continue to keep this review up.

Cannot play with friends at all, requires Port Forwarding setup just to get players to connect to your world.

Do not believe their word on players connecting to players. My friend and I have spent 30-60 minutes trying to connect to each other just to find out we need to change the settings on our routers just to be able to connect which is a huge hassle.

Only way I will ever recommend this game to anyone is if they change they way how players connect to players without needing third-party actions just to play with others. Meaning, if they start doing what other games are doing and not require port access for connections then the game would be worth playing.

Currently this game is a SINGLE PLAYER game due to the fact that you cannot play with your friends unless someone pays for a third-party server, creates a dedicated server on their PC, or has to go through the long process of Port Forwarding.

Do not believe the lie of "Connect With Your Friends" when in fact you cannot.

This is considered a dead game with no possible way to play multiplayer with friends without using unsafe methods.

One of the very few, if not the only game out there were you literally do not need to throw money at the game for any thing even for premium currency or status since you can just buy it with normal in-game currency.

With how the game is currently running, the entire economy is pretty much being run by the players. The Gold Market is the best system since you don't have to spend real money to get any since you can buy gold with your silver and vise versa. Premium Accounts can be purchased by spending Gold, Silver, or with real money so it is entirely up to the players on what they want to do.

Anyone can create a guild and own their own island for them selves and/or guild. Personal Islands can only be bought once your account has had 7 days worth of premium, after that you can keep your island even if you no longer have premium status.

2024 Edit -
There are a lot of negative reviews I have read for the game about players straight up killing you for fun. I have experienced this HOWEVER it is YOUR choice to enter these zones. The zones in which PvP are available are Yellow, Red & Black zones. These zones are designed for PvP and it even gives you a warning before entering these zones that PvP is enabled so if you enter by your own choice, it is your own responsibility whether you are attacked or not based off of the zone you have entered. Yellow zones the player gets knocked down and NOT killed however in Red & Black zones, players will be killed and you lose everything. You also DO NOT NEED to enter Red & Black zones ever in the game if you choose not to, it is your choice.

There are also negative reviews about the market not turning you a profit. You can make a profit on the market by purchasing items cheaply and selling them for a higher place in other cities. Be sure you know what item you want to flip to make a profit FIRST before doing so by traveling to each city and checking the price or the item. It is best to strip naked and travel using the travel planners in each royal city. You can flip any item and make a profit if you do your research first. You can make huge profits just by doing this with resources too, even with Rough Logs as they are everywhere, easy to gather & they are always in demand for building materials.

(News) At the time of updating this review, using an alt character, I have made a 500k profit just from selling 2 full stacks of Rough Logs, 3 full stack of Birch Planks, 2 full stack of Chestnut Planks & an Expert Lumberjack Tome (which I have obtained from gathering)

As I have said, you DO NOT need to go into PvP zones if you are trying to earn silver by selling low tier resources, and if you want to do safe flipping for greater profits, travel through the Blue safe regions to each city, which will take longer but safer, and do market research before doing so, so you can make as much profit as possible with minimal risk for high rewards.

It's a great game, a lot of farming and grind but there is so much to the game that even if you complete the star chart, you can do it all again with a hard mode which instead of increasing the level of enemies by 20-40, they are increased by 100 making it a true hard mode. With the addition to free roam areas (total of 3) and the Railjack to fight in a new star chart, there is much to explore.

There are a few issues in the game but mostly from bugs in missions but they are all minor so its not really a concern but the resources required for research in Clan Dojo's are multiplied by the Clan Size so if you are starting a Clan and get a lot of members, you will need all members to help you with research.

The game can be played entirely by Solo but it is more challenging to do so, and it is recommended to play with other players for void relics to increase a chance to get prime parts that you are missing as well as some missions that are challenging to new players like assassination missions.
