UPDATED REVIEW AS OF 3/12/22

So in my initial playthrough I encountered a gamebreaking bug (details below) and had to completely restart. Only way to get rid of the bug was to manually delete save information and start over. After restarting I did not encounter the bug again and was able to complete the game although I backed up my save regularly just in case the bug reappeared.

So this game is overall pretty fantastic. The art direction really ages super well especially with a 4k remaster and just oozes that mystery the series is known for. The areas are the real highlight of the game imo and its absolutely genius how interconnected the game is. Even though bonfire warping isn't available until later in the game and its quite limited, it is pretty easy to get around. The variety of armors, weapons, magicks, and so forth allows for a very flexible approach to playstyle. You really can play the game any way you want. Personally I went for a strength build and found it very rewarding (ultra greatswords ftw). Combat isn't particularly difficult as long as you're patient and don't overextend. Most of my deaths were from getting greedy or falling off cliffs.

Boss fights are okay. The designs are really cool aesthetically but most weren't particularly challenging (especially coming from Sekiro) and you could pretty much circle strafe and spam R1 to win. The DLC bossfights are probably the highlight for me with Artorius being my favorite and Manus being the most challenging. By the time I got to the final boss of the game I was able to just facetank and dunk on him ezpz.

Overall the game was a great experience and I am going to change my review to a positive one since there is no mixed review and a gamebreaking bug took this game from being a 9 out of 10 to a 6 or 7 out of 10 at best which is something I just can't ignore. Instead I will leave my initial review up as a warning to other people.

BELOW IS INITIAL REVIEW AFTER 30 HOURS GAMEPLAY (2/26/22) AND ENCOUNTERING GAMEBREAKING BUG. I STILL STAND BY EVERYTHING I SAID.

It honestly pains me to give this game a negative review but I encountered a gamebreaking bug where out of nowhere my bonfires were unlit and unkindled, I was unable to go hollow, and despite possessing the lord vessel, I was unable to advance the questline with kaath which is vital to finishing the game. Kaath would just act like I didnt have the Lordvessel in my inventory. Not very happy with having 30ish hours of gaming go down the drain due to an unfixable bug. Online it seems others have encountered a similar bug that also infects new characters and is only resolved by manually deleting character data from game files.

How close I came to beating the game before it broke really was unfortunate because it completely soiled what was an otherwise phenomenal experience up to that point. I hope this bug can be addressed in the future so that I can maybe come back at some point but honestly its pretty inexcusable to have such a gamebreaking bug in a 4 year old remaster of an 11 year old game.

This game is a great intro to souls like games. The gunplay and abilities feel nice, the bosses are mostly interesting, fairly challenging and a few of them are some of the best designed fights I've encountered in a video game.

The game starts off pretty hard especially depending on what you roll for the first few bosses since there are bosses that can be incredibly frustrating to deal with before you get the right equipment and abilities however the game gets progressively much easier on subsequent playthroughs. Once you're geared up, have decent stats, and kinda know the "trick" to bosses and enemies it's a cakewalk.

The story is kinda meh and feels half-baked imo but it's really in the background. Where this game shines is the art, environments, combat, and gameplay loop.

Highly recommend the game and it was well worth what I paid for it

Blasphemous is a game that hits just right on so many levels. Catholic horror themes inspired by the Spanish Inquisition, interesting lore, gorgeous art, unique level and character designs, punishing combat, proper metroidvania exploration and back tracking, interesting abilities, some fairly challenging boss fights, and even free updates/dlc.

Combat is punishing and the game can be a real assbeater at the beginning forcing you to learn how to deal with enemies and situations the hard way. Some bosses were a total cakewalk imo and others were a major pain in the ass with a few in particular that might end up being walls for some people.

The only downsides to the game imo are some of the instadeath portions of the platforming which are more annoying than difficult and the fact that the platforming itself isn't as crisp as it could be kinda makes this even more needlessly frustrating.

Overall 9/10 game and I can't wait for the next one.

One of the best games of all time. Absolutely a must play and is basically the gold standard for open world RPG games IMO.

Cyberpunk suffered from too many delays, untempered expectations, cut content, and bugs galore, ultimately leading to a ♥♥♥♥ launch and well deserved criticism. It should have never released on older consoles either and those who thought it would run were fooling themselves. However with all the problems this game has, its still a fun experience on PC. I personally only ran into a few minor bugs like quests not completing or UI bugs that were resolved with a quick reload. The city and environments are phenomenal and the art is really where this game shines. Quests were pretty much what I expected coming from TW3 with lots of interesting little details to discover. The Cyberpunk theme was well done, nothing to complain about there. Combat feels pretty good especially the melee stuff which is hard to get right in and FPS

So on to the bad stuff. AI and npc behavior is lackluster to say the least. The long cutscene with jackie before the heist felt like 3 hours of cut content. The lifepaths dont really make any difference outside of flavor and you kinda always end up as a streetkid after the intro which felt like they cut down content a lot. Hacking is pretty much OP and almost necessary to complete optional objectives most of the time. Cyber upgrades do nothing to alter your appearance as well which was supposed to be a feature according to promo materials.

Theres a bit more but that covers the basics. Overall the game is a 6/10 and I enjoyed it and hope it improves with upcoming DLC but it needs a lot of work to gain back any goodwill CDPR burned through with this rough release.

Great game. The only really annoying part is the escape scenes which are frustrating and not particularly satisfying to beat and I play fighting games so this is coming from a gaming masochist.

The artwork and soundtrack are top notch and worth it alone but the platforming is fairly fluid (I played this on a hitbox) and the metroidvania elements of exploration and upgrades are well done. Each area feels pretty distinct and the difficulty scales pretty well with progression. If you expected a lot of combat you might be disappointed since the combat is there but is very secondary to the platforming. If you want a combat heavy game then blasphemous and hollow knight are probably more your thing. Honestly I would put this in must-play territory but the platforming puzzles might be a bit of a barrier for people who arent familiar with the genre so that might keep some from really enjoying the game.

The best way to describe Tekken 7 is a slow baptism by fire.

The difficulty of Tekken mostly comes from the sheer amount of knowledge you have to acquire to play the game. Don't know the matchup? Get ready to get dunked on.

Overall awesome game, general balance is decent despite powercreep on damage and wall carry. New characters are overtuned and online is garbage (seriously GGPO is free, get with the times) but I have had so much fun playing Tekken with friends especially offline. Nothing beats offline Tekken with the homies.

I loved this game when I first started in October. Put 600 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hours into it, finally had the builds I wanted on my characters but now with Bungee changing the powerful friends mod so that it doesn't stack, the sunsetting of gear (which has some of the worst RNG involved in it and I played 1k hours of Warframe) and pinnacle weapons (all that grind for nothing RIP 21% delirium) I just CANNOT in good conscious recommend this game to ANYONE.

Three months ago I would have told anyone they should play but not anymore. Bungee managed to burn my enthusiasm in the game by deciding to retire weapons and gear from the game, many of which were locked behind paywalls such as the season pass loot and raids, and essentially tell me that my time investment into their game was worth ♥♥♥♥ all. A shame, really. This game has so much going for it I just don't understand why they continually go out of their way to ruin it.

"The last thing we wanted was for you to look at your favorite gun or helmet and decide that it had become obsolete...the time you invested in your stuff should be respected."
-Bungie, 2014

Well that was a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lie.

My first PC game was Rollercoaster Tycoon 1 and I have so many fond memories of that game that I was thrilled to finally find a game that seems to capture the spirit of the RCT games when so many other attempts, while interesting and impressive, felt soulless. Parkitect is clearly a labor of love and I can't wait to see what else the devs add to the game. 10/10 theme park sim.
