I don't think I can recommend the game at full price. I think the combat system is a huge improvement over Inquisition, but the story, and characters are shallow. The maps are decent, and I enjoyed the exploration side of the game, but some of the side quests were boring, and out-right useless. The companions felt emotionless, the factions were basically pointless outside of wearing different armor and having unique accents. The "Good Guys" were good, and the "Bad Guys" were bad, Solas was by far the most interesting character, but played almost 0 impact on the entire game... I myself felt conflicted on whether or not to "forgive" him and give him a second chance, but everyone else in the game had condemned him to being pure evil from the very beginning and never looked back.

I wish companions had a feeling of morals and ethics, but never once can you talk to anyone about whether ruling Antiva with a bunch of murder happy assassins is a good thing, and maybe the Grey Wardens have lost their way and become over politicized, the Lords of Fortune were basically irrelevent. Also I wish my companions would be more angry with the choices I made, I felt torn on whether to help Minrathous or Treviso stop their dragons, only for my companions to really not care one way or the other. That and it was pretty sad to see the Dragon fight in Mithrathous re-use the map from the beginning portion of the game... like come on...

I also wish they included more "Bad Guy" factions, it was annoying that it was just the Antaam, Darkspawn, and Tevinter no matter where you go in the game, each map didn't feel diverse because it was the same enemies over and over. Inquisition also did a much better job at making your player feel more involved in the story, do you save the Mages, or the Templars, do the Grey Wardens deserve forgiveness or not? Your companions had convictions and would argue their points and vehemently disagree with you, and gaining a negative opinion was possible. Inquisition also felt better in the sense that you actually felt like you were building something, you fought 1 "god" in that game with an Army and allied several nations together to fight him. There are now 2 Ancient Evil Blighted Gods this time around and somehow you only fight them with a handful of characters and some shadow societies, no army, no new faction, nothing, just you and the squad.

I thought long and hard on whether I would thumbs up or down, but honestly I am too disappointed in the title to justify a "recommend"

Worse than Madden24, Worse than Madden23, Worse than Madden22... this title continues to get worse and worse... the O-Line Pass Blocking is non-existent, zone coverage is completely broken, the new physics tackling system is glitchy as hell and will cause a runner to break through 3-6 players tackling him. Franchise has gotten worse, they continue to demonstrate the only thing they care about is MUT and microtransactions alongside it. The rest of the game continues to be ignored. Glad I got this on a sale, $70 is highway robbery.

Having played a few more hours in this game, I wanted to add to my review, and double down on the "Don't Recommend."

The largest reason is purely around how frustratingly bad the AI is both to trust on defense, and to play against. Instead of creating a competent AI, EA has decided to have it just blatantly cheat and call perfect counters to everything you attempt to do. From Flat Defenders strangely following deep routes, to checking out of a run the moment you say to run commit. 100 times out of 100 times, the AI will "guess" perfectly on All Madden Difficulty and the only way to consistently beat it is to cheese it with broken plays, looking at you slants and mid blitz, which makes the game shallow and not fun.

I have never been this addicted to a survival crafting game such as this, it combines all the elements I enjoy from other titles into one.

I have played Hearts of Iron since the original game. When I heard they were releasing this 4th Expansion, I was so stoked! However this is hardly the Hearts of Iron I knew, but I appreciate that, this game is a lot friendlier to newcomers to the franchise. The best thing about it is the mods however, endless mods with unlimited outcomes for each playthrough. By far one of the best WW2 strategy games on the market.

I have enjoyed this game a ton, it mixes a perfect amount of open world and free roam without overwhelming people or causing me to get off track. It has collectable but not so many that I grow tired of collecting them, solid story, and gameplay. 10/10

so much fun! i got this and have not played any other game since. i would definetly recomend this game! only one problem is that it lags when dealing \with a very big ship/station.
