this game makes me feel like Jesse in Breaking Bad when he goes go karting and feels absolutely nothing

You can hunt wildlife with shovels
You can throw them like spears
You can swing them like a bat
You can clear an entire outpost with only a shovel
You can get a perk that allows you to carry, I am not kidding here, 9 shovels
My shovels thrown per minute, (or STPM) is honestly insane
There is also something about a cult and you need to save people, look the point is there is no better game that allows you to shovel your way to the end as good as what i have played so far.

I am a 54-year old father, probably one of the oldest people playing this game.
I am a single father to my son, who is now 14. My son recently started playing this game.
In less than a week, he had already played for over 20 hours.
This was terrible for me because it was already hard enough for me to spend time with my son
because he was always out with his friends or watching YouTube. So I decided to make a Steam
account to play with my son. I started playing, but this was my first time playing a video game
since the 90's, so I was quite lost. I asked my son for help, and together we spent some hours playing this game.
I loved it as it was the best time I had spent with my son since my wife had died. Playing video games
reminded me that there's fun to be had in everything, and it has brought
me and my son closer again, and now we actually spend time together outside the house as well.

As an Australian, this game is the perfect representation of my day to day life.

doubt anyone ever really reads reviews but I just want to get this out of my chest. This game helped me forget about reality for a moment. Hard mode in this game is way more manageable than life outside gaming, at least you could save to a checkpoint and retry again, unlike in real life where I constantly live and dwell on regrets. Idk why I'm feeling this way, but these past few weeks it felt like my life had no meaning and no direction, to the point where I just wanna disappear– but stumbling upon this game and playing it made me feel like I had some inkling of purpose to still breathe. games like these just makes me forget about my problems in real life and helps me pretend to be something with purpose. I sound like an idiot right now but I had no one to talk to and I feel like just breaking down at any moment, sharing this to strangers in the internet feels like a bit of pain eased off me although I just wanna sob while typing this.

I'm sorry for the depressed ranting, but if anyone wants to play this game, I highly recommend it.
