I would probably suggest not getting Crash 4. It was a nice bit of nostalgic fun for the first few worlds and the game looks amazing, but getting 100% on a level is not at all fun, especially considering that every single level has hard-to-find hidden boxes, and getting the flashback tapes, especially on the later levels, is a frustrating challenge. Depth can sometimes be hard to tell where you are when jumping, particularly on the rails sections. The last few worlds in general have been the least fun I've had gaming in a while. I knew it was hard going in, but it's an unfun, frustrating experience. I'm only finished because I was close to the end and it was a matter of principle.

I love the original trilogy and I've 100%'d those games and the N'Sane Trilogy, but this just wasn't it for me. If you want a platformer that's tough and frequently frustrating, and/or enjoy tediousness en route to 100%ing the game (or in this case 106%), then you'll enjoy the game. If you only love Crash in HD with beautiful worlds and balanced gameplay throughout, I would probably skip this game.

Takes a bit to get used to the controls, but it's a fun puzzle/platformer. Highly recommend with friends.

This game starts off kind of weird to get used to, but once you get the hang of it, it's super fun.

Update 3 years later: Still fun. I play it more often than I probably should.

Another update: A game I still boot up. Easy to hop into for a couple games, and easy to get lost playing for hours.

2020 update: Consider this game my yearly Steam awards update game. Still love it.
