I'd only recommend Dark Souls 3 if you've played the other games first, it is harder than DS1 and equally as difficult as DS2 but not as punishing as DS2. I'd say that DS3 is a 9/10, it very nearly captures the same lightning which DS1 had and it built upon everything that was great about DS2. There a few times were I felt like the game was actually unfair, which I rarely experienced in DS1 such as the Pontiff Sulyvhan fight which is easily one of the most aggravating boss fight in the entire series. I'd even compare him to Bed Of Chaos from DS1, but other than that most the other fights are very manageable.

DS3 is definitely the most linear of the games but exploration is still rewarded nicely with shortcuts and extra resources, weapons, etc in typical fashion but the world just doesn't feel as interconnected as DS1 did. There aren't many options to tackle other locations if you get stuck somewhere *Cough* Pontiff Sulyvahn *Cough* and the game doesn't 'upon up' as much locations wise towards the 2nd half of the game like in DS1 and DS2.

Finishing the game didn't hit me quite like Dark Souls 1 did but the ending is still awesome and there's a lot more alternate endings in DS3 compared to the earlier games. The final boss is also such an amazing fight to wrap up the game with and I'd say its probably one of the best boss fights in the series and probably the whole game.

I definitely think its worth a shot if you're experienced with soulsborne games but if its going to be your first game I'd 100% recommend playing Dark Souls 1 first, its a lot more beginner friendly compared to DS3 and especially DS2. Still an absolutely fantastic game but you should wait for a sale because its still pretty pricey for a nearing 8 year old game.

I never played the original from 2008 but from what I hear this is a great reboot of a beloved game for a lot of people, I think its definitely worth a try but I'm not sure if I'd recommend it at full price. Dead Space kind of known as a horror game but its not a typical horror game with lots of jumpscares and instead there's a lot more tension and buildup as you're walking through the Ishimura. The combat system is really amazing and its surprising that such a simple change from the standard makes Dead Space stand out so much, cutting limbs off of enemies is not even that revolutionary but it just feels great. The level of detail is really amazing too, when you shoot the limbs off Necromorphs you can see the skin and muscle getting blasted off with each shot if they get right up in your face.

The sound design and atmosphere really great, when you first land you can hear screaming and people yelling for help and then towards the end of the game its just silence and the only thing you can hear are the screams of Necromorphs. The musical stings are so good as well, you'll be walking through a nearly pitch black hallway with no music and a Necromorph will drop out of the ceiling and suddenly everything gets turned up to 11 as its charging at you trying to rip you in half.

All of the weapons are viable too they all feel great to use as they all damage enemies in unique ways. The Flamethrower burns them to a crisp, the Force Gun strips their skin, then you use the grenade launcher on the Pulse Rifle and arms and legs just go everywhere immobilising the Necromorphs, and then the Ripper comes in just cuts everything to pieces with blood going literally everywhere. God there is so much blood and gore in this game, its seriously crazy. I never found the game particularly scary but there's sections that just leave you thinking "what the ♥♥♥♥" and I think the camera helps with this as after clearing an area you can turn the camera to look at Isaac and his suit is just covered head to toe in blood.

I think Dead Space is definitely worth a try if you've been thinking of playing it, its a really good game and a great reboot of an already great game.

Edit: My only true complaint about BG3 was the ending and now that Larian Studios has added an epilogue to the end of the game I really have nothing bad to say about it anymore. The epligoue is honestly everything that I could have wished for as an official ending to the game. All of your companion's storylines get finished perfectly and there's lots of unique endings for each companion.

I don't even know what to say other than Baldur's Gate 3 is the best game I've ever played in my life, the story, the characters, the combat, level design all come together to create such an outsandingly polished game. BG3 is probably a once in a lifetime game and you're making a mistake if you choose to not try it out. BG3 is a prime example of the standard of what we should get, no exploitative microtransactions, no in game pay walls and most importantly a fully released game.

Whatever price you put on your time I promise you that you will get it back tenfold with Baldur's Gate, for $90 I believe that it is absolutely beyond worth the price. I played close to 110hrs on one adventure and I was being extremely thorough in my search for treasure, if you purely went for main quest objectives you could probably get by finishing the game in around 50 hours but if you wanted to 100% the game I can easily see it requiring 200 hours of playtime.

When you inevitably end up buying BG3 look up a simple combat tutorial and please create your own character and I beg you to not google the 'best class' or walkthroughs for encounters, use the autosave function and play your way and you will enjoy it so much more because you will actually see the world shaping around you due to your own choices.

This is one of the few games where I actually watched the entire credits sequence in awe and genuinely felt emotional because of what I just went through, the only other games that struck me like that were Dark Souls 1, Morrowind and Skyrim, Bungie's Halo and Elden Ring. I really cannot express how invested you get with the characters in your party and its so painful when you have to say goodbye.

If Dark Souls 1 was a 10/10 then I would give Dark Souls 2 a 7/10. There are a few flaws with the game such as wacky hitboxes, being bit less straight forward compared to DS1 (Which can be a good or bad thing I guess) and a little bit of a confusing story which I personally couldn't really get engaged with. The biggest flaw however which DS2 has is that upon death you lose 10% of your health, this can be reversed using Human Effigies however in the early game they are quite difficult to come by and can really stall your progress in certain places.

I think most of the bosses are pretty cool there's only really one or two such as Ruin Sentinels and the 'Gank Squad' which just feel cheap much like Bed Of Chaos from DS1. I don't think DS2 really captures the same lightning which DS1 had so if you're expecting the same quality you're going to be disappointed, however it is still a great game which will test your patience a little bit more than DS1 did.

Definitely one of the better games I've ever played and if someone asks me if they should try it out I will always say yes, you can wait for a sale but I think even at full price it is totally worth it. Skyrim has a killer theme, graphics which still hold up in 2023 and a physics engine which no one truly understands and in true Elder Scrolls fashion you can play this game for over 150 hours across multiple characters and still come across stuff you have never seen before. I'd easily say a 10/10.

And who can forget:

Hey you.. You're finally awake.

I would only recommend Destiny 2 if you have both money and time to burn, otherwise I would steer clear. It has become a total cash grab at the moment and even if you do want to play you pretty much have to buy the DLCs if you want to have any meaningful gameplay.

If you do wish to try it out then play through the tutorial and most of the beginner free to play content (approx 5-10hrs) to get a feel for the game and only then I would buy the DLCs when they ARE ON SALE because I don't believe they're worth the price they currently are. I'd say that Witch Queen and Beyond Light are some of the best available for the time being.

A deep story filled with dark fantasy and simply fantastic level design rolled into a masterpiece of a game. Dark Souls has a reputation of being a hard and punishing game, but if you take your time with each encounter and be strategic in how you progress through a zone it becomes very easy to enjoy. While there are some zones like Blight Town and Sen's Fortress which made me rethink my life choices. Overcoming them and resting at the bonfire on the other side is a feeling which cannot be recreated.

Finishing the game honestly made me a little bit sad as my adventure in Lordran was over and I have to say that Dark Souls is one of the few games I've ever played where I wish I could play it for the first time again...

THE definitive futuristic RTS game. The base game by itself is wonderful and the campaign progresses perfectly to introduce you to new units and experimentals. Although the multiplayer is dead, Forged Alliance Forever is an awesome community driven project that allows for modding and matchmaking. I'd highly recommend you try this game at least once.
