tl;dr: This is a very polished and fun experience for an early access game, but most people will find that they've done everything there is to do in around 10 hours. Buy it if you want to support the game's development, otherwise let this one sit in the oven for a bit longer before you splash on the relatively steep price tag for what's currently on offer.

For the good: This is a very beautiful game in every way. The graphics are stunning and authentic and the attention to detail is breathtaking. The audio is gorgeous from the ambient dialog of vendors, to the sound of your militia acknowledging your orders. The game feels very polished. The level of customisation for your family and units is really nifty and the management aspect is overall quite satisfying too.

The bad: There isn't a lot to do and you'll quickly find that you run out of things to do after around 10 hours. Combat itself is very basic and there are AI power problems that need to be addressed quite urgently. The production and distribution system could also do with some love as well, as creating larger neighbourhoods and ensuring that the proper distribution of goods to consuming households (via having to create separate market places) feels extremely clunky and frustrating at the moment/

Overall I'm happy to support the development of the game and I look forward to what's to come next.
