Wow! What a hell of an experience! I absolutely loved every second of this game. I use the term "game" very loosely as it's more often dubbed as a "walking simulator", but I'd argue it is significantly more interactive than that.

The story centers around Edith Finch (the last remaining Finch family member) returning to her family home, discovering how each of her relatives had succumb to the family curse resulting in their unfortunate demise. As you progress into various rooms, you play as most of the family members in their final moments in extremely unique and interesting segments. I won't into the specifics however, as that would certainly ruin the first impressions of the game. I will just say though, that Lewis Finch's segment is the best story telling segment I've seen in a video game. It was simply an amazing experience from start to finish.

The world itself is beautifully crafted. From the cluttered book-laden rooms in the Finch's Home, to the stunning woodland surrounding it, you simply become so absorbed it becomes your existence. There's so much detail crammed into every space, I often found myself stopping in each room for about 5 minutes just to look around and take it all in. I would recommend you do the same too. While we're on the topic of visuals, I can say that the game ran great on Max Settings. A mild case of stutter at the very beginning, but it was quickly stomped out after an adjustment to the shadow quality. I probably didn't need to do that once I was inside however.

Another important thing to talk about are the controls. The way they used controls in each segment was very unique and told the story in a very tactile way. The Kite or The Swing Segments are great examples of this, but again, I have to note Lewis Finch's segment for the dual controls. You'll know what I mean once you play it. It's just amazing.

The playtime is somewhere between two and three hours. That might be a sting considering its base price is around £15. I would say it is definitely worth it, but I can understand the desire to wait for a sale. Just make sure you don't leave it too long lest you forget or come across spoilers or something. :P
