One of the best speculative biology projects I've ever had the chance to experience. One of the best visual novels I've read in fact, expertly weaving speculative biology in a visual novel format shaped in an alien nature documentary coating. The art is absolutely gorgeous, mixing digital and traditional forms to coalesce into a stunning mass of unique aquatic fauna. The worldbuilding is very compelling, neatly wrapped in a small portion of a greater expanse without deriving from the main focus; a newborn male Brillo whale and the world it inhabits. Very excited to see what the future holds for our whale, and to potentially learn more about in-universe Earth and more enthralling species.

There's not much that I can really say except that Umineko: no Naku Koro ni is one of the few visual novels as a whole that's significantly affected my life. Despite its slow start (Legend of the Golden Witch), the stay on Rokkenjima is quite the pleasant one. The slow start of Legend of the Golden Witch is quite necessary to introduce the Ushiromiya family and their overall character, which is important to understand the rest of both the Question Arcs and Answer Arcs. Umineko no Naku Kori ni keeps you engaged the whole stay and one of the most thrilling narratives I've witnessed in fiction. 10/10 Would Read Again.
