X-rays, which is short for X-radiation, also referred to as röntgen radiation was first discovered by german scientist Willhelm Röntgen 8th of november 1895, which is also my birthday (november 8, not 1895). It's a form of high-energy electromagnetic radiation. Most X-rays have a wavelength ranging from 0.01 to 10 nanometers, corresponding to frequencies in the range 30 petahertz to 30 exahertz (3×1016 Hz to 3×1019 Hz) and energies in the range 100 eV to 100 keV. This makes the waves able to go through low-density materials (LDMs) and collide with higher density ones. This can be recalled to images and make for practically see through cameras.

HOWEVER, wallpaper engine content creators do not seem to take the last fact into logic consideration and make the common misconseption that x-rays can collide with human skin, exposing contents behind, for say, clothes, allowing for pornographic contents, such like "hentai". This is as said highly unrealistic.

Dr. Röntgen named it x-radiation to signify that it was an unknown form of one, hince X-ray.
