I can't in good conscious recommend a $35 game, which only goes on sale to $31, when it requires mods to be enjoyable. Not only that but with the recent editions of DLC to get the full game plus DLC costs $100. Thats insane considering most people don't play the game vanilla past the 50-100 hour mark. Is the game good? Yes*. If you don't mind having to deal with an """""emotional story telling generator""""" while trying to play your colony sim****. There is a bit of an identity crisis with those who play the game for the game and enjoy the colony sim meaning they're going to be, selling organs, breeding cat girls(don't ask), committing war crimes, and over all min/maxxing and what Tynan wants which is a story telling generator. My honest suggestion is buy another game(or two or three) with the 35 you would spend on Rimworld and get more fun and hours out of that then modding a 7/10 game into a 9/10 game. And if for some god forsaken reason you want to buy the DLC like I did then you could spend that $100 on multiple games which can have more engaging game play or ones that actually focus on a story and still have enough left over for a pizza and soda.
