This game is really cool!
But with me playing a lot of horror games and video games in general, I kinda grew accustomed to a lot of tricks you guys used for DON'T SCREAM. I wanna throw out a few ideas & criticisms that might help with making this game more exciting for more experienced players of the genre:

1. The scares are too telegraphed
- Most scares that would've got me happen right after the camera started to go static-y or right after the lights goes of. A quick fix would be allowing the atmosphere to do all the work and just hit me with the jumpscare without the need of static or flashlight malfunction; at least do it after some point in your timer. (Some would call it cheap but those malfunctions really gave away that something was about to appear & if you let your atmosphere do all the work, those scares really can be more effective than letting camera start malfunctioning or having the flashlight's battery start to short out.

2. The lack of objective really makes things less intense
- With me wandering around the forest with nothing to do, I feel like I could easily walk in circles and make the 18 minutes past while focusing on keeping myself prepared for any jumpscare. Maybe a requirement of needing move to places/move to a different landmark of the map might help; or at least make it to where getting scared actually has repercussions for later on in the 18 minutes.

3. More different type of scares
- One thing that would scare me the most in horror games is the feeling of something chasing you/approaching you from the distance, causing you to feel like you're being hunted as the prey or a slow sound building up, Louder & Louder, with rapid other sound effects being layered on top, making me unable to pinpoint where the creature was at; causing my sense of sound to become an hindrance more than a help. This is more of an idea but I feel like this could easily be a thing that would cause me to panic and make me feel unsafe, leading to a jumpscare that would actually make me scream.

4. Idea: More locations
- A forest is a great starter location but I wouldn't mind more areas that could be explored. I was walking around the forest and then I found the boat. It then gave me an idea of you being stranded out in the sea, on the same boat before it was destroyed. Dark & thundering with heavy rain all by yourself with the crew gone. You're exploring the ship with the boat rocking from the heavy waves; the interior damaged from the monster or creature that caused you to become the last survivor. There's signs of struggle in multiple rooms, both from people fighting or hiding of the monster. You then could stick lore or something for the player that makes them want to explore the whole boat.

5. Idea: The Player's brain is their biggest weakness
This one is a weird one to explain but it kinda fits with my 2nd criticism. All the scares I got were pretty much either direct or indirect:

Type
Example
Direct
A Jumpscare to the face after the camera starts to static
Indirect
Screams of someone in the distance

But I wouldn't mind some atmospheric moments that you could visually see but doesn't affect you. For example: There's a monster that is running in the distance and I can barely make him out from my flashlight, at most I see a Silhouette of a creature or just an appendage before it disappears back into the night. This causes my mind to run crazy with ideas of what it could be. My brain then starts using context clues that is given to me from the sounds or things I've seen before, causing me to be more focused on the atmosphere given to me; after that my brain starts ruining wild with ideas of what is after me:
  • Is this monster Feral or humanoid?
  • How is it going to hurt me?
  • What is it?
  • Is there more than one?

A example I could use to understand what I mean is the movie: "The Blair Witch Project". At one point in the movie the main characters were supposed to shine a flashlight on the Blair Witch in the middle of the night (The scene after their tent gets attacked by the Blair Witch and they run out to investigate). The main actress sees the monster and starts freaking out, but we as the audience don't know what she saw; so we start to become just as uncomfortable as the actors and we start thinking "Oh my god, what could it be?!".

    I might've gotten lucky...
And maybe somethings that I've said about the scares would've popped up and I was just fortunate enough to not get it. But if I'm able to go through the first playthrough only feeling, at most, startled on over 70% of Jumpscares, that is a problem. This is a great start & a fun idea though and I can't wait to see what you guys have in store for us! :D

Edit: HOW DO I TABLE ON STEAM WTF

I've only played the Multiplayer (Quickplay) of this game

$70 is asking for a lot when it comes this game.
  • Game play is fun but the crashes are so often; like Every Other match type of bad.
  • The crashes happen randomly too, there's not much of a common theme as to why it crashes so you can't avoid it.
  • Some attachments need to be fixed with how much it can mess up a weapon. For example the explosive bullets on the starter shotgun; it's actually crazy how much it ruins your accuracy and how it does less damage while moving
  • The map pool for this is extremely small (At least for standard quickplay)[/]. I've played for around 7 hours and I felt like I've played on the congested highway map (Santa Sena) for at least 4 of those hours now. They really could've added some legacy maps to help alleviate this problem.
  • The Congested Highway map (Santa Sena) really runs out its welcome quick. it's a cool idea but the way it was made makes it more annoying and stale just because of this map's gimmick.
  • The Other maps range from average to really fun though
  • This game is going to have multiple 10$ battle passes along with an in-game store to buy skins; while also making the base game cost 10$ more than standard pricing and having a special edition that's $30 more.
  • You need that special edition to unlock all the operators in multiplayer

Just wait for a steam sale or price drop As if that'll ever happen in the next year kek so you can have a more complete experience because this game is very bare-bone at the moment.

It has some bugs and it's not a perfect remake of all the original PS1 games. But for a cheap & fun collection of some solid classics from the PS1 I highly recommend it.

This game is bad. Even for a meme game. Runs horribly, main gameplay doesn't work and multiplayer just doesn't work. Just use your dollar to buy something off the dollar menu from McDonalds
