I wish there was a neutral recommendation, but I seem to have more to say that is negative than positive, so I feel obligated to say that I do not recommend Starfield.

My main gripes are spaceflight and exploration. It doesn't feel like you're really piloting a ship, since you just fast travel everywhere. No flying down to planets and picking a landing spot. You dont even get to see what the landing site looks like before you're already down on the planet. This is absolutely an engine thing, I wouldn't be surprised if the Creation Engine 2 just can't support seemless loading in that way.

I've seen people say that this isn't an issue because "the game isn't an exploration game, its an RPG," but I don't think that's a valid argument for the sheer fact that Bethesda decided to include so many planets and systems that have no ties to the story. They were put there to explore and chart, they don't add anything to the story, they don't make the world seem more full, they just exist.

In regards to exploration, there are no ground vehicles, meaning you have to explore on-foot. Even a single vehicle would make traversing planets so much nicer. There probably could have been something like a vehicle bay for a small rover.

Planets have randomly generated structures and other features, which is fine, but the structures are all just the same cookie cutter "dungeons" or small outposts. For example, I got a randomly generated quest from an outpost to go deal with some pirates. I went and did that, got the reward, and went on to another planet. On another planet, I get the same style of quest, go deal with pirates. That's fine, but the base was an exact copy of the one I was just inside.

Combat is also ok, but I haven't found any weapons that have felt particularly nice. On a positive note, I really like the design of most weapons! The art direction is really interesting, and they all look pretty unique and new. However, they don't all feel great to use.

Weapon sounds seem to lack punch, and there's barely any feedback from doing damage. You don't blow limbs off enemies with well placed shots. You don't disintegrate people with lasers. The closest thing is blowing someone's boost pack up or launching them, which is amusing, but rare.

I think the art design is probably the best part of the game. All the ship manufacturers are unique and have their own styles, the suits and gear all look interesting, and all the factions and major cities feel distinct and nice. Even though I'm not a fan of the more rustic or western/cowboy style of Akila City, I can still appreciate the work that went into detailing everything there.

I haven't hated my time with Starfield, and I'll still play it to completion (or somewhat completion, I'm not sure I want to go through multiple rounds of new game plus), but I haven't loved my with with the game either. Perhaps this will change in the future if modding takes off, but I'm reviewing the game based on its current state, not on a hopeful future like I've seen others do.

As of now, this game isn't worth $70 in my opinion. I feel like it’s trying too hard to be something that it's not, and Bethesda could have really benefited from narrowing their scope to focus on a sci-fi RPG with a few handcrafted worlds and quests rather than thousands of randomly generated ones. The stuff that is handcrafted is genuinely nice, but it's surrounded by hundreds dead worlds and the same copy-pasted dungeons.

I really wanted to enjoy this game, I've been looking for something just like it. The premise of terraforming a whole planet through actually creating the systems to do so seems like something I'd really enjoy, and at it's core it is enjoyable. However, the execution of Per Aspera's core features is poor, at least in it's current state. Right now, the progression seems slow, and the game is filled with various game breaking bugs. One of my biggest issues is with the worker drone AI. Currently, they don't properly prioritize things and will move resources around seemingly randomly. I've looked at my colonies just to find that my drones had unloaded all the food and water from them just to go put those resources somewhere else. All in all, I don't think the game is worth buying right now; maybe if the devs work on fixing the bugs and bettering the AI and progression systems it will be worth it.

Despite what people say about Elite Dangerous and Elite Dangerous: Horizons, this is a great game if you are open to grinding. There are 3 basic categories of making credits that you can go into; Exploration, Trading, or Combat. There are different subsets of careers you can go into under these to make credits the way you want to. There are also different groups dedicated to these different play styles like Mobius, the one I'm in. If you dont like grinding however, this game is definitely not for you.

This game is pretty good. (Really thats all I can say.) Though a little short for the price. I'm pretty sure that there are going to be more future updates, and there is a workshop. If they impliment a map making system into the game I can really see the workshop taking off.

What's there to say about No Man's Sky that hasn't already been said before? It had a rough start, but has had constant support since release. Now, the game is more than what they initially promised and is still getting updates and support.

Despite being a quick game from start to finish; ABZU was a wonderful experience. The music and visuals are really relaxing, and the colors put you at ease. The music is perfectly timed with what is going on in the game, and I had chills almost the entire time from how good it was. This game has quickly climbed my favorite games list, and I could never recomend it enough.

If you are looking for a game with great gameplay... This is not it. ADR1FT doesn't have amzing gameplay; in fact, it's pretty repetitive. Just go restart a mainframe, get a control core, and restart a system. But what made this game a great experence, was the environment. The beautiful environment makes this game so immersive, and negates the dull gameplay. If you are a fan of sci-fy games like this I would highly recomend it!

A great RTS game where you can destroy your enemies by smashing asteroids and moon into them, and building a giant death star laser planet!
