It is the old Quake with updated graphics and couple of 2017 champion driven game features. Still hardcore, still fast, still jumpfest.

Some 2017 features:

+ There are different passive and active skills for every champion. I was scared of this before buying the game however, it doesn't change anything important. Game still plays like your regular Quake.
+ There are different stats for every champion. Again, this is even more effectless than the skills. HP stat changes things a little bit. But your arse will still be kicked by those low hp champions.
+ You open chests and stuff like it is in Overwatch, CS:GO etc. Purely cosmetic.
+ There is a Rune system but it is not like the League of Legends rune system. Purely cosmetic.

My only 2 complaints:

- I am living in Toronto. So I have to choose US East. Most of the time I get 90-99 ping which is unacceptable since we are playing the fastest and most reflex-oriented FPS in the world. But today I mostly got 40-45 ping. Maybe they are upgrading their servers. Who knows.

**Edit: forgot to mention, the ping thing is not related to your internet speed. I got 500mbit download/upload with 0-1 max ping to my ISP's datacenter.**

- Matchmaking takes 40-50 seconds on average. And I choose 3 out of 4 game modes.

Since there aren't any decent FPSs come out for the last couple of years. This game is definitely a buy.

The game's title should be "Water not Included". However, still a great game.

First of all, fantastic game. Recently I was playing Stellaris, but this game destroys it.

In just two gameplay sessions, I have amassed an 18 gameplay time which is crazy. The game is the definition of "just one more turn."

Pros:
+UI is screaming "2017".
+Lots of buildings to build.
+Lots of races.
+Customizable ships. (Yet it could be better. For example, I want to create a better exploration ship but four slots aren't enough for it.)
+Map sizes can be gigantic.
+I like this game even better than the late Civ games.
+Customization screen when you're creating a game is very detailed.

Cons:
-If I were you, I would sweat my bottom off to add more technologies. The game is excellent in its current state but why not aim higher.
-Technology screen needs keyboard navigation. It can be confusing to not being able to navigate with keyboard arrows.
-Diplomacy needs to be better. I don't know why and how but it feels like it lacks something. Maybe more interaction options with other civilizations?

This game is designed as a multiplayer game.

If you got some friends that like real time management and strategy, go ahead and buy it. The game is fast paced and great.

However when it comes to singleplayer:

- When I finished my skirmish game, it felt like i was playing the demo.
- "Huge" map size is actually quite small. I mean look at Stellaris, Civ series etc. I know they're turn-based but It is 2017 and you need a big map. Also the game has every aspect needed to be a turn-based strategy game except turns.

Since I love playing singleplayer, sandbox modes etc. I'm not recommending the game. Hopefully next game will be awesome, I feel it!

How the hell do you even play this game? I was going to use the f-word, however "hell" is safer. You can't shoot, you can't dunk. Where is the fun? Hold the shoot button for 2 seconds, game states it's too "late" and you fail. Hold the button couple of milliseconds shorter, game tells you that you have lift your finger too "early" and you fail.

And since there isn't any practice mode that you can rush into ("exhibition" mode isn't practice mode.), it is painful to score intentionally.

I don't have time to work my way to be able to dunk with a bubble head. JUST PUT A METER DAMMIT. Unplayable and not fun at all in its current state.

It is easier to score in 2k series and this game is the one that claims it is "arcade".

Where is the fun, if you can't cheat. :(

Edit: Devs responded, you can find cheat options under Options menu when creating a new campaign. So yeah, you can cheat.
