I personally enjoy reliving my childhood. If you didn't play this game when it first started however, you might find yourself a little baffled by what all it has to offer, and the obnoxious paywall that can turn off a lot of players from it. Granted, it is the same reason I was turned away from WoW, but there is a bit of difference in this one. In Wizard 101, you can essentially be brainless if you want, without having to "Farm the best gear all the time" and fight just to level up to get to that one quest. It has collection quests, but most of them are simply one or two fights, and that is it. It is one of the few reasons I absolutely love this game, is though it can be challenging at times without friends.

To me, it also has a decently active community that isn't one of those "Elite variety put downs" that you see in most modern games. People won't call you trash for not doing particular things, or not having X part to your build as it is "Essentailly a sin not to" and instead is actually got that whole "Healthy and friendly" community vibe to it. Most people I have found playing it aren't even that young, roughly between the ages of 16-25, due to the time of release and the main player base just following along.

Now, I will note that their is still some strategy, and sure, there are (Small to non-existent) pay-to-win features that show up VERY late game. Mainly, this is just small things you actually go out to the store to buy, like Pre-paid cards that not only could get you a month free to all areas of the game, but a ton of benefits. You could simply do this early game for what I like to call "Breeze gear" but if you do, you won't have it for the late and far off max level of Paragon.

Finally, I will give it a rating.

I personally consider wizard 101 to be intuitive, but not terribly engaging. Sure, the story is still there, but it doesn't hit as home unless you just keep only with the main story quests. The game play is repetitive in the same way any quest grinder MMO can be, as you will use the same things, but unlock new things every so often. Easy to learn, hard to master, and over all a fun time in my opinion, and something that you can (ACTUALLY) relax with.

I give this Game 4.5/5 pips. It is easy, but can be hard, it has a paywall, but there are easy ways to get out of it with even a small amount of cash. It is something that can bring joy, or simply just keep you less engaged and de-stress yourself. It personally is one of my favorite games since I was a child.
