Its quite funny, I don't really remember how I obtained this game, I suspect I received it in a humble bundle forever ago, and like a lot of those games, they often just end up in my pile of steam games and go unnoticed. But this game caught my eye while browsing the library, and I decided to take a look at the store page. The trailer and details made me curious to check out the game blind, and as such that's what I did. I would encourage others to do the same cause you will probably get the most out of this game going in with zero knowledge.

Context aside,
this is probably one of the best SCP related single-player games I've played or have seen in quite some time. Visuals, sounds, storytelling, and animations are very well executed for a small indie, and I was pretty much immersed in this game the whole way through. This game is very faithful to the SCP's that it covers and the universe its trying to build and tells semi-interactive stories with the pleasing visuals unreal engine is capable of. If your interested even slightly in SCP, this is a really solid game to check out, I don't think you can be disappointed with it.

In my casual (wasting time for no reason) experience, you can complete this game in 5 hours or much less.
I did run into a bug or two while playing (nothing gamebreaking), overall everything in this game feels quite polished.

Give this game a chance, play it blind. GG

Played it for a few hours. Was worth playing for the story it told and the music it included. Plus who DOESN'T like space stuff. I don't think I can go one second into this game without saying: "HOLY S*** THAT NEBULA THO... AWE, screenshot go speed background go!"

I really like the theme of the game. Space is a really vast place and this game actually does a good job with keeping up with the accuracy to that theme. Meanwhile the story elements of the game are very nicely tied together with small breadcrumbs. Plus when not stargazing, the game reminds me of a point and click game where you go clicking on small objects and details to find their significance in the story. Which I think is a nice detail to add.

Overall. Loved the characters, Loved the visuals, Loved the music, and I enjoyed the ending (and I won't spoil it).
Worth playing instead of watching on youtube.

Just finished the game, where to begin this review...

Ori and the blind forest is a very well developed game with outstanding visuals, music and most certainly story development. I have to say that moon studios has really done a good job with developing the story and characters for this game. Mostly going from its awesome level design to its extremely challenging levels that show up at each stage of the game. As you progress though the story you tend to really get a emotional feel for the story that really grabs your attention into playing the game (especially at the start). Meanwhile at many stages you are faced with very fair challenges that bring excitement and thrill to the game. With this in mind I did feel a really good connection in terms of the feel and looks of the game alongside its story. However it does seem like a shame that once the game is completed, you can never return to your save, which is a downside if you didn't finish all of the levels completely (as I have done). Though the ending leaves you off with many mysteries and questions unanswered, I feel that many can be answered by the player them self or by moon studios (if at all). It all really depends on what they have in store for their upcoming DLC "The Definitive Edition" which as they say, will be a final polish on the game. I look forward to any future games to be released by Moon studios and I look forward to any kind of details on the DLC to be later released "spring 2016"

Side note: The only thing I can say is I will miss this game.. (and it's story)

-Awesome abilities (plenty of wall-jumping)
-Very good Character Development
-Hard but possible Challenges
-Emotional roller coaster (Hang on tight!)
-Very clever Platformer
-You will fall in love with this game (if not... well that's your opinion)
-Plenty of achievements for those who seek them

Some cons:
-Save file locks after the game is completed (So go and explore before you finish it!)
-Story ends off with unanswered questions (be prepared for fanfictions if any)
-some VERY minor optimization issues (small stutters here and there, not game-breaking)
