Scary and fun. Good production. All around good game.

If you haven't already played this game, play it. The whole Borderlands franchise is unique in both concept and execution. Playing Borderlands 2, or any other Borderlands game, induces frenetic feelings of euphoria resulting in obsessive gameplay. And no, it doesn't ever have to stop. Aside from the four player characters you start the game with, there are 2 more available in the DLC, and 45 DLC add ons in total.

Do you have to get the DLC for this game to have replay value? No! When you kill the villains in this game, they just come back stronger. You'll get better weapons for killing them again, and these weapons are amazing. This game has some of the best weapons I've ever seen in a video game, and their stats and colors are procedurally generated. The fact that you can go back and kill Handsome Jack over and over again, well, even though this and other aspects of the game are totally ludicrous, it will not pose a problem for you, even if elements like these throw you off in every other game you've ever played. Your suspension of disbelief will stay activated without a hitch, because from the psychological perspective you will not merely be playing this game, you will be mainlining it.

For Linux users looking for the best of the 100 or so AAA titles that will run natively on their platform of choice, I hope this is one of the first games you stumble upon, if not the very first. For everyone else, definitely buy this game, because you can't get the Borderlands experience from anywhere other than the borderlands franchise.
